Josquin's chamber music and duets are renowned for their complexity and beauty, and they remain some of the most influential and admired works from the Renaissance period.Josquin Desprez is widely regarded as one of the most influential composers of the Renaissance period. His innovative use of counterpoint and canon helped to revolutionize the musical landscape of the time. Counterpoint is a technique of combining two or more independent melodies in a way that creates harmony and a cohesive musical texture. Josquin was a master of this technique, often combining multiple voices in complex contrapuntal textures. His use of canon, or round, was also highly influential. Canon involves two or more voices repeating the same melody in different registers and often with different rhythms. Josquin wrote canons in various styles and forms, including the popular “circular canon” and the more complex “strict canon.” He was also an early adopter of the “inverted canon” form, in which the same melody is repeated but in an inverted form. Josquin’s use of counterpoint and canon had a lasting impact on the development of Western music and helped to establish the foundation for many of the musical forms and techniques still used today.Contents: I. Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.791978 Composed by Sy Oliver. Arranged by Oliver/La Barbera. Broadway,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Standards. Score and parts. 26 pages. Deaver Enterprises ASCAP #399191. Published by Deaver Enterprises ASCAP (A0.791978). Not So Quiet Please is one of five transcription/Arrangements (Carioca, Hawaiian War Chant, Well Git IT, Oop Bop Sh' Bam) I did for the Buddy Rich Retrospective at the Kool Jazz festival in 1982. After transcribing the originals I updated & re-arranged them to Buddy's liking without obscuring the intent of the originals. This arrangement is a composite of two recordings Buddy did of Quiet with Tommy Dorsey. The solo trumpet (first time at M. 9) can be played with all four trumpets both times if you choose and certain sections can be altered to suit your performance. We agreed on adding the eight bar shout after the drum solo to make the ending a little less anticlimactic. If you prefer, you can jump to M. 85 after the drum solo like the original. The drummer can stay on the toms and bass drum for the entire piece or alternate with a regular ride/hi hat swing pattern.

German.'Siegfried', the third part of Wagner's Ring des ‘Nibelungen, is now available. Framed by the much darker operas 'Die WalkĂŒre' and 'GötterdĂ€mmerung', 'Siegfried' acts as their bright counterpart. Its musical action is characterized by cheerfulness and idyllic natural scenes. And yet, 'Siegfried' is not without dramatic elements. A quarter of a century was to pass from the first (text) sketches to the world premiere. In that time Wagner wrote and premiered 'Die Meistersinger von NĂŒrnberg' as well as 'Tristan und Isolde' had seen the light of day and may have left their marks. The score is based on the volumes 12/I-III (RWA 112-10, 112-20, 112-30) of the Wagner Complete Edition.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1265062 By Boyce Avenue. By Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Arranged by Jason Howard. Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Pop. Score and Parts. 40 pages. Jason Howard #857689. Published by Jason Howard (A0.1265062). Thank you for you're interest in my arrangement one of The Greatest Showman's greatest hits! This arrangement of Never Enough is for concert band with an optional vocal soloist. The work starts out with the simple piano arpeggios that really hooked my ear on the original, before leading into an intimate blend of woodwind timbres and flowing percussive melodies for the first verse. Low Brass lead the work into the first chorus, where a Horn solo carries the emotion to the first full ensemble hit that pushes through until the end of the work where sudden silence and soft, warm extended chord punctuates the piece. This piece was written with advanced high school and higher level musicians in mind. Though the pieces isn't incredibly difficult overall, the range asked of some of the performers and the raw emotion that this work represents demands a level of training. The score will likely be better printed on Legal sized paper to help with readability, but the parts are all easily printable on standard 8.5x11 copy paper.Instrumentation:Flute 1 & 2*Oboe*Bb Clarinet 1 & 2Bb Clarinet 3*Bass ClarinetAlto Saxophone 1Alto Saxophone 2Tenor SaxophoneBaritone SaxophoneBb Trumpet 1 & 2Bb Trumpet 3Horn in F 1 & 3*Horn in F 2 & 4*Trombone 1Trombone 2Eupnonium*TubaOptional Solo VoicePianoGlockenspielChimesXylophoneMarimbaConcert Bass DrumSuspended Cymbal*Part includes a solo sectionI hope that you and your group enjoys my arrangement! Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1204368 By Kathleen Ryan. By Kathleen Ryan. Classical,New Age. Score. 8 pages. Indigo Mesa Music LLC #802848. Published by Indigo Mesa Music LLC (A0.1204368). As composed and recorded by Kathleen Ryan on her CD Under the Greenwood Tree.Kathleen's composer notes: A story song that began with a simple Western waltz that came to me while we were driving into town one day. (I have a way of notating a melody very quickly so that I don’t lose music in such situations.) Until I sat down to do the first recording of this music, Water in a Dry Land was still just the little waltz. But while the music expressed all the longing for water that we here in the dry land feel, it didn’t actually have any water in it, and as soon as I started recording I wanted some watery music to be there. So I made up the middle section, which seems to me to be quite watery, and practiced it and thought I was done. Then the next time we recorded it, on listening to the playback, all of a sudden I wanted to hear the dry land! That was the genesis of the opening chords, which repeat after the middle (water) section. I was still refining (that is, re-writing) this music up to the very day I recorded it!Advanced: a challenging piece that offers many contrasts of mood and style. Architectural in its structure, with sections depicting the sandstone cliffs of New Mexico, the earth’s longing for water, and the welcome blessing of gentle rains.

Sonata No. 2, commissioned by Bokyung Byun and composed in 2024, represents the most extensive solo guitar sonata I have created to date, comprising four movements. This sonata is characterized by its flashy, mysterious, dark, and highly virtuosic nature, making it an ideal piece for both competitions and concert performances. While the Scherzo and Finale can be performed independently, or the first, third, and fourth movements can be paired for time-constrained concerts, it is advisable to perform all movements together due to their interconnectedness.«La Sonate n°2, commandée par Bokyung Byun et composée en 2024, représente la plus vaste sonate pour guitare solo que j'ai créée à ce jour, comprenant quatre mouvements. ».
