His late piano work Fünf Charaktere (1974) is based less on contrapuntal and neo-classical composition techniques (like the two early piano sonatas) but rather on the tonal possibilities of the piano. The five movements which live on the changes of different tempos and emotions bear titles that refer to the mood and the character of the music: Capriccio – Legende – Scherzando – Elegie – Burleske. Thus, the pieces are not far away from being Romantic character pieces. Fünf Charaktere is published as printed edition for the first time, based on the autograph left in the composer's estate.

The piece loosely touches on multiple keys with lots of quavers movement to keep the idea of flowing thoughts, its ending is surprisingly on the chord of the 4th- again ending on the lydian note!There are two sections, the first repeats with subtle changes and the flute has some embellishments  in the second section.The flute range is two and a half octaves- full score is 7 pages and it is just over 5 minutes in length.Intermediate level but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.Price is for the full score and parts.

Bremner's original 1780 London publication and also arranged by Hugo Riemann, and again wrongly attributed to Giovanni Pergolesi.It is actually made up of 3 different pieces: Gallo's 2nd Trio Sonata in Bb. Mvts I and III, and Trio Sonata No 8 in Eb.All 3 Gallo mvts were used by Igor Stravinsky in the 3rd mvt. Scherzinoof his Neo Classical Pulcinella Suite. There is few bars joining the 3 mvts...one is Stravinsky's own, one is from a Pergolesi Opera.The Pulcinella Suite for small chamber orchestra and 3 vocalists which was derived from the ballet, was written in 1922 and has no vocal parts. But even though Stravinsky used Pergolesi's(which were in this case Gallo's) melodies and bass lines with little change, he managed to put his own unmistakable stamp on the music through his use of modern harmonies and occasional rhythmic modifications.I have used transcriptions of the original pieces, but have transposed them into the keys used by Stravinsky. I have included the original Pergolesi Aria as the first link, and a scale passage of my own for the second.My arrangement is in the same format as Stravinsky's so is a complete work.I have another upload with the 3 separate movts in their original keys.This arrangement is interesting to play and  do not sound too dissimilar to Stravinsky's final work.It is arranged for clarinet trio (2 Bb and bass)https://youtu.be/PMC-84MmuYw

Lyman, B.Mus. is designed to be performed in 3 voices, or (if the chords are also used), then 4 voices on the ukulele.  The tuning is in C, or (GCEA), plus Baritone Ukulele. The arrangement works equally well for high or low G strings.  Good for recitals!  This arrangement is especially playable, but listeners will still be impressed.   I have included both a Tab/Notation version of the conductor’s score, (5 pages), with parts for melody, harmony and baritone ukulele.  A melody, notation only version is also included for your convenience. Chords have been added to the first verse, to make it more robust. They should be played on beat one only, rather than on every beat. Winds of Time was written in the Summer of 2016 on commission for a colleague, Hayden Iskander, who wished to program a piece of new music on his graduate piano recital in an effort to promote performing new works by living composers. As the work took shape, it developed two distinct personalities, akin to the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The first theme, a calm and contemplative Dr. Jekyll, and the second theme, mischievous and a slightly rambunctious Mr. Hyde. As the piece progresses, these two melodies take on more of each other’s traits until, in the end, Mr. Hyde wins the day. This piece demonstrates that, over time, all our best laid plans must change. What matters is how we choose to embrace, or reject, the winds of time.
