Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.954012 Composed by Christopher Burnett. Jazz,Rock. Score and parts. 2 pages. BurnettPublishing.COM #3457579. Published by BurnettPublishing.COM (A0.954012). RACONTEUR (The Storyteller)A unique jazz-rock ballad for concerts and contests. Includes a flute and tuba player. Suitable for programming by both student and professional ensembles.RACONTEUR (The Storyteller) is a modern jazz-rock ballad composition written and arranged for a modified large jazz ensemble instrumentation. Parts for C Flute and Tuba are scored to add those unique timbres to the ensemble sound.Rather than feature a single instrument, the melody is purposely distributed throughout the ensemble. However, the musical focal point of the piece is intended to be the featured improvisation solo space provided for Bb Tenor Saxophone 1. Since each improvisation is original and unique, the music should retain a newness with each performance. A theory sheet is also provided for less experienced improvisers to enhance soloist creativity within the intended harmonic context.Scored for groups performing at the medium level (grade 2.5 - 3.0), the unique chord progression provides the soloist with myriad possibilities from which to construct improvisational melodies. Improvisation is a key element of jazz music. Thus, this improvised solo will also inherently impact the level and quality of the entire sound of each ensemble performance.Brass ranges are purposely kept very reasonable. Piano part includes through-composed material along with written chord voicings. Bass & Drum Set Guide share the same part in an effort to encourage the two players to interact rhythmically to enhance the jazz-rock groove feel of the piece. Rhythm section parts are annotated with chord symbols. Mockup available.ABOUT THE COMPOSERChristopher Burnett (b. 1955) is a critically acclaimed alto saxophonist, educator, leader, and composer who began his professional career with military jazz bands going pro directly upon graduating high school at 18 years old. Cellos - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1042144 Composed by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Carl Hüllweck. Children,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. Educational Exercises. 112 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #646942. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1042144). The Twenty-four Exercises for Two Cellos, Op. 159, by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer, continue and conclude the series dedicated to the neck positions. These, alongside the just published Twelve Original Pieces, Op. 58, cover the first four positions in all possible variations, using an incredible richness of forms, melody, harmony, and rhythm. After these thirty-six little gems, your students will be able to face much greater challenges with renewed strength and assertiveness. While Op. 58 focused mostly on Theme with Variations, Op. 159’s most used form is the rounded binary one, while no less than three full-fledged fugues enrich the practicing landscape. Due to the lack of the original manuscript, lost during Steiner & Bell’s acquisition of Augener & Co., this edition is based on two surviving editions, by Carl Hüllweck and Johannes Klingenberg, both published in the first decade of the XX century, about 40 years after Dotzauer’s passing. To provide you with the greatest flexibility and choice possibilities, this edition comes in several versions (only C available here, others available on Gumroad): - A: a score only one, based on Hüllweck; - B: two separate sets of parts, one per editor; - C: a score & parts bundle, based once more on Hüllweck; - D: finally, a Collector’s Edition, containing all this, plus a long chapter comparing all differences between Hüllweck’s and Klingenberg’s versions, and an interactive PDF where, at the press of a button, you will be able to switch to the other version of the current part! All PDFs have been optimised to be of the highest Press Quality and lightweight. I truly hope you are going to enjoy this beautiful music and that your cello playing will reach new heights thanks to it!

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1206223 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827). Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Contest,Festival,Wedding. 14 pages. Jmsgu3 #804421. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1206223). No. 2. Scherzo: Allegro.Beethoven's Bagatelles Op. 33 are quite typical of his early style, retaining many compositional features of the early Classical period.  The first bagatelle in particular is arguably one of Beethoven's most well-known pieces. While they may seem light-hearted and not to be taken too seriously, they are still well-crafted works that embody the younger Beethoven's style. The Bagatelles Op. 33 were composed by Beethoven in 1801-02 and published in 1803. Bagatelles are shorter and less complex than sonatas, often consisting of a single movement. They were intended to be played as light entertainment or as encores at the end of a concert. The Bagatelle No. 2 of Op. 33 follows a simple ternary form, with a lively and playful Scherzo character. The piece is in the key of C major and is written in 2/4 time signature. The A section is characterized by a catchy and rhythmic melody that is repeated twice, with slight variations in the second repetition. The B section, in the relative key of A minor, provides a contrast to the A section with a more lyrical and expressive melody. The B section is also repeated twice, with slight variations in the second repetition. The A section returns in its original form to close the piece. The piece is relatively simple in terms of harmony and texture, with a clear melody and accompaniment. However, Beethoven's use of repetition, variation, and elaboration creates a sense of unity and coherence throughout the piece.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533330 Composed by Marie-Agnès Nataf. Concert,Contemporary. Score. 7 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #2344341. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533330). Il fuoco rubato is one of the 3 pieces for piano solo Anamorphoses whose titles areBartoquade I, Bartoquade II b and Il fuoco rubato. These pieces can be linked together as awhole, in that order. The duration is of 5 minutes. They can also be played separately, orgrouped by two (Bartoquades I et II b, duration 3’). The same approach governs the writing ofthese compositions : taking model on works of the repertoire and transforming them as muchas possible while keeping a lot of important parameters. There are many cautionary accidentals. They are not enclosed in brackets to avoidoverloading writing. They are not systematically mentionned. In case of doubt, one willconsider the logic of the composition. When useful, one can distribute differently notesbetween the 2 hands on the condition of respecting the balance between voices. The sign *[on measure 80 means chromatic cluster (F-F#-G).  Marie-Agnès NATAF was born on March 2, 1952 at Issy-les-Moulineaux, in the suburbs of Paris, Before deciding to devote herself completely to music, she began by studying both mathematics and musics at the same time. She had a varied base in her musical training, which allowed her to understand the teaching of her main teacher Narcis BONET. She studied the piano, chamber music, musical analysis, harmony and also to a lesser degree the flute, counterpoint and conducting. As a pianist, she received a First Prize in Piano and in Chamber Music at the Orsay Conservatory, the Gold Medla at the National Music School of Cahcan and the Artist Diploma at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris – in the class of Germaine MOUNIER. For composition, she studied with Narcis BONET (who later invited her to the Conservatoire Américain of Fontainebleau as accompanist and teacher of French Diction), Yoshihisa TAÃRA, and Edith CANAT de CHIZY. Having taught for a time at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, she is currently professor of piano at the Conservatoire Erik Satie of Villebon-sur-Yvette, Marie-Agnès Nataf has a double career of performer and composer. In both areas, she is especially attracted to chamber music, for the rich musical and human exchanges that this type of music permits. She has written her works Trois mélodies sur des poèmes de Marie-Isabelle SOLANO, Révolte sans paroles and Elan brisé for her colleagues the mezzo-soprano Nicole PARAMYTHIOTTI and the flutiste Isabelle MARCHAL with whom he has given concerts for many years. As a performer, she has premiered works by composers such as Gian-Paolo CHITI, Gloria COATES, Jean-Marie MACHADO, Yoshifumi UMEZAWA, Miao Wen WANG, without speaking of her own compositions. She also tries to discover high quality works of music which are rarely performed, especially works by women composers such as Thérèse BRENET, Dianne GOOLKASIAN-RAHBEE, Ruth LOMON. Her principal works are Trois mélodies sur des poèmes de Marie-Isabelle SOLANO, for mezzo-soprano and piano, 8'30, 1981-83-86. Bartoquade I - Anamorphoses I, 1', et Bartoquade II b - Anamorphoses II, 2', for piano, 1990 revised in 2012. Il fuoco rubato - Anamorphoses III for piano, 2', 1991 revised in 2012. Révolte sans paroles for mezzo-soprano, flute and piano, 16'30, 2000. and Elan brisé and flute and piano, 6'30, 2005. In 2001, on the ocassion of the premier of Révolte sans paroles at the Centre Culturel Jacques Brel of of Villebon-sur-Yvette, she was invited to give a conference on her works at the Conservatoire Erik Satie. In April 2002, her songs were selected by the ensemble North /South Consonance directed by Max LIFCHITZ in a competition. B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549586 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 18 pages. Jmsgu3 #3511285. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549586). Duration: ca. 2:17 Score: 10 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 5 pages. A proven audience pleaser - perfect for a recital encore! Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. As a matter of fact, most music historians consider him one of the foremost Romantic era composers. Consequently, his music is part of the international standard classical repertoire. Grieg moreover used Norwegian folk music in his own compositions.  Consequently, he ushered Norwegian music to transnational consciousness. Furthermore, he forged a national musical identity for Norway. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and BedÅ™ich Smetana in Bohemia. Legacy Grieg is especially celebrated in the city of Bergen. For example, the city has erected numerous statues depicting Grieg. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. As a matter of fact, there is also a museum located at his former home in Troldhaugen. Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (Op. 46) Grieg wrote incidental music for the purpose of illustrating a play by Ibsen known as Peer Gynt. The play includes, in particular, the famous selection entitled, In the Hall of the Mountain King. In this composition, Grieg indeed depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, thereupon striking his skull on a boulder. He wakens forthwith in a highland bounded by angry gnomes. Consequently, the music of In the Hall of the Mountain King represents the mad gnomes taunting Peer. Therefore, each time the theme repeats it gets louder and faster. In the end, Peer surprisingly escapes from the mountain. Holberg Suite and Misc. Summary It must be remembered that Grieg originally wrote his Holberg Suite for the piano. In other words, he only later arranged it for strings. Further, Grieg composed by and large many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life.

Adagio in B Minor, K. 540 for Piano Solo (as interpreted by Víkingur Ólafsson). The Adagio in B minor, K. 540, is a composition for piano solo by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
