How Are Things in Glocca Morra? is a popular song about a fictional village in Ireland, with themes of nostalgia and homesickness. It was introduced by Ella Logan in the original 1947 Broadway production of Finian's Rainbow. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added some pretty cool left-hand fills just for fun! We hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.506155 Composed by Bertolt Brecht, Kurt Weill, and Marc Blitzstein. Arranged by Alpin Smart (transcription for voice and guitar). 20th Century,Broadway,Classical,Musical/Show,Standards. Score. 5 pages. SmartWorks Publications #117713. Published by SmartWorks Publications (A0.506155). Brecht's 'Grand Guignol' masterpiece, Pirate-Jenny, was penned sometime before the idea of a 'play with music', based on John Gay's Beggar's Opera, was conceived. It was even set to music (to Brecht's own tune, which Weill used as the basis for the chorus in his setting). One of many 'greatest hits' from Brecht and Weill's Threepenny Opera - itself, a huge hit when premiered in 1928 in Berlin, and again, on Broadway, with English lyrics by Marc Blitzstein, it has absolutely nothing to do with the characters or the action in The Threepenny Opera! But, it was too good a song not to be used! Interpreted by greats, such as Nina Simone, among others, this song, like Mack the Knife and September Song, continues to wow generation after generation!

David McKeown #6501483. Published by David McKeown (A0.593781). Can You Feel The Love Tonight is one of the best loved songs from the 1994 Disney film The Lion King, reprised in both the Broadway stage show and the 2019 remake. This version is arranged as a solo for Flute with chord symbols for piano or guitar accompaniment. Written by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice, the version in the original movie was sung mainly by Kristle Edwards, with a closing credit version performed by Elton John himself. The song won both an Oscar and a Grammy in 1995.  Musicians at an intermediate standard will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances. Total performance time is around three minutes. This version of Can You Feel The Love Tonight contains elements from Elton John’s performance and also the film versions from both 1994 and 2019. Click on the YouTube link above to listen to a full performance of this arrangement played on Clarinet. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to approach playing with expression.
