Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1468452 Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Classical,Romantic Period,Wedding. 10 pages. RayThompsonMusic #1046771. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1468452). Arranged wind quintet.Chopin wrote 21 nocturnes for solo piano between 1827 and 1846. They are generally considered among the finest short solo works for the instrument and hold an important place in contemporary concert repertoire. Although Chopin did not invent the nocturne, he popularized and expanded on it, building on the form developed by Irish composer John FieldThis is probably Chopin's best loved Nocturne, if not his best known piece.Unlike other arrangements you may find, my arrangement shares the melody amongst flute, clarinet and oboe. The horn provides harmony throughout, has one bar of solo, and takes the bass line for a time. The bassoon provides a mainly sustained bass line, as an impression of the piano pedal, rather than isolated quavers.I have NOT  simply copied Chopins original quaver figures (in the original left hand piano) but have created an original piece as though it had been composed for wind instruments! The quintet do NOT play TUTTI all the time: this gives a more interesting and varying sound palette.ENJOY.

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1189647 Composed by Simon James. Classical,Contemporary,Instructional. Individual part. 5 pages. DML #789280. Published by DML (A0.1189647). These short Preludes for guitar are intended to illustrate a particular technical point or points. It may be either technical or compositional or both and I would have to say that I have been influenced by Tarrega’s Preludes which he wrote mostly for his students and so have called them Preludes rather than Studies. I learnt Tarrega’s pieces such as Adelita and Lagrima early in my study of the guitar and always enjoyed their nature as both technical exercises but also performance pieces. I have tried to emulate that with these pieces. This Prelude is based on the use of thirds and sixths on the guitar. These intervals are the easiest to play on guitar and the sweetest sounding though they can still be used dramatically as in this work. The middle section, or B section if you prefer, uses chords with dissonance built into the chord shape and which are also not too difficult to play.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811809 Composed by Tomaso Albinoni (1671 - 1751). Arranged by Edited & arranged by Pat Spence. Baroque,Concert,Graduation,Instructional,Standards. 24 pages. Piper Publications #6434263. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811809). This is the seventh of a set of twelve trio sonatas composed by 1694 and published in Amsterdam around 1695 by Estienne Roger. The sonatas  composed for two violins and continuo for cello and organ were widely circulated in Europe and were greatly admired by Johann Sebastian Bach. This edition is an arrangement for flute, oboe & clarinet in Bb for players of intermediate standard and above who want to play music in authentic period style on modern instruments. In editing the seventh trio sonata obvious minor copying errors have been corrected without comment. Musical notation has been modernised. e.g. tied notes have replaced dotted notes where they cross a main accent or bar/measure line. Dynamic markings have not been added except when required to match the other parts. These are shown in parentheses ( ). Suggested phrasings are shown with dashed lines and all trills and mordants are edits. These are included as starting point suggestions and players should feel free to experiment with other ornamentation and choose their own dynamics.Changes of register have been made to suit the range of the wind instruments.

French Horn Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767350 Composed by Mike Lyons. Concert,Contemporary. Individual part. 7 pages. Lyons Music Services #3520235. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767350). This is my third new sonata for unaccompanied French horn. it has three movements as follows:   Movement 1: Dance It begins with a crotchet theme which forms the basis of the rest of the movement. The opening should be stately and measured, but not slow. The echoes should be as quiet as possible for each statement of the opening motif. I have made a lot of use of rhythmic features in this movement. After the Maestoso, the 12/8 section is in the nature of a jig, with lots of repeated pitches and very rhythmical There's much use of syncopation. After I have played around with these ideas (intervals based on the opening) there is a more legato tune, also based on the opening music, but in a grander style and marked nobilmente. This is almost a processional, and leads to a reprise of the jig motifs in a new mode and with modifications to the rhythm. The second movement of this sonata is a set of 3 variations on an original tune. The melody is quite hymn-like and needs to be played as such. Very legato, with very slight tongue. Variation 1 is an 8th note variation, with a slight increase in tempo to help it to flow. The player will need to pay close attention to the written phrasing so as not to lose the theme. This variation is p throughout. Variation 2 is a triplet/sextuplet variation, again with a slight increase in tempo. This variation has turns, which I have written out in ossias above to be clear how I would like it to be played. Variation 3 is a semiquaver and glissando variation, requiring good tongue technique and clear phrasing. Breathing should be easy as I have made provision for breaths to mark the ends of phrases. Please don't change these! Finally, there is a restatement of the original theme with slight adaptations to bring the movement to a quiet finish. The third and final movement of the sonata is a rondo. The opening music keeps returning throughout the length of the movement. It comprises a stuttering rhythmic phrase with alternating upwards and downwards scales which gradually build up throughout the opening of the movement. Each time the ritornello idea returns it has been altered in some way. Between the ritornelli are slightly less frenetic sections of cantabile melodic ideas which hark back to both the first and second movements as well as referencing the scalic ideas from the third movement. Although the music is fast, it should be playable without resorting to triple tonguing.
