Shortly after Mimì, Rodolfo, and their friends have taken seats for a drink, Marcello's former girlfriend, Musetta, shows up with her current patron, the elderly Alcindoro. They quarrel for a bit, then the episode begins as Musetta initiates her move on Marcello. She grabs the spotlight, musically speaking, for a short self-promoting aria (Quando me'n vo'). It is a song directed at the people in the café as much as at the audience in the theater.

On the recommendation of the trumpeter, Amarildo Nascimento, two more movements followed this short composition when they were in the recording process.II. “Repose” was completed 20 Dec 2023 and gifted to the São Paulo Brass Trio.III. “Hope was originally a sketch intended for the São Paulo Brass Trio.  The incipient work was revived after the second movement “Repose” was completed, and reached finality less than three days later.The short and rewarding three-movement work was gifted to the São Paulo Brass Trio on Christmas Day, 2023.  It premiered as a whole work on 14 Mar 2024 at the Tumon Bay Music Festival in Guam.  It was also performed in São Paulo, Brazil around the same time.
