Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784986 Composed by English, Scottish, Irish Traditional. Arranged by Dorothy van Joolen Barth. Classical,Multicultural,Renaissance,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 17 pages. Dorothy van Joolen Barth #4871. Published by Dorothy van Joolen Barth (A0.784986). Castles contains 9 traditional tunes selected from Playford’s Dance Master, O’Neill’s Music of Ireland, and The Gow Collection of Scottish Dance Music and arranged by Dorothy van Joolen Barth for two instruments. These 9 tunes are part of a larger anthology entitled Of Castles, Kings, and Courts, available separately as a download for those who would prefer to have the complete book. As an audio sample, the Irish tune The Castle of Dromore is provided here. I’ve endeavored to keep the melodies true to their source, though I granted myself liberty to switch the tune between the two instruments, change octaves, and add embellishments on the repeats--something that might also be done in spontaneous performance. These arrangements were conceived for recorder and violin but may also be played on flute and violin or two violins. In this volume, the suggested recorder range is indicated, but the adaptable recorder player may experiment with different ranges. We prefer the soprano recorder (which sounds an octave higher than written) on reels, jigs, and hornpipes and the tenor recorder (or alto recorder depending on range) for slower, lyrical pieces. These pieces are delightful perform for Renaissance and Celtic festivals and theme events and to add romance to period or castle weddings. Above all, may this music provide both player and listener with much enjoyment! (Revised August 2015).

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1265200 By Britney Spears. By Cathy Dennis, Christian Karlsson, Henrik Jonback, and Pontus Winnberg. Arranged by Jason Howard. A Cappella,Contemporary,Pop. Octavo. 9 pages. Jason Howard #858044. Published by Jason Howard (A0.1265200). This arrangement of Toxic is a fresh take on the popular 2000's hit! Taking inspiration from the original and several other different covers of this song, I've written out what is probably one of my favorite arrangements I've written. It's sure to challenge your performers and keep your audience engaged from start to finish! It starts with a soft drone in the Basses that continuously adds chord tones and volume to build sonic intensity and set the tone right out of the gate! We then move on to a slowed down first verse with the melody supported only by chords in the choir. Vocal Percussion leads us into a tempo change and explosive snippet of the melody before the piece hits its stride. Lots of upbeats, syncopations, and altered melodic tones throughout adds a high level of difficulty to this piece. As we get to the end of this piece, the ensemble will suddenly alter time to a half time feel that not only adds to excitement but also helps to bring the piece to a dramatic closing. This is written for Solo voice and SSAATTBB choir and a Vocal Percussionist. As with most of my arrangements I leave many of the syllables blank to encourage the director/performers to put their own spin on the arrangement with their own choice of syllables! Suggested syllables in certain spots and all necessary melodic lyrics have all been included for you!I hope that you and your group enjoys my arrangement! If you do (or even if you don't), please leave a comment and let me know! As a current full time band director who would love to be able to do this full time one day, any and all critiques are appreciated, and I'm particularly interested in formatting suggestions! If you would rather email me than leave a comment, shoot me an email at jhowardarranging@gmail.com!A little about me:My name is Jason Howard, and at the time of this publication, I'm going into my 5th year as a band director at the middle and high school levels. I have quite a bit of experience with arranging of various types of vocal and instrumental ensembles and combos. Most are for personal use, but as I get time, I hope to publish more and more for public consumption! Primarily, I focus on popular music, and I one day hope to bring important and influential classical musics to audiences and younger students everywhere!

Organ - Digital Download SKU: IZ.IMF177 Composed by Willard Zirk. Score and Parts. 9 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #IMF177. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.IMF177). 9 x 12 in inches. The title, 95 @ 500, Variations on Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott, refers to Martin Luther's 95 theses, which (according to legend) Luther nailed on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg. What is known for sure is that Luther sent his Disputation on the Power of Indulgences by post to the Archbishop of Mainz on October 31, 1517. Meant only as a set of assertions for debate in hopes of reforming the church, Luther's act began a revolution in the Christian church that had great consequences. One major change was the use of more simple music that could be sung by the congregation instead of a trained choir. Hence, the Lutheran chorale was born.95 @ 500 was originally written for a trombone quartet. It was the second commission by students of my colleague and friend at Eastern Michigan University, trombone professor, Donald Babcock. They gave me carte blanche, so I took the opportunity to fulfill my wish to write a piece to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation. Later, as I began adapting this work for organ, I soon realized that it would become a unique work in its own right.

Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027894 Composed by William Elsom. Contemporary. Score and parts. 46 pages. Will Elsom #3053855. Published by Will Elsom (A0.1027894). Programme Notes Boudicca became the Queen of the Iceni upon the death of her husband, Prasutagus. The Iceni had lived in relative peace with the Romans, with Prasutagus living as a client king, paying tribute to Rome. The Romans refused to accept a woman as the ruler, and sought to assume total control. To demonstrate its superiority, a Roman Legion attacked the Iceni, captured Boudicca and made her watch as her daughters were raped. She sought revenge, allying the Iceni with the Trinovantes under her command, and wreaked havoc, destroying many Roman settlements. Boudicca was only stopped when Rome sent one of the best generals of the time, Seutonius Paulinus. Seutonius has been depicted offering Boudicca surrender with honour and her life, but when she rejected this, his tactical acumen proved superior, and all the Iceni and Trinovantes were wiped out. 1 – Boudicca Unites the Tribes The piece opens with the initial statement of Boudicca’s theme. Figure 3 depicts Boudicca’s reign as the leader of the Iceni, interspersed with a sadder theme depicting her lonely widowhood. Figure 4 sees the tribes called together with a drinking song and Figure 5 is the war cry, as Boudicca gives a rousing speech, first to her own warriors then to the Trinovantes. The second time bar before Figure 7 sees the tribes fall into a restless sleep. Amid early morning mists, Figure 7 sees restless horses, with distant fanfares heard, signalling the coming of the Romans. The Romans main theme is at Figure 8, with a constant fanfare over the top, signalling the confidence of the leaders. Figure 10 sees the Iceni and Trinovantes coming slowly out of hiding, and Boudicca’s theme growing in volume until the death chords signify the tribes have prevailed. 2. The Bards Sing The tribes sing a hymn to an unnamed Pagan God. At Figure 13, the Euphonium develops Boudicca’s theme depicting Taranis, the Bard of the Iceni, singing wistfully of happier times. He then makes an impassioned speech for peace, before cutting off in mid sentence. He then sits quietly (Figure 16) fearing the future. Figure 17 gives a euphoric and hopeful rendition of the hymn, as if Taranis has not been heard. 3 – Epping NB: It is my piece, and I say Epping is as credible as anywhere as the site of the final battle, and will not enter into any correspondence on the matter! A fanfare awakens the two tribes. Figure 18 sees the tribes prepare for a final battle, and the repeated section depicts two victories at Verulanium (St Albans) and Londinium (London – then a small barracks). At Figure 20 Taranis has a vision, and tries to change Boudicca’s mind about another attack. Boudicca listens to him, but tells him the die is cast, and there is no going back. Death or Glory… The war cry ensues at Figure 21, but at Figure 22 it is the Romans’ theme heard, and the death chords (Figure 24) signify that it is the two tribes that are being slaughtered this time. Brave souls (Repiano and Flugel at 24) fight on in vain to allow Boudicca to escape. At Figure 25 Boudicca prays, but realising all is lost, at Figure 26 drinks poison. As she dies, the last thing this brave British heroine hears is the sound of the Roman’s theme, signifying Seutonius’ total victory.   William Elsom, December 2004

Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1046919 Composed by Jim Henson and Sam Pottle. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV. Score and parts. 15 pages. Derek Hasted #651420. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1046919). THE MUPPETS (TV Theme Tune) - EASY GUITAR QUARTET - or large ensembleFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes The Hampshire Guitar Orchestra used to open some of its concerts with this piece, and itâ??s a great piece for an audience of non-guitarists, drawing them in to the world of music that doesnâ??t fit well on a single guitar. Itâ??s ideal for a school concert but would also suit an adult ensemble with modest experience.Set in swing time, thereâ??s just one little piece of percussion where there are three sharp raps to the front of the guitar - take this on the wing of the bridge and thereâ??s no change of marking the soft wood of the front.School Teachers - you could consider splitting Guitar 3 into two single melodic lines - some players playing stems up and some playing stems down, and then this piece will suit players from almost complete beginners upwards.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

Piano,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1446732 By Friedrich Fritz Kreisler (February 2, 1875 – January 29, 1962). By Fritz Kreisler. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Multicultural,Romantic Period,World. 19 pages. Keith Terrett #1026498. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1446732). Liebesfreud for Solo Violin & Pianoforte.Kreisler wrote a number of pieces for the violin, including solos for encores, such as Liebesleid and Liebesfreud. Some of Kreisler's compositions were pastiches ostensibly in the style of other composers. They were originally ascribed to earlier composers, such as Gaetano Pugnani, Giuseppe Tartini and Antonio Vivaldi, and then, in 1935, Kreisler revealed that it was he who wrote the pieces. When critics complained, Kreisler replied that they had already deemed the compositions worthy: The name changes, the value remains, he said. He also wrote operettas, including Apple Blossoms in 1919[8] and Sissy [de] in 1932, a string quartet, and cadenzas, including ones for Brahms's Violin Concerto, Paganini's D major Violin Concerto, and Beethoven's Violin Concerto. His cadenzas for the Beethoven concerto are the ones most often played by violinists today. He wrote the music for the 1936 movie The King Steps Out directed by Josef von Sternberg, based on the early years of Empress Elisabeth of Austria.Kreisler performed and recorded his own version of the first movement of Paganini's D major Violin Concerto. The movement is rescored and in some places reharmonised, and the orchestral introduction is completely rewritten in some places. The overall effect is of a late-nineteenth-century work. The mausoleum of Kreisler in Woodlawn Cemetery.Kreisler owned several antique violins made by luthiers Antonio Stradivari, Pietro Guarneri, Giuseppe Guarneri, and Carlo Bergonzi, most of which eventually came to bear his name. He also owned a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin of 1860, which he often used as his second violin, and which he often loaned to the young prodigy Josef Hassid. In 1952 he donated his Giuseppe Guarneri to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. where it remains in use for performances given in the library. On recordings, Kreisler's style resembles that of his younger contemporary Mischa Elman, with a tendency toward expansive tempi, a continuous and varied vibrato, expressive phrasing, and a melodic approach to passage-work. Kreisler makes considerable use of portamento and rubato. The two violinists' approaches are less similar in big works of the standard repertoire, such as Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, than in smaller pieces.A trip to a Kreisler concert is recounted in Siegfried Sassoon's 1928 autobiographical novel Memoirs of a Fox-Hunting Man.The Australian manufacturer of electronics and consumer goods Kriesler (later a subsidiary of Philips) supposedly took its name after Fritz Kreisler but had intentionally misspelled the name as to avoid possible juristical actions from other parties.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.985729 Composed by Antonin Dvorak and William Arms Fisher. Arranged by Felix Linsmeier. Classical,Folk,Romantic Period,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 31 pages. Felix Linsmeier #591388. Published by Felix Linsmeier (A0.985729). The famous theme from the Largo of the Symphony No. 9 was adapted into the spiritual-like song Goin' Home (often mistakenly considered a folk song or traditional spiritual) by Dvořák's pupil William Arms Fisher, who wrote the lyrics in 1922. This arrangement is based on Dvořák's original orchestration of the Largo as well as the cuts and changes made by Fisher for his piano edition. This orchestration is perfectly compatible with Fisher's piano score, which the singer may use. The instrumentation is 2.2(II=corA.).2.2 - 3.2.3.1 - timp - strings + solo singer (preferably baritone) In the UK, the theme gained traction among the general public after its use in an advert for the Hovis bakery. In 1981, Don Williams would record a different song written to the melody, by Roger Cook. The resulting composition, Miracles, would peak at number 4 on the Billboard country singles chart that July, and also reach number 32 on the adult contemporary chart.

Learning the Harp #1032649. Published by Learning the Harp (A0.1453416). This classic love ballad is a staple to add to your repertoire. People will be so pleasantly surprised to hear it played on the harp! The arrangement captures the bittersweet atmosphere of the song well and feels so comfortable to play. One of the biggest challenges in this piece is playing it up to tempo while allowing it to sound relaxed and effortless.Difficulty Level and Skills Required: The right hand plays the melody line, and the left hand has 4 finger brackets with a lot of continuous placing. There’s some jumping around the registers, crossing over hands, and quick lever changes.Type of Harp: Big harp version is for 33 strings or larger. The small harp version works for 26 strings or larger.Range: For big harps: Lowest note is D, almost two octaves below middle C. Highest note is E, two and a half octaves above middle C. 2 Pianos,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1433983 Composed by Bedrich Smetana. Arranged by Patrick Speckamp. 19th Century,Classical. Score. 21 pages. Patrick Speckamp #1014212. Published by Patrick Speckamp (A0.1433983). This is a two-piano version of B. Smetana's ever popular and energetic Dance of the Comedians. Smetana employed the lively Czech folk dance Sko?ná in the third act of his opera The Bartered Bride, where a circus troupe performs an array of tricks and acrobatics. The transcription is intended to be played by two pianists at two pianos. The original orchestral score has been rendered as accurately as possible, while also keeping issues of piano-specific playability in mind. Where appropriate, slight changes to the original text (such as changes in register, piano-specific figurations) have been made to either enhance the overall sound impression and/or to improve playability on the piano. The difficulty level of the arrangement is high-intermediate to advanced. That said, Dance of the Comedians is a rewarding and fun piece - as well as a genuine crowd-pleaser - that may be performed by skilled amateurs and professional pianists alike.

Flute,Harp,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088053 Composed by Gabriel Faure. Arranged by Jennifer Grady. Classical,Contest,Festival,Romantic Period,Wedding. 11 pages. HarpSong, Jennifer Grady and Karen Almquist #692291. Published by HarpSong, Jennifer Grady and Karen Almquist (A0.1088053). Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) was a wonderful composer and pedogogue. He originally composed his lovely Pavane, op.50 in F-Sharp Minor for the piano in 1887 before scoring it for orchestra and choir. It was performed with Chorus ad libitum in Paris on March 28, 1888. Pavane was one of Fauré’s most popular works. This light and airy arrangement for flute and harp captures a graceful dance between the two instruments.  The harp part is of moderate difficulty except for difficult pedal changes in measures 84-85.  Pedal changes and enharmonic notation are provided. The flute part is also of moderate difficulty with long and fluid, melodic lines. Parts for both instruments are included in the download.

Learning the Harp #1088346. Published by Learning the Harp (A0.1513472). This arrangement of Butterfly Jig is fun, upbeat and sounds REALLY impressive on the harp! It’s a great performance piece to show off your technical skills and speed. This level is the most complex out of the two with a faster speed, impressive intros at the beginning, and more complexity between the hands.Difficulty Level and Skills Required: Advanced.
