C.’s Jig for violin and cello is from the album Appalachia Waltz which features Mark O’Connor and Yo-Yo Ma playing the jig. O’Connor utilized the third movement of his Fiddle Concerto and arranged from it a violin and cello duet. The result is thrilling - a virtuoso duet full of melody, interplay and energy, pushing both instruments all the way to its conclusion. F. C.’s Jig is a spirited, well known derivation of the Fiddle Concerto’s jig. The Sony Classical release debuted and then stayed for several months at the No.1 position on Billboard Magazine’s Classical music chart. O’Connor originally composed the piece as a solo for unaccompanied violin in 1993. For the recording with Ma in 1996, O’Connor and Meyer re-arranged the waltz for violin, cello and doublebass. As it currently appears in this manuscript, O’Connor adapts the instrumentation for three violins. Appalachia Waltz might well be one of Mark O’Connor’s most-loved compositions. It utilizes musical inspiration from Scandinavian and Appalachian folk fiddling, while crafted into a classical music setting. Butterfly’s Day Out (viola part – mandolin/misc instr., vla, cel) MO111BViola Part (score - cel/bs, parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor3 pages - 4:45 minutes in length Butterfly’s Day Out adapted for mandolin/misc. instr., viola and cello by O’Connor is on the album Appalachia Waltz featuring Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer. The piece was one of the stand-out cuts, receiving a wide variety of radio play, and bringing the trio’s music to new audiences. Written originally for the mandolin, it surely is one of O’Connor’s most memorable mandolin melodies. With the aid of Edgar Meyer arranging the fabulous cello and bass solo sections, the piece can be performed in a variety of instrumental settings. The mandolin part could be also covered by guitar, piano, harp or most any chordal instrument. The piece was named by a young music student at an inner-city camp for underprivileged youths. At his workshop, O’Connor performed his new piece on the mandolin and asked for the kids to help him name it. The title, Butterfly’s Day Out, helped O’Connor complete his vision for the tune. The whole experience also inspired the idea for O’Connor to start his own Fiddle Camps. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1994 Composed by Mark O’ConnorOriginally released on Appalachian Waltz featuring Mark O’Connor, Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer, Sony ClassicalOther versions of Butterfly’s Day Out can be heard on Mark O’Connor’s Thirty-Year Retrospective OMAC Records, A Musical Legacy OMAC Records and The Essential Mark O’Connor Sony Classical Catalogue Number MO111BCopyright © 1994 by Mark O’Connor Music International For more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:www.oconnormethod.com

Score and part. 9 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #762675. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.1162315). Salut D'Amour (Liebesgruss) for Violoncello and Piano - as played by YO YO MA and Kathryn Stott.Edward Elgar’s Salut d’amour is one of those pieces by the British composer that has a particularly haunting melody. Composed in 1888 for his future wife Caroline Alice Roberts, the work became an enormous success early on. There are numerous arrangements – but the only versions for which the autograph manuscripts survive are those for Violin and Piano, Piano solo and Violoncello and Piano. Up to now there has only been an arrangement of the cello part made by the original publisher, presumably with Elgar’s approval. This score was written based on the beautiful record 'Songs of the Arc of Life' by YO YO MA (cello) and Kathryn Stott (piano). Enjoy!Advanced Intermeiate level.Format: Concert, 9 x 12 inches.9 pages.

Vistas (violin part – vln, vla, cel) MO143BViolin Part (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor6 pages - 10:20 minutes in length Vistas for violin, viola and cello (1999), was composed by Mark O’Connor and is featured on the Appalachian Journey album, recorded with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer. In describing Vistas, Mark O’Connor explains the works initial inspiration came from his home studio in Vista, California. From his studio he has three magnificent views. In composing the piece he contemplated the three different views of the musicians, their three personalities and how they come together to speak the same language to say the same thing. In his liner notes for the album, respected classical producer and author John Schaefer describes the work as sprawling, almost narrative. A very small theme is explored separately by all three instruments, each arriving at the same melodic conclusion but at different points. Put together in almost a symphonic form, Vistas suggests a journey beneath big skies and far-off horizons, and finally, a return home. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1999 Composed By Mark O’ConnorOriginally released on Appalachian Journey featuring Mark O’Connor, Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer, Sony ClassicalVistas can be heard on Mark O'Connor's Crossing Bridges OMAC Recordshttps://omacrecords.com/omac-7-crossing-bridgesAlso on The Essential Mark O’Connor Sony Classical Catalogue Number MO143BCopyright © 1999 by Mark O’Connor Music InternationalFor more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:www.oconnormethod.com
