Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1108143

Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Christian,Classical,Instructional,Religious. 25 pages. Regis Bookshar #710766. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1108143).

Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - Brass Quintet - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 2 Trombones and 1 Tuba, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to practice breath control because of its long, sustained phrases, and also to give them the chance to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (25 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a Brass Quintet, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Mozart's Recordare, will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Syncopated brass and driving percussion open this sparkling concert selection. The rhythmic woodwind melody that enters after the brief introduction is set in the Dorian mode, a tonality that dominates the remainder of the piece. The very prominent percussion section gives way to a more delicate woodblock, triangle and tambourine ostinato that accompanies the light hearted second theme. Trumpets now take over the melody and the style hints at the early Hispanic roots of Chico Hills. A lyrical theme in the original Dorian mode highlights the slower middle section that builds to a dramatic climax before returning to the opening Allegro and a short exciting conclusion.

Composed by Christopher Patton. Contemporary. 13 pages. Christopher Patton #4760387. Published by Christopher Patton (A0.1029157).

Writing this duet for flute and oboe//English Horn began immediately after the massacre at the Pulse night club in Orlando, FL in June 2016. The fate which befell those innocent people was undeserving in spite of where they were and who they were. I expressed my anger and outrage in this music to honor the memory of those who died that night.

The first movement is a bit off-kilter; there is something in the air. The second movement is evocative of having a nice evening and enjoying time with friends. As the the third movement begins, the music depicts something ominous coming which crescendos to the flute and oboe a second apart representing screams. My intent with the prior statement is not to relive the horrors of that evening. I wanted to respectfully represent what happened. I wanted the performers in addition to interpreting my music to have an active role in the composition in which the flute and oboe engage in an improvisation to represent the rampage and their outrage. The remainder of the final movement gradually slows as the flute and oboe notes are sustained and ascending to a quiet and peaceful end with the unspoken message nothing will keep us down. .

NASA's Apollo program is known for landing the first humans on the moon in 1969. In this composition, your dauntless adventure begins with a powerful lift off. Once achieved, the main theme is presented by flutes, oboe, and then trumpets, with stabilizers provided by baritone, tenor sax, and eventually the remainder of the crew. Stage 1 boosters (a strong, rhythmic accompaniment) provide the propulsion needed to voyage through to a sea of tranquility (lyrical section). From there we journey to an adventurous transition and a final re-entry of the main theme. (2:35) This title is available in SmartMusic.

By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Children,Christmas,Folk,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Score and part. 8 pages. Sharon Wilson #4638867. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565496).

Here is a festive duet arrangement (for CELLO solo with PIANO accompaniment) of the popular English carol We Wish You a Merry Christmas. The CELLO leads with the melody for most of the song except for 4 measures during the second time through the chorus where the PIANO takes the lead with the melody. This arrangement begins with the PIANO playing mellow broken chords, then for the second verse, the PIANO adds a bit of syncopation creating a fuller, upbeat sound for the remainder of the piece.

All notes for the CELLO are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. The PIANO accompaniment is written for an intermediate player. This quick-paced and bright arrangement will be a valuable addition to your holiday repertoire.

The purchase price includes a 5-page combined score with both CELLO and PIANO parts on each page plus a separate 1-staff score for the CELLO solo (2 pages).

This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Holiday Classics (A Collection of 10 Easy Cello Solos with Piano Accompaniment).

Lyrical and calming, this arrangement of the beautiful Christmas carol Gesù Bambino by Pietro Yon begins in the key of G major and then alternates with the key of B-flat major. The verse begins with the melody in the left hand before transitioning to the melody in the right hand for the remainder of the song. This soothing, lullaby-like song is straight-forward and easy to sight-read by the intermediate pianist making it a favorite selection for impromptu performances.

Composed by Tyler J. Holt. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 43 pages. TJHoltMusic #6134009. Published by TJHoltMusic (A0.1021619).

Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 12 was written for and is dedicated to my friend, Natalie Smith. This sonata conveys different moods using various styles in each of the movements, all of which take some liberty and, at times, are vague with form.

The first movement, inspired by Claude Debussy, uses a quasi mirror form, with the two motives connecting with a sudden yet seamless tempo change, which is supported by the driving rhythm in the piano, and a development in the middle of the movement.

The second movement is a funeral march and is based on the chord progression built around the sustained B natural in the flute, which conveys a dreamlike atmosphere. As the progression transforms, there is an increasing sense of dread that unfolds until this feeling becomes primal before collapsing in on itself at the climax of the movement. From there, the progression returns more actively with, although not as strong as before, a sense of dread still present for the remainder of the movement. The movement is in ternary form (ABA), with a development in the first A section.

The third movement is a more clearly defined rondo form and is based on themes that undergo subtle changes each time they return. Other themes include a recurring call and response between the treble and bass lines in the piano, which the flute participates in this exchange when it is presented again later, a reference to the second movement's progression, and a modal theme that floats in terms of harmonic and melodic structure. When the initial theme returns for the final time, a coda restates previous ideas as the finale gradually increases its tempo and concludes the piece. This movement is the most technically challenging, especially considering that I asked Natalie how fast she can double tongue. In general, there are a fair amount of high passages and big leaps. This was written with Natalie's skill set in mind.

By West Coast Wind Quintet. By Ron Levy. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary. 28 pages. Thinkling Music #746220. Published by Thinkling Music (A0.1145980).

AEROS is a one-movement piece about flying.

The composition begins with Latin dance rhythms and a clearly defined melodic motif. The threads gradually build to a tumble of ecstatic exuberance, engaging but short-lived. The remainder of the piece is a return to the mundane, ultimately settling on a plateau of stability which the listener senses to be merely a steppingstone, a pause before resuming the journey into an uncertain future …

Structurally, the work is a single movement built around an Afro-Cuban montuno pattern, with ostinati divided among the instruments. Stylistically it could be considered as “moody minimalist with a melodyâ€. Or if that is too long and unwieldy, then perhaps just “MMMMUSIC!â€

First performance in Laguna Beach, California on September 21st, 2021, by West Coast Wind Quintet, as part of the Sunset Serenades series. The outdoor venue, a small amphitheater in beautiful Heisler Park, high on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, was the perfect aerie from which to bring this piece into the world.

String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.565640

By Sharon Wilson. By Peter C. Lutkin and Sidney Lanier. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Easter,Folk,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 12 pages. Sharon Wilson #5038367. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565640).

The inspiring poem by Sidney Lanier titled Into the Woods My Master Went has been set to a variety of tunes. This string trio arrangement (for 2 Violins and 1 Cello) uses the hymn tune by Peter C. Lutkin. Set in a minor key, the solemn, reflective melody matches the deeply thought-provoking lyrics (see below). Though the lyrics may seem archaic at first, by reading through the words and meditating on the meaning, the beauty of the message becomes clear. This song is especially suited for a prelude or offertory during the season of Lent and Easter.

Verse 1
Into the woods my Master went,
Clean forspent, forspent,
Into the woods my Master came,
Forspent with love and shame.
But the olives they were not blind to Him.
The little grey leaves were kind to Him,
The thorn tree had a mind to Him,
When into the woods He came.

Verse 2
Out of the woods my Master came
And he was well content;
Out of the woods my Master came,
Content with death and shame.
When death and shame would woo Him last,
From under the trees they drew Him last,
’Twas on a tree they slew Him-last
When out of the woods He came.

Two unique verses are included interspersed with flowing and melodious interludes. VIOLIN 2 begins with the melody and then the VIOLIN 1 picks up the melody for the remainder of verse 1. The VIOLIN 1 and VIOLIN 2 alternate leading with the melody for verse 2. All notes for both VIOLIN parts and the CELLO are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. Being in a minor key, several D#’s are scattered throughout the VIOLIN 1 and 2 parts which may require planning alternate fingering for smooth note transitioning.

The purchase price includes a 5-page combined score with all three parts on each page plus separate 1-staff scores for the VIOLIN 1, VIOLIN 2, and CELLO (2 pages each).

This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection titled Easy String Trios: Easter Hymns (A Collection of 10 Easy Trios for 2 Violins and 1 Cello).
