This is the final movement from Suite Grandkids which contains six pieces originally scored for classical guitar trio, one for each of the grandkids that I had at that time (2005). I decided to write lyrics for each movement, creating this version for voice (male and/or female) and classical guitar. This download contains score and all parts. The picture of my grandkids looks like a poster for cultural diversity. Their varied genetic backgrounds presented an opportunity to compose an eclectic suite with each piece presenting a style representative of their unique genetic heritage. Performance time for the entire suite is 23 minutes but each piece could stand alone on a concert program. Soren's Jig  was written in Scottish style, highlighting his genetic heritage. As the finale of the suite, each grandkid is revisited in round form. Performance time is 4 minutes and 21 seconds. Demand level is mostly intermediate with a few advanced sections. I entered into them completely, becoming one not only with the music, but with the paper they were printed on, and the advertisements on the back. I pored over these, laying my face on them, waiting for signs of my future direction. The piano plays a significant role in the music. This easy arrangement for trombone duet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students because of the ease imposed on the piece. It is often performed at wedding ceremonies slowly and reverently, challenging the effect suggested by Bach in his original score for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings, and continuous bass. This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works.
