I went out seeking love, And with unfaltering hope I flew so high, so high, That I overtook the prey. Structure based on a small portion of Missa Te Deum Laudamus by Krzysztof Borek. Melody based on Gregorian chant. I imagined the Saint dreaming of turning into an eagle. In my imagination, he desires only the Love of God, as a hungry bird is focused on the hunt. The raptor pursues another bird until it plucks the prey in mid-air, almost as a surprise. She brings the food back to her nest to feed her hungry chicks, then returns to the hunt to also feed herself. I find this to be an interesting way to view the continuing pursuit of God's Love. ~gs.
