He wrote primarily chamber and piano music. His hitherto unpublished Sonata for oboe and piano was written in 1969 and constitutes an important contribution to the rather small 20th-century oboe repertoire. The one-movement sonata is composed in free tonality and thrives on charming rhythmic turns borrowed from Hungarian folk music.
