It incorporates all 5 verses, beginning in Bb major and modulating to C major. (The 3rd verse is partially set in Bb minor.) Although arranged for advanced piano, it is not overly difficult. It would make a lovely prelude or special music for any church service. Note: This arrangement is included in my collection, “In Loving Memory,� also available on this site.

The piece has several verses, chorus, and includes a distinct and unique introduction. 2 page sketch chart is challenging but not overly so, and well worth the effort to learn. Fun tune to learn and improvise over.  I used it instrumentally in church for jam as a prelude, and recorded this version at home, and the jam was well received with an awesome drummer.  This website only allow one version.  Other to be published on itunes later. This is only the SCORE.  This piece is performed as a 2 part round.  It begins in unison and then splits into the round when the song repeats.  This way all students are playing together in unison before they experience the round.  All instrument parts can be bought separately and contain both lines of music.  They can also all be combined for mixed groups/ larger ensembles. There is no string bass part (only violin, viola, cello).My beginner students needed a Halloween group ensemble piece appropriate for their level.  So I made this arrangement of Frere Jacques in minor and named it Brother Skeleton.  The arrangement was written in 2022.

This is an arrangement for organ of the Brother James Air and the Welsh Hymn tune of CWM RHONDDA.  It is suitable for postlude in a church setting, or as a solo rendition.  It is of intermediate difficulty and can be performed on a modest instrument.  Full AGO pedalboard is recommended.  Note that this piece is arranged as an aaba stanza arrangement rather than the original aab triple stanza tune most current interpretations use.  It just seemed better balanced to me to add the 4th stanza.Dedicated to my oldest son Michael, who loves this hymn tune.

There are many existing arrangements, but most tend to be rather fancy (e.g. by Gordon Jacob and Alan Bullard), requiring four competent parts, or else it is simply sung as a congregation hymn. Here it is set for SABar choir so that it becomes more accessible to small parish choirs, who may lack tenors and basses. It has five verses, the second and fourth providing an opportunity either for a cappella or for accompanied part singing. The other verses are varied particularly by the piano, although the ending is also in parts.
