Choral Choir,Choral (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1346944 Composed by Albert Phillip Mc Kay, Maurice White, Paul Russell, and Sean Cook. Arranged by Jacob Klingsten. 21st Century,A Cappella,Broadway,Contemporary,Hip-Hop,Musical/Show. 12 pages. Jacob Klingsten #931731. Published by Jacob Klingsten (A0.1346944). Lil Boo Thang by Paul Russell is a 2023 top track with a positive, energetic atittude. This arrangement is for TTBB acapella groups, and sits at an easy difficulty for high school/collegiate groups. While there isn’t a vocal percussionist part in the score, it is recommended to perform this arrangement with one. This arrangement features a hype-up kind of energy like no other while being quite repetitive and fun to sing with doubled spoken parts. Additionally, there are multiple opportunities for the ensemble to get the crowd excited, with suggestions such as freestyle dancing and clapping in the score. This piece is a great way to start or end your program or even a set within your repertoire!Additional Details: Key: C Major 12 Pages Length: 1m 55s Ranges Soloist: C3-C4 (E4) T1: G3-A4 T2: G3-F4 B1: E3-C4 B2: G2-G3 If you would like the score changed to fit your ensemble's needs, the practice tracks to this piece once purchased, or if you are looking to have a new arrangement commissioned for your ensemble, please let Jacob Klingsten, the arranger, know at jacobkarranging@gmail.com. He will change the score to your needs (within reason) and provide practice tracks at no additional charge to your purchase, and he typically charges $50-75 per commissioned arrangement. String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1403057 Composed by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847), Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel (1805-1847). Arranged by Stephen Levintow. 19th Century,Romantic Period. 29 pages. Cypress Publishing #986241. Published by Cypress Publishing (A0.1403057). The Lieder for voice and piano by Felix Mendelssohn, while of high quality, have mostly been overshadowed by those of his contemporary and friend Robert Schumann. But his Lieder ohne Worte (Songs Without Words) for piano solo with no vocal text, were and remain immensely popular, and had a great influence on his fellow composers, creating a genre of short poetic pieces for piano accessible to skilled amateurs and students as well as professionals. This set of four arrangements for string quartet begins with the best known and most loved of his vocal songs, Auf Flügeln des Gesanges (On Wings of Song), a setting of a poem by Heinrich Heine. Following are two Songs Without Words, a fine untitled one in G Major, and the famous Frühlingslied (Spring Song). In between them is a piece by his older sister, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, an accomplished composer with a catalog of over 450 works, some of which were originally published under Felix’s name. Like Felix, she wrote Lieder both with a sung text, and with no words, which she called Lieder für das Pianoforte. This little jewel is one of the latter, from her Opus 8. She gave it the title Lied (Lenau), a reference to the poet Nikolaus Lenau (1802-1850). But with neither sung text nor poem title indicated, it is a little mysterious. A gentle sinuous melody leads to some bold modulations before returning, not in the expected tonic key but on the dominant. Only in the last few bars does it resolve to the home key. The arrangement transposes the original D-Flat Major to D Major, which lies better for strings. CYPRESS PUBLISHING is pleased to be the imprint for arrangements for string ensemble by Stephen Levintow. He is a free lance professional violist and violinist specializing in chamber music, who began making string quartet and trio arrangements for wedding, party and corporate events, to expand the repertory or to improve on existing versions. Selections include unusual pieces by both familiar and lesser-known composers, plus standard classical and popular favorites. The goal is to produce high-quality, musically satisfying arrangements faithful to the composer’s original material, yet sight-readable in most cases by working professionals or intermediate to advanced students. The full range of normal string technique is employed, while avoiding unnecessary technical complexity. Melodic material is distributed throughout the four voices where appropriate, to maintain listener and performer interest. All parts and scores are set in Sibelius© software format, with careful attention to legibility and page turns.

Piano,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549216 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468006. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549216). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.   Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.   Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands            Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival               Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.  Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1093770 Composed by F. Leslie Smith. Folk,Holiday,Traditional. Score and parts. 57 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #697853. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1093770).      The dictionary defines revel as “a time or instance of carefree fun.†The verb tipple refers to the imbibing of spirits. A tippler is one who drinks beer, wine, whiskey or other such spirituous liquids. So a tipplers revel would be a gathering of folks who, in the words of Dolly Parton’s “Two Doors Down,†are “laughing and drinking and having a party.†     This Tipplers Revel is a compilation of traditional drinking songs. It begins and ends with that bane of school trips, faculty sponsors, bus drivers and chaperones, “99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.†And between those two bookends come “Rye Whiskey,†“Little Brown Jug,†“Landlord, Fill the Flowing Bowl,†“Jimmy Crack Corn,†“Beer, Beer, Beer (An Ode to Charlie Mops, The Man Who Invented Beer),†“Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight,†“Wein, Weib und Gesang [Wine, Woman, and Song],†“Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes,†“There Is a Tavern in the Town,†“Good Night, Ladies,†“How Dry I Am,†and brief quotes from about a half dozen other melodies associated with quaffing.      For the most part, this arrangement’s time signature is 4/4 and should be played at about 120 BPM. There are, however, two sections of 3/4 time, one of which is marked “tempo di valse,†and the opening and ending few measures should be played rather slowly.      The music should be well within the normal range of the group. Possible exceptions: trumpets play their A above the staff a couple of times.      There are quite a few 16th notes in the allegro sections. (And one could make the argument that at least two sections ought to have been written in 6/8 time. But they weren’t.)      Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 6 minutes, 43 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)

Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1128114 Composed by Igor Korneitchouk, Chad Mealey. 20th Century,Comedy,Contemporary,Spiritual. 28 pages. Studio at the Post #728730. Published by Studio at the Post (A0.1128114). Duration: variable for each piece, 18 pp. Description: Seven works by the group touch me hear. Feel the art hear the art be the art. At the turn of the century (20th to 21st century, for you music history buffs) Igor Korneitchouk and Chad Mealey formed the group touch me hear with friends Dennis Aman and Jim Soe Nyun, and, with technical and musical assistance of various music faculty and students of San Diego Mesa College, presented concerts of new conceptual music/conceptual art/performance art. (The taxonomy and distinctions between such categories can be debated; we leave it to those who like to create new theory to follow our new practice.) The group was dedicated to the idea that such new music can and should be presented to an appreciative yet unsuspecting audience that rises to the challenge when put to the test. Indeed, a major feature of many of the works exhibited relies on the performance by the audience to entertain us and themselves. Thus, down comes the fourth wall. If you truly listen, as John Cage would encourage, the conceptual can sound just as fascinating, the visual display just as spectacular, the serendipitous theater just as dramatic, as the idea is imaginative. “Music is all around us, if only we have ears...†(to quote John Cage). Here are some of the original works of those concerts. Ironically, one in particular dispenses with the idea of an “audienceâ€. It is the tree that falls in the forest (or desert) no one hears. NO RECORDINGS OF ANY OF THESE PIECES EXIST; BE THE FIRST TO RECORD THESE!

Saxophone in Eb and piano - easy to intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q12428 Military March No. 1. Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Wolfgang Birtel. This edition: Sheet music. Edition Schott - Single Edition. Downloadable. Op. 39/1. Schott Music - Digital #Q12428. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q12428). A 'Last Night of the Proms' without this march – unthinkable! 'Pomp and Circumstance Military March No. 1' with its middle section, the hymn-like 'Land of Hope and Glory' by Edward Elgar (1857–1934), belongs to the finale of the London music event like the Radetzky March usually played as last piece to the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The fame and popularity of the other four military marches composed by Elgar between 1901 and 1907 fade in comparison to this secret national anthem of Great Britain (although strongly rivalled by 'Rule, Britannia!'). It is, indeed, an equally rousing and catchy piece of music, and the catchy tune in the middle has just become a classical 'hit'. Thanks to the present edition, all those who do not have a large symphony orchestra at home can now play this rousing march by themselves.

Mark O'Connor Musik International #6202181. Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.861803). Poem For Carlita (violin part – vln, vla, cel) MO142BViolin Part  (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor7 pages - 8:30 minutes in length Poem For Carlita In contemporary vocal music, there is a form called a story song. It is an odd form in that it does not contain any departure from the central idea; therefore there is no return. The story has a beginning and ending but uses subtle variation to push the idea along its way. .. much the way loving relationships evolve. The equivalent of the story song in classical music is a Poem, and this is what I have called this piece. An inspiration I used for my musical poem was the ocean and it’s repetition of waves as they fall in to the shoreline. I grew up near the ocean and remember how the sounds of the relentless waves used to calm me. While it was the repetitive sound of the sea that moved me as a child, today, I observed that each wave was not the same but in fact slightly different. I was amazed that it seemed that no two waves looked or sounded the same to me. This natural occurrence seemed to mirror my love for wife Carla. Each day was just something a tiny bit different. It was very natural to make these kinds of life experience connections. Bridges that joined nature, love and art. The poem begins slowly and inquisitively and builds through in intensity with loud and mightily passionate moments of emotion before the music comes down peacefully and reflectively, until the last statement played by the violin signifies that the sea is calm once again. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1998 Composed By Mark O’ConnorOriginally released on Appalachian Journey featuring Mark O’Connor, Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer, Sony ClassicalPoem for Carlita can be heard on Mark O'Connor's Crossing Bridges OMAC Recordshttps://omacrecords.com/omac-7-crossing-bridges Catalogue Number MO142BCopyright © 1998 by Mark O’Connor Music InternationalFor more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:www.oconnormethod.com
