Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.711700 By Earth Wind and Fire. By Eddie Del Barrio, Maurice White, and Verdine White. Arranged by Musiscorz. Hip-Hop,Pop,R & B. Score and parts. 80 pages. Musiscorz #320271. Published by Musiscorz (A0.711700). My arrangement of the amazing Earth Wind & Fire song to try and get as close to the original as possible, using the instruments for my school band. It does sound different using saxophones but have included Trumpet & Trombone parts. It is transcribed with Rhythm section parts for those that find it difficult to read chords or improvise/comp. The intro has the runs written out but are no doubt produced in the studio. Sibelius sounds whilst good doesn't allow falls that start immediately but sounds close. The synth part written for a Nord with Brass falls and the String section works really well. The Clav part is on a Micro Korg which needed some programming but is effective. Arrangement is for sale on Sheet Music Direct and Sheet Music Plus. Band Line up: Lead Vox and BV's, Alto Saxes x3, Tenor Saxes x 2, Bari Sax, Trumpets x 3, Trombones x 2, Micro Korg Keys - Organ & Clavichord, Keys - Clavichord, Nord - Strings & Brass, Guitar, Bass, Drums.

David McKeown #6293873. Published by David McKeown (A0.591412). The Easter Egg Rock is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Clarinet and one Alto Saxophone. The Easter Egg Rock is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Modern Rock music has its origins in Rock’n’Roll, with the first use of the word in 1951 by an Ohio DJ.  The first big hit was Bill Haley’s Rock Around the Clockin 1955, but other artists such as Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Gene Vincent and Little Richard all have strong claims to being the first Rock’n’Roll artist. The Easter Egg Rock is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Easter Egg Rock is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Alto Saxophone,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284086 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Easter,Hanukkah,Instructional. Score and part. 6 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #875277. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1284086). This is a lovely reflective solo piece for E flat alto saxophone and piano. All the notes are within easy reach of the early intermediate player. The technical level is about Grade 3 (UK ABRSM) The range covers low C (written) to the C (written) just above the staff. The saxophone part makes considerable use of quarter note triplets and tied notes. The piece has long lyrical phrases, beginning in concert G minor and ending in concert E flat. It is ideal for developing a sustained tone in the upper register. The piece is rewarding to perform and the piano part has been kept fairly straightforward throughout. It would make an excellent piece for a student recital.

C Instrument - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1402912 By Three Dog Night. By Hoyt Axton. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Pop,Standards. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 2 pages. John Fries #986137. Published by John Fries (A0.1402912). TYPE JOHN FRIES IN THE SEARCH BAR TO SEE ALL I HAVE TO OFFER. Thanks, John. Joy to the World is a song written by Hoyt Axton and made famous by the band Three Dog Night. The song is also popularly known by its opening lyric, Jeremiah was a bullfrog. Some of the words are nonsensical. Axton wanted to persuade his record producers to record a new melody he had written, and the producers asked him to sing any words to the tune. A member of Three Dog Night said that the original lyrics to the song were Jeremiah was a prophet but no one liked it. When Hoyt Axton performed the song to the group, two of the three main vocalists – Danny Hutton and Cory Wells – rejected the song, but Chuck Negron felt that the band needed a silly song to help bring the band back together as a working unit. Negron also felt that the song wasn't even close to our best record, but it might have been one of our most honest..

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813696 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6473995. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813696). I Vow to Thee, My Country (Thaxted) (Bb) (Woodwind Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of I Vow to Thee, My Country, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. However, if you are looking to perform this selection for concerts or recitals, I would suggest you look for the arrangement of Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets), also by Regis Bookshar. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Woodwind Quintet, consisting of 1 Flute, 1 Oboe, 1 Clarinet, 1 French Horn and 1 Bassoon (which has the lead), he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of I Vow to Thee, My Country based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jup.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1209582 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Christmas. 9 pages. RayThompsonMusic #807733. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1209582). This is my arrangement of Gustav Holst's arrangement. It is arranged for wind quintetThe French composer Marin Marais composed the tune as a dance for his opera Alcyone of 1706, with the title Marche pour les Matelots. The tune was subsequently included in Raoul Auger Feuillet's 1706 Recueil de contredansealong with a longways proper dance, La Matelotte, which Feuillet had himself written to go with the tune.In 1710 John Essex (d. 1744) published an English translation of Feuillet's work called, For the Further Improvement of Dancing, in which the dance is given as The Female Saylor. The words were written around 1860 while William Morris, then 26, was working as an apprentice in the office of the architect, Edmund Street, presumably under the persuasion of his fellow students who at that time had a taste for part-song. It became known as the Christmas Carol Masters in This Hall (alternative title: Nowell, Sing We Clear) Gustav Holst incorporated the carol into his work Three Carols H133 (1916–17) along with Christmas Song: On this Day and I Saw Three Ships. Holst wrote the Three Carols for amateurs singing in his Thaxted festivals. You can check out my arrangemet of this and other Marin Marais compositions here.
