Written by Lewis, it was released as the album's lead single in the United States in April 1996 and in the United Kingdom in August that year. Inspired by the novel 'Love for Lydia' by English author H. E. Bates, the lyrics of the song declare endless love for her significant other. The song was originally titled Lydia, but was later changed because there was no mention of anyone with that name in the song. The chorus, I love you always forever, near and far closer together, is a quote taken directly from the book. The success of I Love You Always Forever earned Lewis a nomination for Best British Female Artist at the 1997 Brit Awards and in 2016, a cover version of the song by Australian pop singer Betty Who peaked at number six on the ARIA Singles Chart and topped the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. Franck's Andantino in Ab (Pièces posthumes, No.33) - CFF 86This very sweet and lyrical melody originally written for organ (ca. 1858) sounds even warmer and more melodic played by string quartet or sax quartet.  Your audience will be rocking back and forth in their seats and smiling as they hum along with the gorgeous melody.While not a technically difficult piece, the song requires good blend and balance, and the lead part's range is somewhat challenging (playing to low Bb on the soprano or altissimo G on alto, sub for soprano).  I've also written an alternate alto sub part without altissimo notes for a more intermediate level quartet.The audio file is AATB, and starts at rehearsal letter E and plays to the end of the piece.

This blues was written with the artistry and spirit of the late jazz pianist Mulgrew Miller in mind.  Although impossible to truly replicate, I aimed to present a rendering of his soulfulness, advanced harmonic concept, and melodic inventiveness in this composition.  I had the distinct pleasure of taking a piano lesson with Mr. Miller as well as interviewing him for Chicago Jazz Magazine.  His passing was a major loss for the world of jazz piano.  This piece is intended to belong to a forthcoming collection of compositions inspired by jazz piano legends. .
