Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,March,Romantic Period. 38 pages. RayThompsonMusic #875459. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1284281). Arranged double wind quintet/bass.This is my arrangement of the complete work - it includes the trio.Check out my shorter version here. The Festival Coronation March in D major, TH 50, ČW 47, is an orchestral work by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky ordered by the city of Moscow for the coronation of Tsar Alexander III in 1883.It was written during March 1883 and performed for the first time on June 4[O.S. May 23], 1883 in Sokolniki Park (Moscow), conducted by Sergei Taneyev. The music included excerpts of the anthem God Save the Tsar.Recordings of this piece generally run between 5 and 5½ minutes.Arranged wind dectet/bass (double wind quintet/bass/tuba)My arrangement is in the same key as the original (D major)Clarinet parts are CLARINET IN ARather than simply copying the woodwind parts, I have moved some of the music down one octave. Thus avoiding the shrill sound of high woodwind in a smaller ensemble. For info: During the Soviet Era, Russian performances and recordings of the music were revised to omit the excerpts from the Czarist national anthem, replacing it with thematic material used earlier in the march. Other works that quoted or otherwise used the anthem, such as Tchaikovsky's Marche Slave and 1812 Overture, were also revised, due to an official Soviet ban on the anthem.Starting with Dmitri Medvedev’s inauguration in 2008, an abbreviated version of this piece is played during the Russian presidential inauguration accompanying the entrance of the incoming president. That version (Similar to my arrangement) lasts less than two minutes, and so ends well before the playing  of  God Save the Tsar.Check out my arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Military March,TH150 arranged for similar instrumentation.

Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.953625). La ciudad sumergida (The Submerged City) for four-part treble chorus and nature soundtrack by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) Commissioned for Dr. Ramona M. Wis and the North Central College Women’s Chorale A setting of an excerpt of Río de La Plata en lluvia from Mascarilla y Trébol (1938) by Alfonsina Storni (1938) Copyright © 2020 Adrienne Inglis Founder, composer, and singer with Inversion Ensemble of Austin, Texas, Adrienne Inglis also serves as principal flute with the Central Texas Philharmonic, flute instructor at Southwestern University, and flutist with flute/harp duo Chaski. She has music degrees from Lewis and Clark College and the University of Texas at Austin. An avid birder and environmentalist, she lives in the rural hill country of Central Texas. Poet Alfonsina Storni began writing during a tumultuous childhood fraught with economic hardships, many disruptive moves, and an alcoholic father. She danced with a theatrical troupe and then became a teacher and journalist. She bore a child out of wedlock and found herself working as a single mother during socially oppressive times. In Buenos Aires she joined the emerging world of women’s rights, becoming an important literary voice in the movement. When her breast cancer returned, her lifelong passion for the sea culminated in her suicide off of the coast of Argentina. Río de La Plata en lluvia from Mascarilla y Trébol (1938) lines 1-4 by Alfonsina Storni in the public domain Ya casi el cielo te apretaba, ciego, y sumergida una ciudad tenías en tu cuerpo de grises heliotropos neblivelado en su copón de llanto. [The sky was about to embrace you, blind, and you had in your body of gray heliotropes a submerged city, with the misty sky like a chalice about to overflow with tears.] Program note: Commissioned for Dr. Ramona M. Wis and the North Central College Women’s Chorale of Naperville, Illinois, La ciudad sumergida (The Submerged City) by Adrienne Inglis for four-part treble chorus with nature soundtrack captures the mood of a river, a city, the cloudy sky, and the poet’s own profound melancholy. The sound of rain creates both the ambiance of a misty day on the river and the sensation of cathartic crying from great sadness and pain. The city’s reflection on the river’s surface gives the illusion that the city is submerged in the water. The reflection of the clouds hovering low over Río de La Plata looks like gray heliotrope flowers. The apocalyptic images of a submerged city and of tears overflowing from the chalice-sky eerily foreshadow rising sea levels due to anthropogenic global warming. The nature soundtrack of rain was recorded by the composer in the hill country of central Texas, July 2020. Performance note: This aleatoric, asynchronous composition is suitable for remote singing along with the video score and nature soundtrack. Observe the order of entrances, but know that it’s not meant to line up exactly. Finish a phrase even if another phrase has started. Diphthongs move immediately to the second vowel sound. Ya begins with the [dÊ’] sound and llanto begins with the [Ê’] sound, both typical of the Buenos Aires accent. Sing quite expressively except for the neblivelado section which is misty and veiled. The director may wish to indicate the rehearsals numbers or the singers may follow the time on the video-or both. Duration: 3:08 Link to video with soundtrack is available from the composer (http://adrienneinglis.com). Acknowledgements: The composer warmly thanks Pablo and Diana Donatti, Ãngeles Rodríguez Cadena, and Emilio Torres for their contributions to this project and to Dr. Ramona M. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1126313 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 8 pages. Philip Le Bas #727017. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1126313). A new Christmas carol by Philip Le Bas for unison voices (with occasional divisi) and piano, setting the words of William Blake's poem A Cradle Song from his collection entitled Songs of Innocence. The very title of Blake's poem calls out for it to be set to music. Indeed the poem is a straightforward lullaby for the first few stanzas, sung softly by a mother over her sleeping baby, as she marvels at the wonder of this beautiful infant and expresses her love for the child. Her own anxieties and weeping for the child remind her of the Christ-child who also wept as a vulnerable baby. But as God incarnate he wept for me, for thee, for all, and brought peace to heaven and earth. (Blake uses the word beguile perhaps to indicate the paradoxical nature of a weeping God bringing redemption to a suffering world by becoming a vulnerable human baby himself.) The composition aims to avoid unnecessary complexity in the vocal parts, so that it can be sung easily particularly by a parish choir. However, it also attempts to capture some of the beauty, drama and mystery of the scene expressed by Blake. The piece begins and ends in stillness, and there are gentle climaxes here and there, reflecting some of the rise and fall of the poem's lyrics. It could be sung by a mixed or single-voice choir, but note should always be taken of the predominantly quiet dynamics of the piece, especially in the first half. https://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/en-US/se/ID_No/1216185/Product.aspx https://plbmusic.blogspot.com A Cradle Song from Songs of Innocence by William Blake (1757-1827) Sweet dreams, form a shade O'er my lovely infant's head! Sweet dreams of pleasant streams By happy, silent, moony beams! Sweet Sleep, with soft down Weave thy brows an infant crown! Sweet Sleep, angel mild, Hover o'er my happy child! Sweet smiles, in the night Hover over my delight! Sweet smiles, mother's smiles, All the livelong night beguiles. Sweet moans, dovelike sighs, Chase not slumber from thy eyes! Sweet moans, sweeter smiles, All the dovelike moans beguiles. Sleep, sleep, happy child! All creation slept and smiled. Sleep, sleep, happy sleep, While o'er thee thy mother weep. Sweet babe, in thy face Holy image I can trace; Sweet babe, once like thee Thy Maker lay, and wept for me: Wept for me, for thee, for all, When He was an infant small. Thou His image ever see, Heavenly face that smiles on thee! Smiles on thee, on me, on all, Who became an infant small; Infant smiles are His own smiles; Heaven and earth to peace beguiles.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.597585 By Flavio Regis Cunha - Traditional. By Gregorian Chant, XV Century. Arranged by Flavio Regis Cunha. Christmas,Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,Sacred. Score. 16 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #6656831. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597585). Beautiful, exotic and inspiring arrangement for the well-known Gregorian chant. The arrangement proposes a cathedral atmosphere, with the piano pedal often mixing sounds and chords to provide the reverberation of a cathedral. The text of the first stanza was placed in Latin to evoke the Gregorian ambience of the first centuries of sacred vocal music. You will love playing and singing this arrangement. It will really feel like a cathedral. Your audience will love to hear it. O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, is a song for the Advent period, that is, the four sunday period before the day of Christmas. It's a period of expectation, of wait for the coming of the Messiah. the anthem has a centuries-old and curious history: text and music came from countries different and from different periods of the story! The text already existed in the eighth century! and it was very sung! But the first publication that his if you know it is from the year 1710, coming from the city of Cologne, Germany. The melody we know today, was associated for the first time to the text in 1851, in a English hymnal of that year. But the origin of melody remained obscure. the mystery was solved in 1966, only when Marry Berry, English musicologist, discovered in the National Library of France, a manuscript from the 15th century that brought the melody score, but associated with another text, Bone Jesu dulcis. So, both melody and texts are, in fact, centenarians, but they were not born together: they were joined very late! But this union has become eternal: impossible imagine O Come, O come Emmanuel sung with another melody, just like the melody, our acquaintance, associated with another text!
