Alto Voice,Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1387471 By András Csáki (guitar) and Bernadett Nagy (alto). By David Warin Solomons. Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 167. David Warin Solomons #971325. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1387471). This setting of Paul Verlaine's poem Nevermore plays on an ambiguity of major and minor modes, swaying back and forth between the tonal centres of G minor and E flat majorThe poem and English translation are as follows:Nevermore  Souvenir, souvenir, que me veux-tu? AutumnDrove the thrush up through the atonic airAnd the pale sun pierced in monotoneThe chill and windy woods and the leaf flare.Together but alone we went our ways,Hair blown awry and monad thoughts unfurled.Sudden she turned to me her tender gaze:What was your finest day? - a voice of gold,Dulcet and low, ineffable and fresh. And I said nothing, offered her a smile,Seized her pale hand and pressed a kiss.Ah those first flowers of spring how sweet they were,And that first whispered Yes, how it beguiled,Won from those lovely lips with gentle murmur.(c) S N Solomons.

Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.874246 Composed by John Powell. Arranged by a do Ray me flute studio production , Ray-Michael Kauffman. Contemporary. Octavo. 31 pages. As do Ray meflute studio production #3885051. Published by as do Ray meflute studio production (A0.874246). Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqIQfHGxLEg&feature=youtu.be With thoughts leaning and reflecting  on the end on Fall, and November, I can’t help but notice the beauty of fall and the trees and foliage. This wonderous little musical piece , from the motion picture The Lorax from the Dr. Seuss movie, depicts of the main character the Lorax speaking for the trees and in many ways advocating for all things, people and groups that can not speak for themselves. And even in the times that we live in, this story still rings true today.  And beauty can still be found in sadness, or endings whether the be falling leaves in the park, or even with the events that are said , we grow and learn, being grateful for what we have , and learn to find our voices to speak out for the things that truly matter in life. This music, which is much like a hymnal, especially in the beginning of the piece, is perfect for this message. A message of peace, reflectiveness and hope and courage. As a side note , this piece should be played with lots of thoughtful rubato, and when the meter changes for 4/4(5/4) to 12/8, the beat does not change from quarter to dotted quarter .In the middle, minor section, I really added and improvised my musical skills per chord and melody of the song which makes my arrangement very distinctive, individual and unique. This would be great for a movie themed concert,  all by it's self, for a funeral, for Arbor Bay/ Tree ceremony , for fall or autumn  music/ themed programs, recitals, etc. Sure to be a well used piece in your collection. Scored for piccolo, flute 1, 2, 3 4, alto and bass flute. This pieces suites smaller groups , such as 1 per part, or doubling up with discretion. please visit my website at doraymeflute.com  , too!I hope you enjoy this as much as I do, thank you for your support.#movie music #arborday#holidaymusic #fallmusic             #holiday                  #fall    #autumn        #season        #flutechoir     #movieflute #autumnmusic

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942058 Composed by Apostolos Paraskevas. 20th Century,Jazz,Opera,World. Score. 10 pages. Silver Sickle Publications #4729017. Published by Silver Sickle Publications (A0.942058). This witty and extremely fun work to perform by composer Apostolos Paraskevas was conceived after real events. There is a version for Soprano/tenor and Piano and one for guitar as well. Easy to perform and the text was inspired of the following narrative. I Slaughtered an Orange over the Sink... ...and it just sat there…It didn't say a word, not a sound of anguish, not even when my teeth started to tear apart it's flesh little by little... I knew it was a special orange but I couldn't fathom the magnitude of its character…Even when gentle I took it away from its friends there at the top of the kitchen counter, it looked at me almost with a sense of gratitude. Yes, gratitude.! As if it was saying: Thank you! Thank you for helping me to fulfill the purpose of my life…Since I was a little seed I knew I would serve a higher purpose. My sacrifice will help a human to become a healthier mother, doctor, composer, a better scientist. Yes, I think I felt it said…a better composer as well. ...and there I was, sinking my teeth deep inside its flesh and taking all of what it had to offer. It's life, it's substance, it's gratitude for serving a higher purpose. I slaughtered it over the sink, to avoid any evidence of what had happen there. The remaining outer sell, I placed it on the stove top and lighted up with fire, as my mother use to do, to release the heavenly smell and there it was. Evaporated everywhere! I inhale it, It became totally a part of me. Today, I slaughtered an orange over the sink and I didn’t say thank you!   Apostolos Paraskevas is a classical guitarist and composer as well as an award-winning film director and producer. He has received multiple international awards for his compositions and was nominated for a Grammy Award. He is the only guitarist ever to have a major orchestral piece performed at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Lukas Foss––and the only musician who has performed there in a Grim Reaper outfit. He was the founder and served for 16 years as the artistic director of the International Guitar Congress-Festival of Corfu, Greece.  He is a voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammys).   After his undergraduate music studies in Volos he pursued advanced studies in classical guitar with Costas Cotsiolis (diploma, 1990) and Leo Brouwer (Havana 1984, 1988), as well as postgraduate studies in composition with Lukas Foss and Theodore Antoniou (DMA in composition, Boston University, 1998). Paraskevas embarked on a successful career as a guitar soloist and contemporary composer, achieving distinctions in both disciplines: Grammy nomination for Chase Dance (Bridge Records, 1999); first prize for Night Wanderings (Lukas Foss Composition Competition, 2000); first prize for Phygein Adynaton (National Composers Conference, 1997); and numerous prestigious commissions, performances, and publications. Following teaching posts at Northeastern and Boston Universities, Paraskevas has taught since 2001 at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (professor of composition and classical guitar). His eclectic compositional style arises as an idiosyncratic integration of seemingly conflicting influences – from avant-garde approaches to harmonic structure, form, and timbre, to pop-folk modal and rhythmical concepts – amalgamated into a personal evocative musical language, characterized by rhythmic verve, melodic grace, dramatic (and sometimes unexpectedly humorous) gestures, and ritualistic or theatrical elements. The latter feature has also led Paraskevas to the creation of films, notably the acclaimed I Finally Did It (Gold award, California Film Awards 2010), dealing wittily with Death, a recurring extra-musical theme in his music. The Groves Dictionary of Music Costas.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818377 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple. Praise & Worship. Score. 35 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6753169. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818377). Infinite, Eternal, Invisible, Undetectable God ♫ original song by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ based on 2 Chronicles 2:6, John 1:18, John 4:24 ♫ CCLI song # 7193328 ♫ Does God, the Creator of the Universe, have a face, eyes, ears, hands, arms, and feet? (Eze 39:29, Ps 34:15, Isa 59:1, Ps 98:1) Does He have wings like a chicken that He uses to comfort us? (Ps 91:4) Does He travel on the back of a cherub? (Psalm 18:10) Are the clouds a hiding place for God? (Job 22:14) Is His residence a place called heaven? Is the earth the footstool of His throne? (Isaiah 66:1) Does God change His mind? (Ex 32:14) ♫ The poetry of the Bible, (like other ancient literature) is full of figures of speech. Figures of speech explain things in words and ideas we can understand. The Bible abounds in figures of speech such as simile (comparison using like or as), metaphor (comparison not using like or as), synecdoche (using a part for the whole), deliberate hyperbole [obvious exaggeration], verbal irony (the tone of voice tells that the speaker means the opposite of the words he or she is using), personification (attributing human features or feelings to animals or inanimate objects), anthropomorphism / anthropopathism (gives human attributes, feelings to God.) [or animals, inanimate objects, cartoon characters.] ♫ God is spirit. (John 1:18, John 4:24) He is infinite, eternal, invisible, undetectable. The humanlike descriptions of God are actually figures of speech that help us understand and identify with Him. Descriptions of God’s eyes, arms, feet, wings, etc. are all figures of speech that tell us God is present everywhere, sees everything, hears everything, and cares about every part of his creation. (God is imminent). ♫ The heavens, even the highest heavens cannot contain Him. (2 Chronicles 2:6, 6:18) God is separate from the universe. (God is transcendent.) Scientific measurements cannot detect Him because He is not in the universe, the universe is in Him. ♫ Just as you can feel your fingers and your toes at the same time, God knows what is happening in every atom of the universe simultaneously. Back to the original question. ♫ After swimming laps in our local pool, I like to float on my back a bit. It reminds me that as the water surrounds me and supports me, so I am constantly encircled and upheld by God’s actual presence ♫ music © 2022 Stephen R Dalrymploe♫ recording ℗ 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ presentation © 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ sequenced by the composer ♫ This .pdf file includes 1) labeled copies for up to 7 printed copies of the vocal with piano accompaniment and 2) vocal with piano accompaniment for 10 inch tablet. Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.945547 Composed by Matt Arnett. Concert,Contemporary,New Age. Score. 6 pages. Matt Arnett Music #5952835. Published by Matt Arnett Music (A0.945547). To me, this piece is about journeys. It's about moving on when one part of our lives comes to an end an another begins. As we go, some people stay with us - but others will exit the scene. Bond Unbroken is about the connection that we continue to have with those we have left behind, or that have left us. While they may not continue to play a prominent role in our daily lives, the relationship we have with those we love never really fades away. The performer should take time to reflect on individuals that have influenced their lives in the past. The melody features frequent off-beats and some quarter-note triplets. While the piece is not overly challenging technically, it is fairly difficult rhythmically, and is therefore most appropriate for a more mature player. The piece is about 4:00 in duration.Find more of my work at https://mattarnettmusic.com/, or follow me at https://www.facebook.com/mattarnettmusic/

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1511019 Composed by Fredrik Pacius(1809-1891). Arranged by Keith Terrett. Instructional,Multicultural,Patriotic,Praise & Worship,Traditional,World. 8 pages. Keith Terrett #811977. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1511019). An arrangement for String Orchestra of the national anthem of Finland. There are also versions for Brass Quintet & Symphony Orchestra in my two stores.Maamme (Finnish: [?m??m?e]) or Vårt land (Finland Swedish: [?vo?rt ?l?n?d]; both meaning Our Land) is Finland's national anthem. The music was composed by the German immigrant Fredrik Pacius, with (original Swedish) words by Johan Ludvig Runeberg, and with this music it was performed for the first time on 13 May 1848. Originally it was written for the 500th anniversary of Porvoo and for that occasion it was Runeberg himself who wrote the music. The poem has been influenced by the Szózat (Appeal) of Mihály Vörösmarty, both in style and content.[The melody of Maamme is also used for the national anthem of Estonia with a similarly themed text, Mu isamaa, mu õnn ja rõõm (My Fatherland, My Happiness and Joy, 1869).It is also considered to be the ethnic anthem for the Livonians as Min iz?m? (My Fatherland). The original poem, written in 1846 but not printed until 1848, had 11 stanzas and formed the prologue to the verse cycle The Tales of Ensign Stål (Fänrik Ståhls Sägner), a classic example of Romantic nationalism. The current Finnish language text is usually attributed to the 1889 translation of Ensign Stål by Paavo Cajander, but in fact originates from the 1867 translation by Julius Krohn. The Tales of Ensign Stål were much appreciated throughout all of Scandinavia. Up until the time of Finland's independence in 1917 and 1918, when the song began to be recognized as specifically applying to Finland, Pacius's tune and Runeberg's text were often also sung in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Note that in the original Swedish text there is no reference to Finland (except for in verses 4 and 10, which are rarely sung), only to a country in the north, but the Finnish text explicitly refers to Finland. The poem's theme is, furthermore, remarkably similar to that of the national anthems of Sweden (Du gamla, Du fria) and Norway (Ja, vi elsker dette landet).[citation needed]There is no law regarding an official national anthem in Finland, in the way the coat of arms and flag of Finland are legally defined. Instead its position has been established gradually by convention over the years.Today, Maamme is firmly established by convention. Children learn it in school; in formal occasions it is sung both in Finnish and in Swedish. It is played at sporting events, such as the Olympics. In the 1880s and in the 1920s there were more attempts to replace it with a Finnish language version but these ceased by the 1930s. Some Finns have proposed that the Finnish national anthem be changed to Finlandia by Jean Sibelius, with lyrics by V.A. Koskenniemi (Finnish) and Joel Rundt (Swedish). There are also those who simply prefer Finlandia as a musical piece, although critics claim that it is difficult to sing.[citation needed]It is said that Pacius composed the tune in four days. It was popular throughout the 19th century, but established as national anthem only after Pacius' death. The melody of Maamme has similarities with the German drinking song Papst und Sultan. Many believe that Fredrik Pacius intentionally or unintentionally copied parts of the tune. Another Finnish patriotic song, Sotilaspoika, composed by Pacius, also includes similarities with Papst und Sultan.[citation needed]During 1993, an instrumental version of Maamme was used as Finnish professional wrestler Tony Halme's (under the ring name Ludvig Borga) entrance theme Love anthems, then join me on twitter, facebook, instagram & soundcloud for updates.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1285185 Composed by Christian F. J. Buettner, John Tuananh Dang, and Rajan S. Arranged by Stephen Cai. 21st Century,Video Game. Score and Parts. 66 pages. Stephen Cai #876297. Published by Stephen Cai (A0.1285185). Monody - TheFatRat (Christian F. J. Buettner) arr. Stephen Cai for Concert BandProgram Notes:MUSIC As a sequel to Pigstep by Lena Raine and Exodus by Ernest Gold, I have decided to take on the challenge of arranging the ever-famous glitch hop song, Monody by Christian Buettner (known more prominently by his online alias, TheFatRat).Similarly to Pigstep, my first arrangement, I ran into the challenge of instrumentation, as Monody’s original soundtrack almost entirely consisted of electronic instruments. However, I used the same technique I did with Pigstep to overcome this problem: assign basslines to low brass, treble melodies to mid-range instruments, and high parts to upper woodwinds. Unlike Pigstep, Monody pushed me to be more creative with the percussion section, as I had to puzzle out recreating all of the numerous sound effects throughout the piece with traditional percussion instruments. I even decided to notate a conch shell line for the war horn present at the beginning and the coda! At the end, however, it all came together nicely, and I came to realize that both this song and the process of arranging it represent a journey, albeit in different contexts. The word “Monody†refers to, in a literal sense, a song sung to mourn one’s death, which accordingly fits with my view of the piece as a journey where the narrator loses their companion. Writing the introduction measures (M.22) carried me through the genuine feelings of embarking on a mythical undertaking as the original soundtrack intends to portray. The lively middle section (M.70) was enjoyable to write as well, because the music itself is upbeat and full of energy. Finally, arranging the solo section was probably my most memorable experience. The slow and subtly melancholic character of the melody (the oboe solo) very closely alludes to the narrator’s mourning, and the enchanting lyrics originally written for this section further confirms their loss:      I still hear you in the breeze,      See your shadows in the trees;      Holding on, memories never change. The chords and harmonies that the original soundtrack provided were relatively simple to transcribe, and I found joy complementing them with luscious percussion effects. This is my interpretation of Monody, and I believe that it would be best performed as a journey, one which we can relate to as it encompasses the theme of loss; a monody. ARTWORK I also took up the challenge of creating original cover artwork for Monody, and I have to say, my level of appreciation for artists of any kind has skyrocketed ever since that endeavor. It took nearly two months of watching YouTube tutorials, onerous idea crunching, and using my sister’s drawing tablet, but I had nevertheless completed it with advice from some of my more experience peers (including my sister). Formal Credits: Cai, Stephen and Rachel Cai. “Monody†Arrangement for Concert Band cover. 2023 Lastly, I want to say thanks to my friend Matteo Sohn for being such a huge musical inspiration, and thank you for acknowledging my arrangement!
