Some directors may prefer to use one electric bass in place of the entire acoustic bass section.  Students will need to learn the concept of swinging the eight notes as noted at the top of the score. Ranges are comfortable and mostly in first position allowing for younger players to manage this nicely.  The piano and drums parts are optional but will add greatly to the jazz flavor.
