Two trumpet voices create a chase scene that continues as the bells chime until the morning’s first light. As the sun rises and gradually begins to fill the sky with bright colors, the fears of the night falls away with the relief of the bell chimes signaling safety from being lost at midnight.

The best-selling version of the song was recorded by the McGuire Sisters in 1954. In this arrangement I have tried to capture the fun aspect of a male Tenor 1, Tenor 2, Baritone and Bass combination singing a cappella in a jazz-swing style. I have utilised some nice harmonies and counter melodies that complement the work. Tempo sits nicely at crotchet = 100 but this is up to the director to choose a suitable tempo if he or she so wishes.Enjoy this popular song re-worked from way back in 1951.Rod Christian.
