Mozart's Symphony #39 features the clarinets in many ways, so to set the Andante movement (2nd movement) for clarinet choir works very well. This arrangement takes a different approach by scoring for 2 solo clarinets playing the music mostly as found in the original orchestration, with the remaining clarinet parts filling in the remaining wind and string parts as needed. I suggest having one person on each of the solo 1st and solo 2nd parts, with at least 3 on a part for the two section Bb clarinet parts. There is also an alto clarinet part with an alternate Bb part if needed. To keep the music light, there is no Eb soprano part or contra bass part.

Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1290977). This is a lively arrangement based on the traditional text. It's an English Christmas carol, which dates back at least to the 17th century. The reference to three ships is thought to originate in the those that carried the purported relics of the Biblical magi to Cologne Cathedral in the 12th century.The joyful main theme is in 7/8 time and divides into 2+2+3. This is easier than it sounds because much of the piece consists of  four measures of 7/8 followed by a measure of 4/4. Singers will soon get to feel the rhythm and become familiar with this time signature. It’s scored for a fairly experienced SAT choir with keyboard accompaniment. The SAT voicing is ideal for high school or college use, where bass voices may not be available. In the reflective middle section, there are opportunities for solos, though they are optional. Audiences and singers alike are sure to enjoy this joyful music. The keyboard part is fairly straightforward though requires a competent pianist. Flute choir groups, etcwould be a great addition for your ensemble, whether playing at a recital, concert, church and other spiritual events, graduation, weddings, etc. This would also be a great tool or warm up for balance and shaping sound, volume, color, blending, phrasing and other important technique builders for your group.You'll love this arrangement   ,and so will the flutists and your audience!
