This arrangement adapted for baritone sax quartet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. Besides, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions. Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Meryton Townhall was used in the movie soundtrack of Pride and Prejudice 2005. The film composer, Dario Marianelli, used several period pieces of 
music for scenes in the movie. This is a lively festive dance that was originally composed by Henry Purcell who lived in the 17th century. It sounds
very folk-like and it's possible he heard it being played by a band and decided to formally write it down.
I took the original music and added a section to it that I composed which sounds stylistically right to give it a bit more length. This music
is great for wedding recessional or just if you want a lively background music piece for your reception or gig it is fun to play. I also did a trio
arrangement and you will find that on SMP as well. As of this writing I haven't. posted it yet.

Arrangement for SSATB and soloist of this Stevie Wonder classic, aimed to choirs that include jazz, rock or gospel in their repertoire.

The arrangement is very energetic and would fit any choral programme involving jazz, pop, rock soul and gospel arrangements. It has a very strong rhythmic feel that will likely make the choir and the audience to clap and dance! It has occasional (but optional) divisi in tenors in certain places. If features a contrapunctal interlude that leads to the last verses after a modulation, and a big finale after a final crescendo where the music explodes.

This arrangement was a commission from Coro da Rá, a choir specialized in jazz and Brazilian music. I’ve received it before I even knew about the tune, but I’ve poured my soul into it and I’ve enjoyed singing it while it lasted in the regular repertoire. I’d love to have it sung in other choirs around the world and hope you enjoy it as well.

‘Don’t want to miss a thing’, recorded by Aerosmith, and written by Diane Warren is a hugely popular rock ballad that was a number one hit in the USA. Selling over a million copies in the UK, it reached number four in the UK singles chart. Always a favourite for weddings, Capriccio Quartet recorded it for their repertoire, and it is a song that easily lends itself to a string arrangement.

I chose to stick to the original key of D, a great key for string players. At times I have thickened the texture by using double stopping. In this arrangement I have tried to use an open string wherever possible. In some cases there are bare fifths. If you prefer you can choose one of the notes to play instead, especially if this note is doubled in another part. I have also put in some bowing, but the endgame is to feel comfortable, so please feel free to change it and alter the slurring if it makes it easier. I have given the cellist some solos, but everyone in the quartet has some time in the sun in this arrangement. And   don’t be afraid to use open strings in this piece, especially in the semi- quavers. They sound great!

I am aiming this quartet at the professional market, for weddings and other events, but I am hopeful that younger players will also have the courage to try it, even if the intention is not to ever perform it but to have some fun! In 1965 I wrote this four movement sonata for myself on guitar and a bassoonist at the same College of Music. I completed it in January 1966. At the time I was in my 2nd year at College and very influenced by Bartok. In form, it follows traditional patterns but the harmonies were more mid-twentieth century. The first movement was played in a BBC competition in 1967 then not again until a former orchestral student of mine asked to play it for his RNCM finals a few tears ago. I've just typed it up into Sibelius and revised the second movement in places. Apologies to Andy - the second movement was sketched and not performed until he played it. I think it reflects where I was at musically at that stage and I still feel it is quite charming, if a little niche market! How can your trombone quartet gain more audience?

By playing with other people. You want your concerts to be well visited and to help you with that, I make arrangements (and compositions) for trombonequartet with guitar, piano, bass and drums. They also contain an optional bass-trombone/ tuba part and sometimes a solo part. This one contains a trombone solo part.

This arrangement of A Whole New World, is scored for Solo Trombone in front of the ensemble mentioned above.  There are two solo parts in the set. One high and and one low. You can combine those two if that makes you more comfortable. Durata: 3,5 minutes (approx.)

The song itself is about Alladin taking Jasmine on a ride on the magic carpet. The lyrics are all about discovering what you didn’t know about and be grateful for all the adventures life gives. This makes it a perfect piece to play in a variety of places, like weddings, celebrations of any kind, graduations, not to mention many types of concerts.

With a few adjustments you can also use parts of this arrangement and make it work. It’s most powerful when you use the whole band, but it still makes a lot of sense if you have to skip some of the parts. There are so many times I have had to skip a piece in a concert, using a not as good substitute, because we didn’t have the people to play it.
