Suitable for any event, from wedding receptions to concerts, and always guaranteed to draw attention. Arrangement duration: ≈ 3:45Notes on the arrangement:Some sections are technically challenging, including double stopping in 3rds, 6ths, and open string octaves, and use of tenor clef. However anyone wanting to simplify this arrangement to make it more accessible to less experienced players would be able to do so; either by splitting up the double stops between a larger group of player, and/or transposing the melody down an octave.Performance notes:This piece should be played with energy and vigour, as intended by Adele. A good pulse and a steady speed will help players to keep together. Any repeated quavers should be played nice and staccato, and quite percussively. I don't want it bogged down too much in the baggage of Hamlet, which is obviously impossible. The words in the title matter, and Shakespeare words is the best. The basic idea of the piece is death. In the first half, the protagonist feels death approaching. The middle march section is death's grasp, and the second half is the after-life dream. Sometimes we feel miserable with our lives and just simply desire that escape into a world that cannot harm us anymore. And sometimes it is okay to feel that, and to express that. Whatever may come after death, in the end, doesn't matter, because death is such a finality to life. I know for me, this piece lifts up my spirits and helps me enjoy life more. Our ability to express, particularly through music, the pains we may be feeling, is one of the greatest gifts we humans possess. I hope everyone is able to enjoy this music and my expression.

The Owl and the Pussycat is a nonsense poem written by Edward Lear in 1870. It takes me back to my late teens and early twenties when I would recite this poem with my 2 sisters. They would take the parts of the Narrator, the Owl, and the Pussycat. That would leave me with two words, the most important line in the poem, the Piggy-wig's line I will. Without this one line, the goal of the poem cannot be achieved - the marriage between the Owl and the Pussycat.Since this is a nonsense poem, the tempo and dynamic variations can be exaggerated to bring out the humor in the text. This setting is most ideal for an ensemble of soloists, but it could also be performed by an SAB choir with soloists for the parts of the Owl, the Pussycat, and the Piggy-wig. Happy singing!

When Cuarteto Casals approached me with the idea of illuminating Beethoven´s quartets anew, you can imagine the many thoughts and feelings that where going through my mind: what a joy, what a great honor… What an intriguing head-scratcher! How can you possibly shine a new light on something that is already perfect? Weeks, months went by in search of a common ground between the Master and myself until I finally found it in the realization that a word lays “hidden� in the St. John’s hymn that gave musical notes their original name: ‘Re, Sol, Ut, Io’ (D, G, C, B in English music notation) Perfect! “Resolutio� in Latin means both the resolution of a problem and the re-solution: a re-blend of many elements that will eventually coagulate to make something new. There was finally the melodic and a rhythmical canvas for my piece. On this canvas I wrote the story of a funny little contest, played on a sunny Mediterranean square, between street musicians and Cuarteto Casals just minutes before they are about to go on stage to perform Beethoven´s “Harp Quartet�. After all the characters, each in his own way, had the chance to tell their story, a gentle rain starts to fall, dissolving (Re-solving) again the music sheet to eventually leave us with just a white piece of paper for somebody else to continue the Work.
