O Teatro do absurdo foi a designação criada em 1961 pelo crítico húngaro radicado na Inglaterra, Martin Esslin (1918-2002), tentando sintetizar uma definição que agrupasse as obras de dramaturgos de diversos países, as quais, apesar de serem completamente diferentes em suas formas, tinham como ponto central o tratamento inusitado de aspectos inesperados da vida humana. Essas obras estavam focadas em questões existencialistas e tentavam expressar o que acontece quando a existência humana é tida como sem sentido ou sem propósito, resultando na dissolução das comunicações. (Wikipédia) Esperando Godot, de Samuel Beckett é conhecida por sua falta de trama (Nada acontece, ninguém vem, ninguém vai, é horrível!), onde dois velhos sob uma única árvore fazem piadas para passar o tempo e refletir sobre o estado da existência humana enquanto esperam Godot – quem nunca vem. Um clássico do absurdo. Esperando Godot é uma peça simples de entender a descrição, sendo os velhos os instrumentos de cordas e o sintetizador seria o Godot. Então seria Godot uma pessoa ou nada? Por que o nada deveria ter um nome? Nada é nada, e por que ele deveria ter um nome, poderia esse nome transformar o nada em um ser? Mas, o nada existe? A espera de Godot é o mesmo que esperar o nada, pois as vezes ficamos sentados esperando por algo, e sem saber o que é esse algo, a gente sempre espera por algo que queremos muito, no fundo a gente sabe o que está esperando, talvez Godot seja essa sensação de espera. sintetizador poderia expressar essa sensação de espera, você pensou que ele ia fazer alguma coisa diferente do que tocar a mesma nota? A propósito, na partitura finalizada, esse sintetizador não para de tocar, eu fiz um pequeno corte para inicia-lo no finale, porque o midi chegava em um determinado momento a parar de tocar, eu não consegui resolver isso, mesmo reescrevendo todas as notas. Então é isso, o sintetizador toca a nota B do começo ao fim sem interrupção.
