Major General Ulysses S. Grant was the Union commander, while General Albert Sidney Johnston was the Confederate commander. This Circus March is a fine example of musical craftsmanship which would display the great quality of the Brass Band.

This is largely because it was used as the theme song of the popular 1950s television series Alfred Hitchkok Presents. Gounod wrote the piece in 1872. The piece, originally for piano, describes the story of a marionette who is killed in a duel. In the original score, Gounod included comments in French matching the action in the story to the music: ·       La Marionnette est cassée!!! It is also a clean sheet music without fingering marks. This classical Mozart’s work is a standard piece of the traditional piano repertoire. This piece is also recurrent in film and TV soundtracks. The arrangement features the melody in the right hand and the accompaniment in the left hand. The simplified melody does not feature the ornaments and thirds as in the original version. The broken chords in the original accompaniment were replaced by half notes that fill the harmony. This easy arrangement is quite suitable for children and piano beginners to play. Chord symbols are available throughout the arrangement.
