FROM THE PREFACEThe fourth volume of Renaissance music for classical guitar contains twenty mostly well-known and a few more rare intermediate Renaissance pieces taken mainly from lute and vihuela sources. I have tried to keep the upper level of technical difficulty to the contemporary grade VI level of the A.B.R.S.M. which takes the student to the advanced level (grades VII-VIII).The pieces are given in two versions, first as decorated pages in ordinary notation, and then the same pieces are again given in undecorated pages of notation and tablature. Therefore each volume contains two books in one and the choice is left to the user whether to keep the volume as presented, or to construct his own book by inclusion or deletion of unwanted pages, blank pages, etc, for use either as a printed or a tablet-screen book version. Nel finale, però, rivolgendosi all’attuale compagno, la donna chiarisce che l'amore vero può esistere perché un uomo può davvero cambiare se innamorato.L’arrangiamento, per 5 voci miste (SMzATB) prende spunto dalla versione di Alessandro Cadario di Almeno tu nell’universo per coro femminile.Il brano parte dunque con un unisono di voci femminili che via via si aprono in 3 sezioni.Il piano regge l’armonia in queste prime 2 strofe.Gli uomini entrano solo nella battuta che precede il ritornello per sostenere il crescendo sulla dominante minore che risolve nella tonica maggiore.Nel ritornello l’armonizzazione è a 4 voci (SATB) con finale all’unisono con accordo vuoto del pianoforte per rendere la tristezza del testo (vanno a ridere di te).La seconda parte è pensata invece come un accompagnamento strumentale delle voci che alternandosi creano un arpeggio armonico. Al termine del secondo ritornello, un rallentato deciso e una modulazione secca che determina la revisione dell’andamento armonico delle parti centrali. Piccolo gioco con le parole a batt. 60 e finale classicheggiante.

Rimasta incompiuta per la morte dell'autore, avvenuta il 5 dicembre 1791, fu completata successivamente da Franz Xaver Sussmayr.L'opera è legata alla controversa vicenda della sua morte avvenuta il giorno successivo al completamento delle parti vocali del Lacrimosa. Stendhal parla di un anonimo committente che incaricò Mozart, malato e caduto in miseria, di comporre in quattro settimane una messa da requiem, dietro compenso di cinquanta ducati. Completato quasi certamente entro la quaresima del 1792, il Requiem venne ritenuto per un certo periodo opera del solo Mozart anche per il fatto che la calligrafia di Süssmayr risulta essere molto simile a quella di Mozart: fino agli inizi degli anni novanta del XX secolo si riteneva infatti che l'indicazione, posta in testa alla prima pagina, recitante di me W.A Mozart mppa. 1792 fosse stata apposta da Mozart stesso.Fu probabilmente solo con l'edizione a stampa di Andrè del 1827 che parte dei dubbi vennero fugati: forse per la prima volta nella storia della musica, una partitura venne pubblicata con un commento critico nel quale si tentava di stabilire con certezza ciò che è certamente di Mozart e ciò che è di pugno d'altri; l'edizione Breitkopf indicò poi con una M il materiale sicuramente mozartiano e con una S quello attribuito a Süssmayr.Leggendo il testo si può capire quanta intensità e potenza è racchiusa in questa composizione:Dies irae, dies illa, Solvet saeclum in favilla, Teste David cum Sibylla.
