This piece is actually my first film score. It accompanied an animation, but unfortunately, the original artist has made the animation no longer available. The story is still powerful, and the message is still just as relevant. Two young foster children, brother and sister, go from the sadness and fear of being without parents, to the joy of finding a home with a loving family, all while doing their best to hang onto hope and onto each other. For these two young children, I can only imagine it feeling like the end of the world, and not an experience they could possibly grow from. However, this story is a true story, and it is the animator's story. And look where she ended up! A student at the University of Michigan that has since gone on to work for major companies such as Nickelodeon and even NASA. As an artist, I respect her decision to not continue sharing her animation, and I am so unbelievably grateful and humbled to have had the honor of writing the score to her story when I had the chance.

Dedicated to Simon, Leo and Wellington School as a parting gift. Scored for Violin, Horn and Piano. Premiered in St George's Bristol, September 2019. “And then we see� is dedicated to the wonderful people I have met throughout my journey in Wellington School, especially to two of my very good friends – Simon, a euphonist; and Leo, a ‘cellist. Originally planned to be written for Piano, ‘Cello and Euphonium, and to be finished and performed in our last school concert as a goodbye gift, I had however not managed to complete the work before graduation. I have therefore taken this opportunity to express my emotions and sentiments from the time with this newly written piece. One can therefore very easily sense the nostalgia pouring right from the very beginning of the music, as I reminisce our years together. It is based loosely on a ternary structure (ABA) – the A section depicts the moment of farewell. One can hear the violin plays a very simple, bell-like melody, representing the bell-strikes which signify that it is the end of a long journey – time to say goodbye. The B section, based on the very same melody, transforms itself into a 6/8 dance. This dance depicts the pang and melancholia as we bid farewell, leading to a passionate climax. The A section then returns with the melody in its original form, announced by the horn. The coda concludes the piece, trying to move away from the tonic, representing the start of a new chapter in our journey and our optimistic feelings about it. Throughout the piece there are also quotes from the famous Westminster chimes, and variants of it, enforcing the bell imagery.

The Journey is a meditative solo piano excursion traversing realms of both melancholy and hope..quiet reflection and forward motion...the energy of momentum and the pause of reflection. It's an original fusion of neoclassical and new-age inspired piano music in the style of artists like George Winston and David Nevue. This piece is my way of musically expressing the patience, determination, and hard-won triumphs along the way in ‘the Journey’ of our lives - from finding our Purpose to the act of becoming who we are meant to be, both on an inner and outer level. It features two movements, with a rising, driven melody that keeps pushing ahead to new heights, full of unexpected harmonic twists and turns throughout, and an uplifting final section that builds slowly to an ultimate crescendo full of energy and enthusiasm. The recapitulation of the main melody at the end, yet in a new, brighter key, speaks to the transformation of the traveler as he proceeds along his journey, speaking to the growth and enhanced perspective that he has garnered along the way, and a summation of all he has become in the process. For intermediate to advanced pianists, looking for an emotional and dynamic piece that takes both the player and listener on a journey, pun intended. This composition is broken up into two movements, which can stand alone in their own right.
