SUMMERTIME from PORGY & BESS (Brass Band)
Now considered a jazz standard, Summertime is the well-loved aria from George Gershwin's only opera, Porgy & Bess.  It premiered on Broadway on October 10, 1935.  Its flexibility allowed Gershwin to use the aria four times within the opera; Clare's lullaby as the opening aria is simple and calm, while Bess's is stormy and full of tension later in the opera.
That flexibility also has allowed for numerous covers in various styles - from cool to blues to spiritual, from jazz to big band to classical, rock, and even hip hop.
While so many instrumental arrangements are for a soloist and accompaniment, this setting for British-style Brass Band not only mixes some of the styles but also allows many instruments to have their moment to shine with the melody and countermelodies.
This is wonderful for concert or festival use.

A Lifetime Ago was composed by Sid Acharya, an award-winning composer from Australia, and arranged by Jared Lane, an acclaimed composer and established multi-instrumentalist from the United States.
This piece paints the story of reflection, and the feeling of looking back at one's life. As the melancholy rushes in, we become sad that life has changed but we also become happy and grateful to have experienced those great times at all.

Appropriate to be performed at a variety of events and venues. The mood of this piece does not make it intrusive to church services or formal events. The intermediate difficulty of the performance and readability of the score also makes it ideal for school orchestras.

Included in this package is the full symphony score, and all individual parts.
