Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.947280 Composed by John Philips. Jazz. Score and parts. 36 pages. John Philips Music Service #3867733. Published by John Philips Music Service (A0.947280). This is a funky 2 beat built on double (24 bar) blues. It has an optional vocal,( cued in for alto sax) that should be sung thru a megaphone like the old Winchester Cathedral. The title comes from a pattern of speech found only in Chicago where people still say over by here and over by there. It swings well and invites a couple tambourines playing on 2 and 4. This is a fun chart but is very correct musically even if you expect the Blues Brothers to show up when it’s played. It can be opened for solos if needed. Don’t get too serious about the vocal, it’s best with your worst singer, maybe with a clothes-pin on his nose.   Enjoy it with your audience. If you want a Maynard or Buddy chart, look elsewhere. This series of charts uses nothing more complicated than eighth notes, are not frantic or screamers, extreme ranges and are hemi-demi-semi-quaver free. They depend on intonation and the players being not intimidated by what he is asked to play. There is no contest to see how high you can go before you need oxygen , how many notes you can play in 9 seconds or before your bell overheats , or how long it takes the audience to cover their earsRelaxed and confident players always play more in tune. Good harmonies, lines and realistic rhythm patterns will produce a good result that will swing and be enjoyed by player and listener alike.

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1036020 Composed by Brian Bennett, Bruce Welch, Hank Brian Marvin, and John Henry Rostill. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Blues,Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 21 pages. Derek Hasted #641118. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1036020). THE RISE and FALL of FLINGEL BUNT - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar. Derek Hasted writes What a wonderful title - the story behind the title is explained succinctly on the Wikipedia website. This bluesy piece by The Shadows makes a really accessible guitar quartet for an intermediate ensemble, and a foot-tapping crowd-pleaser for a school recital or as an contrasting item in an adult concert. There are some x-headed notes - simply clap your hands together on the beat and I am sure the audience will join in - they used to when the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra played it - frequently failing to clap at the right time at all!Guitars 2 and 3 are the easiest lines - perfect for the less-experienced players in a mixed ability group. Guitar 4 has a fun and funky bass line. Guitar 1 goes quite high, but I have presented the notes at pitch and also in 8va notation so that your reading of the “on-the-body-notes†is clear and error-free. The soundfile on the publisher’s website is that of Hampshire Guitar Orchestra live in concert.I hope you enjoy performing this!

Double Bass,Drum Set,Percussion,Piano and Keyboard,Tenor Saxophone - Level 5 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1227644 Composed by Reese Rosbrook. This edition: Interactive Download. Jazz. 10 pages. Duration 149. Reese_Rosbrook #6P4oLzKV6tnK36zxmQL5n3. Published by Reese_Rosbrook (A0.1227644). Key: Ab major. It's been a while since I've made a jazzy piece, and being inspired from a recent trip to New York City really brought the jazz out of me. This one is super special, because it describes what life is like in the city. The A section is your common stroll, let's say through Central Park or down the block. The beat never stops with anyone. Everyone just keeps walking, and this constant bass line represents that. The B section represents the unexpected. You decide to walk through the subway, encountering a man playing tunes on a funky guitar. The weird chords and rhythms emphasize the curiosity of the music you're hearing. And finally, the C section represents the city lights. Beautiful, aren't they? Yet, unusual at the same time, represented by the 7/4 time signature. (Which was my first time using that time signature, how do you think I did?) I had fun writing this. I'm currently working on a research paper on the Origins of Jazz, and it kind of got me into a Dave Brubeck mood. Thanks for listening! -Reese.
