3 treble soli and SATB choir (choir divisi) unaccompanied - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.7.0743-E Composed by Paul Rardin and Ruthie Foster. African American Heritage. 15 pages. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #7.0743-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.7.0743-E). UPC: 600313707438. English. This setting requires three treble soloists with power below the staff and confidence in the blues style. The choral backgrounds are deliberately sparse— imitating guitar, light organ, banjo— until a climactic group shout for the preacher. The music is driving and relentless, the singers are determined to be ready to go into the kingdom of God. The characters in this unique and compelling work— mother, sister, borther, neighbor, preacher, and finally self— remind us that we will all face this journey, so we had best live right and shout Hallelujah when our turn comes.

Brass Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.999619 Composed by Peter Benoit. Arranged by Marc Goris. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 15 pages. Brassery Publications #6025981. Published by Brassery Publications (A0.999619). The Duke of Alva's entry into Brussels from The Pacification of Ghent,  duration : 2 min music : Peter Benoit arr. : Marc Goris Peter Benoit composed music based on the historical drama with the title 'De Pacificatie van Gent' by Emiel Van Goethem. Because of the combination of drama and music he defined the piece as a lyrical drama. He completed The Pacification of Ghent on 11 July 1876, the world premiere happening on 3 September at the Ghent Municipal Theatre.   On 8 November 1576 a treaty was proclaimed from the balcony of the city hall in Ghent between the different regions of the southern and the northern Netherlands. This Pacification of Ghent occurred after the revolt against the Spanish occupation of Philip the Second and was the great ideal of William of Orange: he was striving for unity in the seventeen provinces in the Netherlands as well as for freedom of religion. Furthermore the treaty stipulated that the Spanish troops were to be removed from the Netherlands. Although this treaty was observed for only three years, the Pacification was embellished with a mythical aura in the Flanders of the 19th century. King Philip II sent the Duke of Alva to Brussels on 22 August 1567, at the head of a powerful army. On arrival, Alva replaced Margaret of Parma, the sister of the Spanish king, as head of the civil jurisdiction. He decided that the local nobility was in open rebellion against the king and supported the new Protestant teachings, heresy in his view. A few days later, on 5 September 1567, Alva established the Council of Troubles, popularly known in the Netherlands as the Court of Blood, to prosecute those responsible for the riots of 1566, especially those who were deemed heretics. Alba also targeted the local Catholic nobility, who favoured dialogue and opposed outside intervention. Two of the three heads of the Flemish nobility, the Count of Egmont, a Catholic General for Philip II, who had led the cavalry that defeated the French at the Battle of San Quentin, and Philip de Montmorency, Count of Horn, were arrested. The court sentenced both counts to death. The Major of Antwerpen, Anthony van Stralen, Lord of Merksem and Jan van Casembroot were other famous victims of the bloody repression, along with a large group of other heretics. The condemned persons were executed on 5 June 1568 in the Town Hall Square in Brussels. Alva had little confidence in Flemish justice, which he perceived as sympathetic to the defendants, and witnessed the executions in person.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.755301 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 23 pages. Sy Brandon #6287697. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.755301). Aurora was composed for Cristian Pastorello, Assistant Professor of Music at Aurora University. The name of the university where Dr. Pastorello teaches was the inspiration for this composition. Further research into the meaning and mythology surrounding Aurora gave rise to the individual movements. I. Goddess of Dawn – The music of this movement reflects a sunrise from its first hint of light to its full-blazed glory. II. Ravens - Spirit Guides – Many North American cultures believed that the Aurora Borealis represented spirits of departed ancestors. Ravens were often thought to be the conveyor of the spirit to the heavens. This movement is a scherzo and trio. The scherzo represents the dancing and playful spirits where the trio has an ethereal quality. III. Sister of the Sun and Moon - The Greeks held that Aurora was the sister of Helios and Seline, the sun and moon respectively, and that she raced across the early morning sky in her multi-colored chariot to alert her siblings to the dawning of a new day. This movement contains colorful harmony. The left hand plays a rising line representing dawn while the right hand represents Aurora racing across the sky through rapid musical motifs. IV. Celestial Battle Between Good and Evil - It is said that many of the early Chinese legends associated with dragons were a result of the Northern Lights. The belief is that the lights were viewed as a celestial battle between good and evil dragons that breathed fire across the firmament. Battle music dominates the first two-thirds of this movement before giving way to the triumph of good over evil.

Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1406728 By Dr. Sheri L. Masiakowski. By Sr. Theophane Hytrek OSF. Arranged by Dr. Sheri L. Masiakowski. 20th Century,Religious,Sacred. Score. 7 pages. School Sisters of St. Francis #989483. Published by School Sisters of St. Francis (A0.1406728). “The Spirit of the Lord”  Sr. Theophane Hytrek OSFDedicated to Robert Verwoert on the occasion of his ordination to the priesthood — May 1971Sr. Theophane Hytrek OSF earned her PhD in composition from the University of Rochester (Eastman School of Music) in 1955.  She is known for a variety of compositional genres, e.g. keyboard (organ and piano), voice, and orchestra. Compositions for voice include masses, responses, psalm settings, hymns for congregation, choral music and solos.TEXT:The Spirit of the Lord is upon us. Send your Spirit upon us in this time and place, the Spirit who gives us comfort, the Spirit who brings light to our eyes, the Spirit who helps us say yes to your summoning Word.Bless us, Father, as you have done before, with the gift of your Spirit that he may stir new life within us.Blest are you in ev'rything that your Spirit makes new, now and for all ages to come. The source of this text is unknown. Though appropriate for Pentecost there is no direct connection to the scripture readings or sacramentary prayers for that Feast. The composition was written in the early years succeeding Vatican II (October 11, 1962 – December 8, 1965), a time of creative freedom. The language is period specific to that time, yet the music is universal.Rehearsal recommendation:The verse text is notated in consistent eighth-notes. Do not interpret this to mean that all syllables are to receive equal time.  Speak the text in natural cadence and then sing the pitches in that same natural cadence.  This will best represent Sr. Theophane’s intention. We invite you to browse other creative works by the School Sisters of St. Francis on our website:  https://www.sssf.org/SSSF/Our-Global-Impact/United-States/Music-Ministry/Catalog-of-Music.htm  Further information about our offerings is available from Dr. Sheri Masiakowski, curator of the Heritage Music Collection, at smasiakowski@sssf.org.

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1166663 Composed by Traditional/Anonymous. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical,Early Music,Folk,Traditional. Individual part. 50 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #767044. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1166663). This is the thirtieth-third volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all  volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view.Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.Volume 33 (Songs 865-891)Tobacco Is An Indian WeedTom BowlingTom’s Gone to HiloTommy make room for your UncleTop of the Morning (the)Tramping SongTravel the Country RoundTree in the Wood (the)Trees they do grow High (the)Trees They’re All Bare (the)Trimdon Grange ExplosionTurmut-hoeingTurpin HeroTwo Magicians (the)Twa SistersTwankydilloTwelve Apostles (the)Twelve Days of Christmas (the)Twenty Eighteen Two Affectionate LoversTwo Brothers  (the)Unfortunate Tailor (the)Up the RawUp! But the chief reason why I composed it was in order to let Herr von Strack, who goes there every day, hear something of my composition; so I wrote it rather carefully.'.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927475 Composed by Annie Routley. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 7 pages. Christian Music Ministries #6306121. Published by Christian Music Ministries (A0.927475). Words and music by Annie RoutleyA setting of words from Hebrews 12:2 (chorus) with verses encouraging faith and hope in the midst of a painful situation.Sources of inspiration for this song were threefold: firstly the Scripture from Hebrews 12 was my baptism verse, on Easter Sunday 1979; secondly, from Corrie ten Boom´s ´The Hiding Place´, where her sister Betsy tells Corrie not to look at the wounds she´d received from the concentration camp guards, but to look instead at Jesus and fix her eyes on him; and thirdly, from C S Lewis´ ´The Magician´s Nephew´, where Digory wants so desperately for Aslan to cure his mother who is terminally ill, but the great Lion sets him a task instead which will protect all of Narnia for years to come; Digory is looking down at Aslan´s paws, his heart heavy, but as he looks up into the Lion´s face, what he sees there surprises him very deeply – for Aslan´s eyes are filled with tears. He realizes that Aslan cares even more deeply about Digory´s mother than he himself. For soloist, 4–part choir and piano accompaniment. Guitar chords also included. From the Roger Jones Song Collection (2010); originally from the collection ´Precious and honoured´ (1995). Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818283 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by edited by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Classical. Score. 14 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #4967139. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818283). Piano Sonata 40.2 Presto (Classical Music for Tablet Series) Franz Joseph Haydn was born in 1732 in a small village in Austria, near the Hungarian border. ♫ His father was a wheelwright and a leader of the town. His mother had been a cook in the palace of a Count. His father had taught himself to play the harp. His family was musical and often sang together (16 brothers and sisters). His father saw that he was extremely musical and that he couldn’t get the education he needed in his little village. When he was 6 years old, he was sent to the home of a relative about 7 miles away to study to be a musician. He never lived with his parents again. ♫ In 1752 he was employed by Count Karl Joseph Morzin, leading the Count’s small orchestra and writing the first of his symphonies. ♫ In 1760 he married Maria Keller. They had a very unhappy marriage, producing no children. ♫ In 1760 Count Paul Andre Esterhazy (one of the wealthiest and most important nobles in the Austrian empire) hired him as assistant director of music. In 1766 at the age of 34, Prince Nikolaus Esterhazy appointed Haydn his Director of Music. His job was divided between the Esterhazy palace in Austria their palace across the border Hungary. ♫ Haydn dedicated Piano Sonata 40 to Princess Marie Esterhazy. He worked for the Esterhazys for the next 28 years, writing hundreds of pieces of music for the prince. After about 15 years, he signed a new contract allowing him to write music for other customers. Haydn’s reputation grew to international fame. ♫ Haydn wrote 104 Symphonies. (Some count 107.) Not unlike George Washington, nicknamed the “Father of our Country”, yet had no children, Haydn is known as the “Father of the Symphony.” and the “Father of the string Quartet.” ♫ Napoleon captured Vienna in 1809. Napoleon, himself, ordered an honor guard be placed at Haydn’s home where Haydn lay dying. ♫ The Classical Music for Tablet Series offers piano masterworks by classical composers formatted to be read on 10 inch tablets. I use an Amazon Kindle with Mobile Sheets Pro and an Air Turn blue tooth foot pedal to practice and perform piano music. Similar products available to provide other tablets the same functionality. ♫ The pieces in this series have not been arranged, but most have been edited slightly, and have been formatted to fit this screen size. For example, in the tablet versions, first and second endings are often removed and the repeated measures and endings written into the music so the performer can avoid having to go back to previous pages. These kinds of section repeats were invented to spare the composer’s time and the cost of extra paper and ink. But with a tablet the cost of paper and ink is irrelevant. ♫ Although there are a lot more page turns with a 10 inch screen compared with letter size pages, the readability of the music (due to the backlighting on the tablet) and the portability of the music (travelling with a small tablet instead of oversized books or portfolios of sheet music) easily makes up for the extra page turns. ♫ Your purchase provides one .pdf file that contains both the tablet edition and the letter size page (printable) version. There are several programs available online that will allow you to separate this .pdf file into 2 .pdf files to make it more useful.
