For example, if there is a slur happening on a certain beat, I'll make sure it is mantained for every repetition, which is why measure 20 is more difficult with a fretted B instead of an open string. Many of the arrangements that are out there don’t have same notes as the original, and therefore some of the cleverness and simplicity of the original gets lost.This arrangement uses the same shapes as the original, and there’s guitar and tablature as well guitar notation only so that you can easily see that almost all the measures in the music have the same right hand fingering, despite the mix of open and stopped strings making the score look much more complex than it actually is!The original key makes for undue complexity in the clarinet part, so I have arranged the piece to be played by the guitar with a Capo on fret one, so that all the clever shapes can be retained, and the piece moved from 5 sharps in the Clarinet to no sharps. In both the score and the tablature the fingering and positions are marked relative to the Capo, so fret 5 means 5 frets up from the Capo (actually fret 6 on the guitar).I’ve produced two clarinet parts - one sits almost entirely in the chalumeau register, and one sits almost entirely in the clarion register. The span of the piece means there always has to be places where the clarinettist is crossing the break but these are few and far between, making the piece accessible to players from early intermediate upwards.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!
