There is narration in the recordings that tells the sweet story of how a young couple meet. Grandpa's Boots is a fast paced, rhythmic piece imitating an impromptu boot stomping dance performed to fiddle playing. There are parallel thirds, octave leaps, chord inversions, staccatos, accents, and complicated rhythms.
