Published by Judith Cloud (A0.981211). 24 Italian Songs and Arias for 21st-Century Singers, No. 20 Nel cor più non mi sento The iconic Italian songs have served as the foundation for countless singers for over a hundred years.  My settings are an accessible alternative and will provide teachers with new tools for their students’ technical and musical advancement.  They offer a welcome change both melodically and harmonically and many have a limited range with a comfortable tessitura. Most of the songs are brief, lasting around two minutes.  Another attractive feature is the inclusion of a literal English translation directly above the Italian.  I believe these songs will be successful for auditions and in recital settings, both informal and formal.  My hope is that over time, these 24 Italian Songs and Arias for 21st Century Singers will take their place beside the originals for the establishment of a solid vocal technique.

Satie: Gymnopédie No. 1 arranged horn in F and pianoProbably Erik Satie's best known work, written originally for piano.This piece has been arranged many times on this site and elsewhere for varying instruments.In other arrangements the solo instrument takes the melody all the way through.My arrangement differs in that, for the 2nd verse the melody is shared between the horn and piano, and played together at the end.This I feel gives interest and variation to the piece. I have transposed it into F from the original D....this puts the horn in a better range. I have also suggested some muting (both hand and actual mute) to add to the atmosphere of the piece.Check out my other Satie arrangements.

They are a contemporary arrangement of movements from the Five Wind Divertimentos for 3 basset horns, K. 439b which Mozart wrote in 1783.The Divertimentos are notable for their conciseness of form and their melodic richness. Each divertimento has 5 mvts.They therefore make an excellent introduction to Mozart's piano music, even though they are not completely typical of Mozart's piano writing. We do not know for certain who made the arrangement, but Alexander Weinmann has shown that it was probably Ferdinand Kauer. The order of movements is not the same as in the original; moreover, some of the Trios have been exchanged and recapitulations have been shortened in some instances.Thry are in varying keys, unlike the original divertimenti, so my arrangements reflect thus.This is my arrangement for  mixed wind trio of Sonatina No.4 in Bb major.There are 3 movements: Andante grazioso Menuetto and Trio Rondo

The C major Romance is a tender, adagio cantabile movement full of beauty, requiring grace, poise and elegance to perform properly.  It has been said that it could have been titled Song Without Words, the music being so lyrical of character. 'Romance' may have been written as a slow movement to a Violin Concerto that  was never completed.  This arrangement by Gordon Cherry is a wonderful addition to the Tuba & Bass Trombone repertoire. Almost 10 minutes in length, this work for advanced performers will be a great addition to any recital.

Corporon #960264. Published by Joseph I. Corporon (A0.1375725). The Adagio Cantabile from Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8, Opus 13 Pathetique has been arranged for String Orchestra by Joseph I. Corporon.The hauntingly beautiful opening theme is played by the Violas with accompaniment by Cello and Bass. When the melody is restated it is doubled in Violin 1 and Violin 2 joins the accompaniment. The equally sonorous second theme is played by Violin 2. Each instrument has a substantial part to play in this excellent adaption of the Beethoven sonata. The arrangement remains in the original key of Ab Major.This arrangement is dedicated to Dr. Michael Rickman, Professor Emeritus at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Dr. Rickman and Joseph Corporon have been personal friends and performing colleagues with The Daytona Solisti Chamber Players since 2005.
