Double Bass,Keyboard Accompaniment - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1282560 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Historic,Instructional,Wedding. 22 pages. Regis Bookshar #873815. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1282560). Canon (Bb) - Johann Pachelbel - Double Bass Trio, Keyboard - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon is perhaps the most famous canon ever written. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon was originally scored for three violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo playing an ostinato pattern, repeating the same harmonic progression throughout the entire composition.Regis Bookshar has now arranged this composition for a Double Bass Trio, which play the melody in canon, and a Keyboard instrument, either a Piano or Organ, which plays the ostinato pattern. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for concerts, recitals and church services, especially for weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (22 pages).Pachelbel's Canon was originally written in the key of D Major but this version has been transposed to the key of Bb Major, making it a little easier for some younger performers, especially brass and woodwind players. Another version, in the original key of D Major, is also available, if you would prefer. String players would probably prefer to play that version. Also available are other versions of this well-known Canon for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to compare the different versions to find the version (or versions) which best suits your needs. Also, please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Johann Pachelbel's delightful Canon will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Large Ensemble Horn - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1015751 Composed by Dylan Dukat. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 36 pages. D. Dukat #4895001. Published by D. Dukat (A0.1015751). The Majesty of Blue and Green is a tone poem written in dedication to the powerful nature of nature itself, and specifically as an ode to the history of Saranac, New York. Saranac was originally established as a town for treating Tuburculosis (TB), and subsequently was aptly nicknamed The Healing Town. The medical cottages established the foundation of the town that would later grow from it, which carries the legacy of healing. Although the physical healing has stopped, the town and its gorgeous lake now serve me as a place of spiritual healing. Every time I find myself encased in nature I seem to slip into an incredibly introspective and reflective state. In writing this piece for the Saranac Horn Retreat, I found myself refinding those deep, complex mental states which I constantly sought out in nature so dearly before. The piece is written to be a breadth of color, utilizing a wide palette to create a colorful work of art in one's own mind. The melodic motifs are simply vehicles on which the color and emotion journeys.- D. Dukat

Woodwind Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813669 Composed by Henry Purcell. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Instructional,Multicultural,Standards,World. 10 pages. Regis Bookshar #6435411. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813669). Woodwind Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This arrangement of the Allegro movement from Henry Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services. It is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. This selection is one of the arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library, many of which are being made available for the first time. They have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The original composition was written in D Major but Regis Bookshar has transposed it to Bb Major, making it a little easier for many modern musicians. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (10 pages). The 17th century composer, Henry Purcell, is generally considered to be one of the greatest English composers of his generation. His Sonata for Trumpet and Strings in D Major, composed in 1694, was probably written for the London Theatre, where a fine tradition of trumpet playing had developed. Purcell almost certainly had in mind either John Shore or his brother, William, the most renowned trumpet players in England at the time. The trumpets of the time were normally tuned in D and there were no valves on the Baroque trumpets, so they were limited in the number of notes that they could play. The term Sonata here probably means no more than a piece of incidental music and looks forward to the style that would become the solo concerto where soloist and strings are pitted against each other but also looks back to an older type of instrumental music which emphasized equality between members of the ensemble. The music is in three movements and looks forward to the fast-slow-fast plan popularized by Vivaldi's concertos. Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists, besides trumpet players, could also have the opportunity to play the Allegro movement from Purcell's Sonata for Trumpet, so he has created other arrangements of this selection. This particular arrangement is for a Woodwind Sextet, consisting of 1 Flute, 1 Oboe, 2 Clarinets, 1 French Horn and 1 Bassoon, and features the Flute on the melody, but there are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this piece. You may find something else that may suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Purcell's Allegro from his Sonata for Trumpet will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

David McKeown #6293877. Published by David McKeown (A0.591414). The Easter Egg Rock is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Clarinet and one Trumpet. The Easter Egg Rock is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. Modern Rock music has its origins in Rock’n’Roll, with the first use of the word in 1951 by an Ohio DJ.  The first big hit was Bill Haley’s Rock Around the Clockin 1955, but other artists such as Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, Gene Vincent and Little Richard all have strong claims to being the first Rock’n’Roll artist. The Easter Egg Rock is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo and syncopated rhythms and accidentals. With a playing-time of around one and a half minutes, The Easter Egg Rock is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Brass Ensemble Horn - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813801 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6487175. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813801). O Spirit All-Embracing (Thaxted) (Bb) (French Horn Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of O Spirit All-Embracing, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. However, if you are looking to perform this selection for concerts or recitals, I would suggest you look for the arrangement of Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets), also by Regis Bookshar. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All-Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a French Horn Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of O Spirit All-Embracing based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, will continue to entertain both.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1248246 Composed by Ross Fiddes. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Score. 31 pages. Ross Fiddes #842808. Published by Ross Fiddes (A0.1248246). It was late 2015. You have written music for our children and for many others, but you’ve never written anything for me†said my bride of (then) 36 years.  Point taken. Whilst she had inspired me and had been a sounding board for many works, I had never dedicated anything to her. In looking for texts which expressed something of the love and admiration I have for my dear lady, I found some beautiful poems by the late Australian poet, John Shaw Neilson. These express emotions which are romantic, whimsical, allegorical, contemplative and more, providing marvellous inspiration.Rejecting the idea of narrative song cycle, I decided each song would tell its own story, naming the grouping Love Stories. So here is is.Throughout, the music is treated in ensemble; the piano does not “accompany†but supports whilst charting its own course. The work was premiered in the 2018 Newcastle Music Festival by Michael Lampard with the composer at the piano. And the dedicatee gave the performers a huge hug onstage at the conclusion of the work!YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-E8lJpMVGE&t=2s

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1006443 Composed by David Jaedyn Conley. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Film/TV. 14 pages. Mydnyte Publishing #2016307. Published by Mydnyte Publishing (A0.1006443). A Prayer for Harmonic Convergence is a musical meditation for Soprano Sax, B Flat Clarinet, and Bass Clarinet. It is written in free time, and is more of an exercise in vertical development versus horizontal. A degree of tonal indeterminacy is implied and demanded, as the nature of the instruments that it was written for requires the player to make adjustments of their embouchure in order to keep the pitch in tune with the other lines. In a piece where a note which acts as a third suddenly finds itself acting as a fifth or a root means that slight variations of intonation is inevitable. This is a desired effect. Slight overtones from the instruments are meant to combine and mingle. Occasionally the overtones converge and cause the sinusoidal waveform to beat at different frequencies. There is no way to predict how and when the phenomena will happen, and therefore there is no real way to perform this piece the same way twice. While the performer should take care to keep their intonation complimentary to the other players, a degree of latitude is intended so that the performer may experiment with this concept. It is suggested that the players perform from the score so as to anticipate the entrances and exits of the other performers.
