SATB chorus & piano - Grade 2 - Digital Download SKU: IZ.VMW185 Composed by Richard Sorce. Score. 6 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #VMW185. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.VMW185). 6.75 x 10.5 in inches. The text for this piece appeared in a small booklet of reflections by several writers, and while perusing several of these reflections I came upon, My Strength Is My Lord by Albert Norman Theel. That was 27 years ago. I contacted Mr. Theel asking for permission to set his text to music and he agreed. After the music was written, it sat in my collection of original manuscripts until Imagine Music Publishing agreed to publish it. I believe performers will find Mr. Theel's words inspirational. This work is an SATB setting with piano accompaniment. I consciously kept it brief. Nothing to detract from the lyrics. Perform it with expression and the message will unfold.

Percussion Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.935390 Arranged by Dan Heslink. Christian,Christmas. Score and parts. 16 pages. Pharaoh Publications #6117165. Published by Pharaoh Publications (A0.935390). Christmas Calypso for Marimba Quartet . . . . . . . . . . . . . . arr. Dan HeslinkThe calypso style referenced in the title is not the calypso of Afro-Caribbean music from Trinidad and Tobago. Rather, it is the especially toned-down but still rhythmic commercial variant popularized by folk singers. Couched in this style, the arrangement offers Christmas favorites Deck the Halls, Angels We Have Heard On High, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Good Christian Men, Rejoice.  This if one of two versions of the calypso arrangement by Dan Heslink, both of which are available through Sheet Music Plus. The other arrangement, for percussion sextet, follows similar musical contours and is available separately. Both versions are intended to elicit one primary response from both performers and audience – fun. It does not tax the players technically, but delivers a satisfying sound with carols that the performers likely know and love. General audiences will be enchanted by the familiar melodies delivered in percussion, especially at Christmas time.  The introduction opens with a brisk and rhythmic introduction based on Deck the Halls, and establishes the fun calypso rhythm immediately. Deck the Halls is the much-loved welsh air that was arranged by Haydn, Nos galan (Hob. XXXIb:29, 1803). Then, Angels We Have Heard on High breaks out in double-stops with a continuation of the rhythmic impetus. The birth of Jesus Christ as narrated in the Gospel of Luke is the subject of Angels We Have Heard on High, a traditional French song of unknown origin. The gloria section provides some flowing contrast, portraying the shepherds’ impressions as they encounter a multitude of angels singing and praising. The performers are encouraged to use a relaxed stroke to glide through these passages. Following is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, a 16th century English traditional Christmas carol also known under the title, The old Christmas Carol. It provides a contrast in tonality (minor mode) and texture. The xylophone part likely will lay most comfortably when executed with four mallets, although there are no three or four mallet chords in these passages. Good Christian Men, Rejoice is the closing selection in this Christmas medley. It’s title is an English translation of In dulci jubilo  (Latin for In sweet rejoicing). The work ends happily with a summation of the calypso rhythm.  This medley will be especially effective programmed on a winter holiday concert. Duration is 2:30. The arranger, Dan Heslink, assigned a difficulty level of medium easy, and can be contacted at dan@dheslink.com.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284109 By Wings. By Linda McCartney and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Kevin Riley. 20th Century,Film/TV,Pop. Score and Parts. 60 pages. Kevin Riley #875342. Published by Kevin Riley (A0.1284109). Live and Let Die is the theme song of the 1973 James Bond film of the same name, performed by the British–American rock band Wings. Written by English musician Paul McCartney and his wife Linda McCartney, it reunited McCartney with former Beatlesproducer George Martin, who produced the song and arranged the orchestra. McCartney was contacted to write the song by the film's producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli before the screenplay was finished. Wings recorded Live and Let Die during the sessions for Red Rose Speedway in October 1972 at AIR Studios. It was also the first rock song to open a Bond film. Another version by B. J. Arnau also appears in the film.Upon release, Live and Let Die was the most successful Bond theme up to that point, reaching No. 1 on two of the three major US charts (though it only reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100) and No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also received positive reviews from music critics and continues to be praised as one of McCartney's best songs. It became the first Bond theme song to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but ultimately lost the award to Barbra Streisand's The Way We Were. It won the Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s) at the 16th Annual Grammy Awardsin 1974.Wings performed Live and Let Die live during their concert tours and McCartney continues to play it on his solo tours, often using pyrotechnics during the instrumental breaks. It has been covered by several bands, including Guns N' Roses, whose version appears on their 1991 album Use Your Illusion I. One of the more popular covers of the song, their version was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performanceat the 35th Annual Grammy Awards in 1993. In 2012, McCartney was awarded the Million-Air Award from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), for more than 4 million performances of the song in the US.

Saxophone Ensemble,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Bass Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1140852 By Oscar Peterson. By Harriette Hamilton and Oscar Peterson. Arranged by James Pybus. 20th Century,Blues,Jazz,Praise & Worship,Spiritual. 39 pages. James Pybus #741106. Published by James Pybus (A0.1140852). Recognized as one of Oscar Peterson’s most significant compositions, Hymn to Freedom was written in 1962 and was swiftly embraced by people over the world as the anthem of the Civil Rights Movement. The piece was Peterson’s first major work and was written with encouragement from his producer and dear friend Norman Granz. During those initial recording sessions, Granz urged Peterson to create a tune with a “definitive early-blues feelâ€. For inspiration, Peterson drew upon various church renderings of Negro spirituals recalled from his childhood in Montreal. He aimed to maintain the unadorned, yet poignant quality of these early Baptist hymns while composing the beginning chorus of Hymn to Freedom. Upon its completion, Peterson and Granz decided that lyrics would complement the music and contacted Malcolm Dodds, composer, arranger and choir director of The Malcolm Dodds Singers, a backup group for many popular artists of the day. Dodds turned to his collaborator Harriette Hamilton, who had been writing lyrics for the choir group’s original compositions for several years. According to Hamilton, “all the lyrics had to do was express in very simple language the hope for unity, peace, and dignity for mankind. It was easy to write.†With Peterson on piano, Ray Brown on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums, the trio recorded the piece on Night Train (Verve 1962), which became one of their most commercially successful albums. Critical acclaim moved Peterson to record Hymn to Freedom on several albums that followed. This arrangement is playable by SATB Saxophone Quartet with optional Bass Saxophone, String Bass and Drums. For performances by SATB Saxophone Quartet without rhythm, the part marked Baritone Saxophone 2 (substitute Bass Saxophone) should be used. Some improvising is allowed for in the soprano, alto and tenor parts. Optional written solos are provided. This arrangement will enhance a wide variety of concert programmes and performance situations. The duration is 4:45. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869525 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 78 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #3112103. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869525). Instrumentation: 2222-2200-timp-stringsSteve Laven, cellist with the Boston Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, contacted me a month ago and asked if I would be interested in writing a work to help celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. I said, Sure!!! He said it would be nice if I would consider a concerto grosso in which the principal players of the orchestra would each get a feature. I agreed that that would be a fine idea. So, on June 18th, 2017, I started working on it. And since I am on summer vacation from teaching I was able to finished the 557-measure work on July 2nd, fifteen days after I started.  In 2018 just before I made plans to get the work recorded I made some revisions. One major change was that I cut the fourth movement out completely. It is now a mere 482 measures long. The work is now in three movements.  1. Introduction; Allegro 2. Presto 3. Largo Duration: ca. 17 minutes.YouTube link: https://youtu.be/xIMSFEd0p8oBandcamp link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/concerto-grosso-2017PS: This is the sixth work that the PACO has performed of my music.  1.
