Connie Boss #906529. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1317838). This is an original song I composed about the Wisemen coming from the East searching for the infant King. When they saw the star, they knew they had to follow it. It is a great song for Epiphany. It contains 3 verses and a bridge. If you think it's too long, you could cut out the bridge. This is for SATB with optional parts for flute, cello and violin accent instruments and piano. It can be sung with solo for verses, adding the harmonies for the refrain and bridge and final ending. email cdboss@cvalley.net for requests or questionsLyrics below:They Saw a StarVerse 1:Three wisemen came from the eastA desert camel, their traveling beastThey traveled far, they traveled wideSearching for the infant child. Then they looked toward the sky….. Refrain:They saw a star, They saw a star, They saw a starLighting up in the darkest nightThey saw a star, They saw a star, They saw a starOh …..what a wondrous sight Verse 2:They followed where the light shown downAnd came upon a tiny townThen they scarce believed their eyesWhere it stopped a big surpriseThen they looked toward the light…… Refrain: Verse 3:A crowd of people gathered roundIncluding shepherds kneeling downTheir flocks of sheep by their sideThen the noise would subsideThey made it to the light……. Bridge:They saw the tiniest of KingsLying in a mangerHis mother was close by His sideKeeping him from dangerHe was the son of GodThe greatest King of KingsThe wisemen brought from their landsThe greatest gifts they could bring. Final Refrain:

String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.861937 Composed by Mark O'Connor. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 40 pages. Mark O'Connor Musik International #6208189. Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.861937). Harmony (score – violin and string orchestra) MO168AScore (parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor35 pages - 12:00 minutes in length Harmony Musicians For Harmony, an organization founded in response to the tragic events of 9/11, asked me to compose a chamber orchestra piece for their September 11, 2006 concert in New York City . I have composed Harmony for this remembrance concert. What I wished to do in composing this music was to reveal a more Middle Eastern tonality to my style which is derived from American folk fiddle music. As I become more and more familiar with American music in my own musical journey, I also learn that the music I like so much has many layers. It exposes mystery in its origins when one cares to peel back these layers. It is likely these Middle Eastern cultures play more of a role in American fiddling (and American music in general) than previously thought. In Harmony I use descriptive phrases printed in the score to indicate the temperament and journey of the music. Reaching Out begins the piece with its inviting and inquisitive drones. Throughout the piece there are several interpretations of the material with canonic and fugal writing. The music of Harmony is based on the same material constructed in a slow tempo in the beginning, a moderate tempo in the middle of the piece, and a fast fiddling tempo near the end. With hope in heart and music, I contribute Harmony on this painful day of remembrance.  Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 2006 Composed by Mark O’ConnorCommissioned by Musicians For HarmonyFor the 5th Anniversary Concert for Peace 2006Merkin Hall, New York, NY – September 11th, 2006  Catalogue Number MO168ACopyright © 2006 by Mark O’Connor Music International For more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:www.oconnormethod.com

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1144944 By Mark G. Turner. By Mark G. Turner. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Romantic Period. Score. 2 pages. Mark G. Turner #745262. Published by Mark G. Turner (A0.1144944). The Tumbling Stream Through The Forest Shadows, an original piano composition, seeks to present the listener with an experience of forest mystery. The right hand chordal pattern, being somewhat repetitive, represents the sound of a small mountain stream gently descending through a shadowed forest. The melodic stylings of the left hand, increasing in lyrical complexity, represents the mysteries found in the forest depths. It is a piece of only moderate difficulty in its structure but the opportunity for a very advanced technique, sensitive application of dynamics, and lyrical phrasing provides an opportunity for the superior pianist to present a masterful performance.

Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1122297 By Chet Baker. By Jerome Kern and Buddy da Sylva. Arranged by Liz Garnett. A Cappella,Barbershop,Standards. Octavo. 5 pages. Liz Garnett #723455. Published by Liz Garnett (A0.1122297). The first chorus of Jerome Kern's classic is conceived to be delivered in a free-flowing, conversational ballad style. It’s chord choices cast the song in a yearny, poignant light; sung from the point of view of someone who is currently finding things hard. Looking for the silver lining as courageous moral effort rather than an act of easy optimism. It then moves into tempo to the place of joy that the lyric promises as its goal. Syncopation and interchange between the parts bring musical sparkle to express lightness of spirits. The tag returns to the original tempo and feel, revealing the joy to be a vision rather than reality, but one which provides hope: we’ll find it some day. This version of the arrangement was designed to be suitable for barbershop contest. It is notated in in treble and bass alta (i.e. sung an octave higher than written) clefs. Vocal Ranges: Tenor: F4 - F#5 Lead: A3 - D5 Bari: B3 - D5 Bass: D3 - f4.
