A somewhat melancholy solo piano arrangement of Whitney Houston's hit from 1987. Please note that although the rhythm is the same, the melody and harmonies in the verses of this arrangement have been altered from the original to make the overall mood of the piece more ambiguous and melancholy. Other harmonies have been altered as well.

In Rubicam's words: I pictured somebody single wishing that they could find that special person for themselves. It wasn't, 'I wanna go down the disco and dance,' really. It was, 'I wanna do that dance of life with somebody.' That was the thought behind the song.

Somebody Loves Me is a popular song, with music written by George Gershwin, and lyrics by Ballard MacDonald and Buddy DeSylva. The song was published in 1924 and featured in George White's Scandals of 1924. This is not to be confused with the Southern gospel song written by W.F. & Marjorie Crumley. The first recordings of Somebody Loves Me were a number of popular versions in 1924 and 1925 by Paul Whiteman, Ray Miller, Marion Harris and Cliff Edwards (aka Ukulele Ike) with the Whiteman version being top-rated. This version was developed from the original 1924 public domain sheet music and features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in many of  our arrangements. We hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!

Vince Peterson's epic arrangement of the Queen classic Somebody to Love is a much-loved staple of the American choral music landscape. Commissioned, premiered, and recorded by Chanticleer on their album Someone New in 2012, this piece has brought houses down all over the world. The construction of the arrangement adds material to fill in the instrumental gaps in a rhythmically charged way with an addictive motive on the words can somebody which repeats throughout.
