Seen in this way, a concert reflects a value system that pits the individual against the group and poses a struggle of I against you. Surely this vehemence could be explained in a Beethovenian era when the concepts of human rights and individual freedom were fragile ideals. However, it is a different scale of values that my piano concerto tries to reflect: the idea of cooperation, of teamwork and of an orchestra as a living organism whose organs are not superior to one another, more vital than others, but fulfil different functions, qualitatively speaking.Every soloist plays a leading role, but this does not imply either subordination to the rest or denigration or subjugation of the rest. The fact that the soloist is sometimes in the foreground does not imply a victory over the others. The very concept of victory is meaningless here.At times, the soloist will fulfil a leadership role, at others he or she will underpin from passivity what is happening in the orchestra, intentionally from the shadows, as a grey eminence. And at other times - why not - he will question what the majority is doing. It is not a rough relationship of me against you, but there is also a we.The composition and orchestration of this piano concerto was made possible by a grant from the Senator for Culture of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. This work was funded by an artist's grant as part of the Bremen-Corona-Hilfen programme. The premiere by the orchestra of the Bremer Orchestergemeinschaft is scheduled for the beginning of 2024. Duration: 17 to 20 minutes.

Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1156458 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 20th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Guitar Tab. 7 pages. Brian Streckfus #756776. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1156458). IMPORTANT NOTE: You get both tablature version and sheet music version in one 7 page PDF! Hopefully this makes these arrangements all-inclusive for different purposes and skill levels. Also the tab version is meant for Drop D tuning and the sheet music is for standard tuning! Just be careful with your printer settings if you don't want two versions!1. Impressionism French minimalist piece arranged for guitar in Drop D Tuning.2. The composer indications in text are not my recommendations, but the original composer's. 2. Guitar tablature added with circles for half notes and whole notes.3. Measures and time signatures removed to reflect the ethos of the original composer. 4. Engraved to fit on four pages. Many of the lines themselves represent a musical phrase, making my arrangement that much easier to perform musically.  5. Courtesy accidentals added but they just look like regular accidentals. I did this especially because the piece is one gigantic measure and accidental etiquette is hard to follow under those circumstances. 6. Some overly contrived ties removed. This one is a real challenge to engrave because the original composer didn't have bar lines or time signatures. Cool idea but that can cause even the best sheet music programs to glitch out a bit when you have 16/4 hidden time signatures! This especially causes problems with accidentals, and it also causes rhythm problems when multiple voices are happening. As always, I like to try to have notes with upward stems represent the main voice, and downward stems to represent background voices, even though this leads to a bit of messiness with stem collisions. Normally the sheet music shows the rhythm the best, but dare I say the tab actually keeps track of time pretty well since all the voices are condensed into one rhythm line.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.854828 Composed by Daniel Elder. Contemporary. 20 pages. Daniel Elder Music #4983459. Published by Daniel Elder Music (A0.854828). It is undeniable that we humans are, as a species, outgrowing our small planet. As populations boom and technologies diversify, we are increasingly unable to run away from our problems. As a result, violence in civilized society is increasing at an alarming rate. How do we combat those that do harm to others, and more importantly, how do we convince our race as a whole that the problem cannot long be ignored? This original poem and its musical setting seek to pay tribute to the victims of violence in the modern United States. In an age where it seems a new tragedy has occurred somewhere every day, this work is titled 365 to represent each day of the year. The poem is structured in seven stanzas for the days of the week, and there are twelve iterations of Three hundred and sixty-five for the twelve months in the year. The final, introspective stanza parallels the poignant Christian story of Christ's crucifixion at the hands of his brethren, and lends a darker side of thought with the chosen grouping of words (read either no more; God forgive us or no more God; forgive us). This text humbly seeks to draw attention to what exactly is happening among us, among our neighbors, our governors, and our legislators, and the importance of addressing this ever-growing crisis in our society.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1228477 Composed by Charles Ives. Arranged by Charles Decker. 20th Century. 27 pages. Gordon Cherry #824554. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1228477). Charles Ives Variations on America has been artfully arranged by Charles Decker for Brass Quintet of virtuoso performers. This work of about 8 minutes in length was composed and published in 1891 for Concert Organ at the time it was the de facto national anthem of the U.S.A.The work is based upon and inspired by America (My Country, 'Tis of Thee) an American patriotic song that uses the same melody as the national anthem of the United Kingdom God Save the Queen. Variations on America has 5 variations including a number of humorous sections with some definite tongue-in-cheek happening. Ives, who performed it first on a concert grand Organ for a Fourth of July celebration in 1892 was quoted as saying that it was, almost as fun as playing baseball.Instrumentation is for 2 Trumpets (Trumpet 1 in E-flat and C, Trumpet 2 in B-flat), Horn in F, Trombone and Tuba).

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028490 Composed by Marcus Mota. Contemporary. Score and parts. 28 pages. Marcus Mota #3539063. Published by Marcus Mota (A0.1028490). This piece is part of the Heliodorus'Suite.Heliodorus' Suite is composed of seven pieces or movements all based on Aithiopika's Heliodorus novel. In this piece, we are experiencing the complex emotions of the pirates: They think they are seeing a goodness. A mix of fear and wonderment assault them. They run. All these emotions and movements are translated by quick scales and texture. In fact, the pirates, like us, don't know what is happening: in front of them, there is a shipwreck, rests of a banquet, corpses, and a couple - a beautiful woman that looks like Artemis and a wounded man at her feet.

Published by Floating Home Music (A0.913972). AWARD WINNERHere's my composition for the 48-hour Composition Competition put on by the local Portland, Oregon new music ensemble, Sound of Late. My assigned ensemble was cello and bass, and (having just listened to Neil deGrasse Tyson in an interview) I was immediately reminded of the sound of his voice. So this piece is a musical representation of what I imaging happening if Neil deGrasse Tyson actually tweeted about Sound of Late. They'd definitely do a little happy dance.

We're entering the world of Lumon here, mysterious things are happening around the innies while they are oblivious to who they even are.Everything is clinically clean, but something feels off. This music is pure ice and cold perfection. I imagine this playing in Mark's head day by day, deafening his senses and ability to think while he is fighting against his fate more and more. You want to play this with a friend? Chamber Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533592 Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 87 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3029401. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533592). Cerulean: Double Percussion Concerto (2004) for two solo percussionists and ensemblewas commissioned by the Carnegie Mellon School of Music for percussionists Cory Cousins,Mike Perdue, and the Carnegie Mellon Contemporary Ensemble, Walter Morales, director. The work is dedicated to them and to Howard Stokar. The work is inspired by the ocean, particularly its greatest depths. The work is in two movements, played without break. The two movements explore the samemusical material (a specific collection of twelve pitches) in two very different ways. In thefirst movement, the material is presented often in row forms -- and harmonies derived from it.In the second movement, a more free approach is used to the material and it becomes moremotivic and gestural. The first movement, Different Purposes, is inspired by the vast diversity of deep-sea life.Musical objects interact with each other and ideas transform each other. Many of these deepseacreatures live in very isolated and solitary environments at the ocean's lowest points. They each exist and pursue their own purposes without any awareness of what else ishappening around them. However, despite this, they are all existing within a commonenvironmental system and are thus achieving goals together on a larger level. The second movement, Different Porpoises, is inspired by porpoises and other sea-creatureswho surface, thus providing a link to human land-bound life. The marimba establishes arhythmic ostinato which (although passed around) remains steady throughout most of themovement.InstrumentationFluteOboeClarinet in BbBass Clarinet in BbBassoonHorn in FPiano2 Solo Percussion:I: marimba, crotales, suspended cymbal, 2 spokes/bellsII: vibraphone (with motor), tubular bells, 3 bowls (indef. pitches),medium-size water gong (i.e., gong with bucket of water),3 roto-toms, conga, bass drum(each percussionist needs two bows)Violin IViolin IIViolaCello(All players except for the two solo percussion also playoracle rods in addition to their instruments.)The full score without the solo parts is also available for sale.. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1425812 By Damien Gauci. By Damien Gauci. Contemporary,New Age. Score. 5 pages. Damien Gauci #1006572. Published by Damien Gauci (A0.1425812). This is the final piece of the album and also the final piece I wrote. The composition has three distinct sections that are quite different from each other in the feel and style but are all tied together through the harmony. I really like the first of this piece though as it just has time to breath and is really open which is something I don’t explore as much as I’d like, I always feel like I need to keep the piece moving and something happening. The energy ramps up to the next notch in each section but I still tried to maintain the original harmony that was used in the first section. It’s definitely a different way to approaching the composition process and something I don’t do very much but it was a good way to try something new.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1125796 By Michael Swedberg. By Traditional Spiritual. Arranged by Terrence Niska. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday. Score. 8 pages. Niska Music Publishing #726536. Published by Niska Music Publishing (A0.1125796). One of the more technically demanding preludes in this set, it is a definite workout for the right hand as it is nonstop triplets from beginning to end. Not only must the wrist remain loose, but the melody is contained in the right hand amidst the steady torrent of sixteenth note triplets. There is also a wonderful two measure hemiola figure where the meter seems to shift temporarily before returning to the established meter. The exuberance and excitement of the good news of Christ’s birth is the driving force behind this arrangement. Symphonic in its conception, the pianist needs to keep that in mind as they bring all the forces of the orchestra to bear. There are instances of brass chords, swirling string lines, singing woodwinds and thundering timpani, sometimes happening all at the same time. A tour de force and an excellent concert finale!
