Published by Wold Meridian (A0.1456368). Renaissance Dance music provides some of the most simple yet satisfying pieces to play in ensemble on a wide range of instruments.  They are suitable for recorders, modern strings, woodwinds or brass, or where available, reproductions of 16th century instruments, such as crumhorns, viols or shawms to name but a few. Also appearing in the publication Chording to the Consort,  this individual piece is presented in full score and with separate parts for each of the lines.  Wold Meridian editions of these pieces have been created to make performing them as accessible as possible.  Chords have been provided so that the piece can be performed with just the melody line and a simple accompaniment.  Each piece can be heard in a video on YouTube with illustrations and historical background information.  Even more helpful for players who are less experienced in reading harmony lines, there is a YouTube video link featuring each part, where it is heard initially on its own with the chords, on repeats with the melody line added and finally together with all the parts in the whole ensemble.  If you have not had the pleasure of playing in consort with other people, you could not do better than start with these Wold Meridian editions. You can hear the piece in a linked YouTube video at   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq5VMhNHhJEAs a help for players who are not so familiar with playing harmony and inner linesLine 2  is featured at   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kDO3BCPd_ILine 3 is featured at  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAVg0dhvmi4Line 4 is featured at   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0DsSVonKYs

Brass Quartet Cornet,Horn,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1347230 Composed by Philippe De Vitry. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Medieval. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #932030. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1347230). The motet O canenda/Rex regum by Philippe de Vitry is significant as it represents the emergence of the classic isorhythmic motet, which simultaneously sets a pair of texts in its two upper voices. Philippe de Vitry, a 14th-century French composer, is considered a leading figure in the changes that occurred in French music around 1325. His motets, including O canenda/Rex regum, are regarded as strikingly individual, exploiting unique structural ideas. They are part of the early development of the ars nova style of composition, which introduced new rhythmic and notational techniques. The structure of Philippe de Vitry's motet O canenda/Rex regum is characterized by the classic isorhythmic motet, which sets a pair of texts simultaneously in its two upper voices. This composition represents the emergence of the ars nova style of late medieval music, introducing new rhythmic and notational techniques. The repeated rhythmic patterns of the tenor do not necessarily accord with melodic ones, and the motet is known for packing symbols and thematic subtleties into each short piece. Philippe de Vitry's motets, including O canenda/Rex regum, are strikingly individual, contributing to the evolution of musical forms and representing innovative trends in 14th-century French music. The text of motets from this period often contained religious, secular, or courtly love themes. The words rex regum et dominus dominancium from the motet evoke the notion of an earthly king who emulates Christ on his heavenly seat as he assumes his throne. The text likely reflects the religious or secular themes commonly found in motet compositions of that era. Philippe de Vitry, a French composer, poet, and music theorist, was born on October 31, 1291, and died on June 9, 1361. Philippe de Vitry's O Canenda/Rex regum was composed around 1320. He was appointed Bishop of Meaux on 3 January 1351 and held this post until his death.

Accordion,Drum Set,Electric Bass Guitar,Piano Accompaniment - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105243 By David Kai. By David Kai. Arranged by David Kai. Celtic,Country,Folk,Irish. Full Performance. Duration 228. David Kai #708503. Published by David Kai (A0.1105243). A Newfoundland Christmas song about wishing to be back home for Christmas. THEY’LL BE ON THE ROCK THIS CHRISTMAS words and music by David Kai ©1997 They’ll come from far as Whitehorse and as close as Sydney Mines, They’re packing up their suitcases and their boxes tied with twine, They’re getting on those airplanes, Dash 8s and DC 9s, Driving to the ferry docks and they’re waiting there in line. And they'll be on the Rock this Christmas, where stars shine twice as bright, They'll be on the Rock this Christmas, greeting mummers every night, Yarning ‘round the wood stove, eating partridgeberry pie, And I’ll be wondering “Why, oh why aren’t I?” ‘Cause I’ll be in the factory, pulling double overtime, No one wants the Christmas shift so I guess that makes it mine, Late tonight I’ll light a candle in my lonely room, And think of those who are traveling home, ‘cause I know that very soon, That they'll be on the Rock this Christmas, where stars shine twice as bright, Yeah, they'll be on the Rock this Christmas, greeting mummers every night, Yarning ‘round the wood stove eating partridgeberry pie, And I’ll be wondering “Why, oh why aren’t I?” I’ve got to get there somehow, this poor soul’s just too homesick, My busted car won’t take me far, but my thumb will do the trick. I’ll call the boss from Port aux Basques, hope he’s in the mood to see, ‘Though I may choose to leave the Rock, it’s the Rock that won’t leave me. And I'll be on the Rock this Christmas, where stars shine twice as bright, Yeah, I'll be on the Rock this Christmas, greeting mummers every night, Yarning ‘round the wood stove, eating partridgeberry pie, And no more wondering “Why, oh why aren’t I?” Optional extra chorus: And we'll be on the Rock this Christmas, where stars shine twice as bright, Yeah, we'll be on the Rock this Christmas, greeting mummers every night, Yarning ‘round the wood stove, eating partridgeberry pie, And no more wondering “Why, oh why aren’t I?” Tag: No, no more wondering “Why, oh why aren’t I?”.

Brass Quintet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1489504 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 21st Century,Chamber,Children,Classical,Film/TV. 72 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #1066367. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1489504). Alfredo’s Demise was completed on 29 Dec 2023. Alfredo was a snowman built after a late spring snowstorm. The first half underscores time lapse footage of the rapidly melting snowman, syncing precise sforzando punctuations to moments of falling chunks. The sunset remains were gleefully decimated by our six-year-old James.Shuttle from Haneda depicts a delayed return from a trip. The video elicited an atonal compositional style to underscore the hustle and chaos of a city as enormous as Tokyo, but with a lovely view of the Bay about midway through the work.Petite Wave was composed to accompany a time lapse hanging of a three-panel canvas print of the woodcut art “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai in 1831. This art was featured on the cover of Claude Debussy’s “La Mer” when it was published in 1905, prompting a quote from “La Mer.”Fast Food to Fitness aurally illustrates a pan of nine fast food ads on a sheet. The bottom ad ironically promotes “BeFit 360”.  The music has a series of exciting flourishes that morph into a sinister chord as the last ad dampens the caloric prospects.Pigeons personifies a substantial flock of pigeons contentedly pecking at grass. I filmed while slowly approaching, occasionally causing a stir. The nervous flock took flight to find less threatening spot of ground to peck. The scene presented some fine opportunities for musical underscoring.Blue Snowman Group accompanies a rare Tokyo storm that dumped inches of wet packing snow. When my ten-year-old started rolling the base of a snowman, I whipped out my cell phone and started a time lapse video. Mom came out and built her own, armed with a spray bottle of colored water. The two snowmen turned blue in the cold and lived happily together for a couple of days.Autumn Fuji Puzzle undersores tightly crafted moments of puzzle-working and deconstruction.Outing in Japan was crafted to highlight key moments of a time lapse, running errands in northwest Tokyo.  Many subtle and obvious moments in this work aurally augment visually stimulating moments, including blinking turn signals, passing traffic, turns, vehicle approaches, parking at destinations, and many more.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.878811 By Doris Day. By Jay Livingston and Raymond B. Evans. Arranged by Justin Goh. Pop. Octavo. 9 pages. Justin Goh #3859777. Published by Justin Goh (A0.878811). SATB ChoirA cappellaSample recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwXiFG5YRBU--The idea of arranging this piece first came to me when I attended a Folksong Arrangement class. I was tasked to think about what songs my grandparents sang to me. Que Sera, Sera, although not a folksong, was the first that came to mind. My maternal grandmother had sung this to me in my younger days.      Not long after, my grandmother announced that she intended to sell her house - the very house that I spent most of my growing-up years in. This was followed by many weeks of packing her belongings, uncovering forgotten treasures, and recalling the days of my childhood. Quite aptly, arranging this piece gave me an avenue to express my sentimental thoughts, and say goodbye to an old house filled with so many memories.      I hope that both the performer and the listener can be transported back in time, even if just for a few minutes, to reminisce the happier and more carefree days of our lives. Furthermore, let us count our blessings in the present, as the future’s not ours to see.       Que Sera, Sera. What will be, will be. --If you have questions or comments, I'm most happy to hear from you at justingohcj@gmail.com

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1010568 Composed by Hannah Heinz. Christian,Classical,Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Spiritual. Score. 4 pages. Hannah Puckett #3034073. Published by Hannah Puckett (A0.1010568). Solo Piano Score - IntermediateEmbarking is infused with a lyrical melody that soars through the piece with grace. The Composer's Story:After packing and getting ready for a trip that would take me out of the country for the first time ever, I slowly passed the piano in the living room. Pausing, I sat down to play one more time before I departed. At that point, I did not know how many months or years it would be until I had the blessing of playing the piano again. Feeling the smooth keys, I started to play this melody. As I added in the arpeggiating left hand, this piece became the bittersweet goodbye at that point in my life. Leaving the instrument behind was not a final goodbye because I could take this melody with me in my heart. Original composition from GraceWave Audio by Hannah Heinz.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1174269 By Bing Crosby. By Irving Berlin. Arranged by Francesco Protasi. 20th Century,Christmas,Jazz,Standards. Score and parts. 47 pages. Francesco Protasi #774432. Published by Francesco Protasi (A0.1174269). This Irving Berlin classic has been arranged in a Basie-esque swing style. Originally commissioned for the B. Reed Henderson High School Jazz Ensemble, it has since been adapted for Little Big Band. This chart is meant to really lay back, but dont be fooled. The harmonies are meant to sing, even quietly, so there should be some intensity behind every note, and don't be afraid to exaggerate what is on the page. Rhythms, articulations, dynamics, everything is fair game. It's a simple chart, but it is more than capable of packing a punch!
