This is the catchy calypso song from the spectacular dance scene in Central Park from the 2007 Disney flick Enchanted. If you've never seen it, at least check out that part of it (I think it's on YouTube). It's just fun, and it's a great song. It was nominated (along with two other songs also from Enchanted) for the Oscar for best original song. They all lost to an awful song you've never heard from a movie you've never seen. I think maybe the Academy has developed an allergy to Disney. This is an arrangement for euphonium tuba quartet of Golliwogg's Cakewalk from Children's Corner, a piano cycle said to have been composed by Claude Debussy for his beloved daughter, Claude Emma. This extremely rhythmical piece is based on the Cakewalk, a two-beat dance music that is said to be one of the origins of jazz, but Debussy is said to have hated this music. The piece also includes a passage from Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, which he also disliked, and is ironic in its own way. It is best to play it humorously, without the heaviness that comes with playing it in the bass clef.
