Mezzo-soprano, piano and violin - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q18785 For Mezzosoprano, Piano and Violin. Composed by Georg Kreisler. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 9 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q18785. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q18785). German.Fünf Lieder für Barbara are Georg Kreisler's last complete compositions. In them, he turned again to serious music. Kreisler's strong bonds to the musical tradition of his native town of Vienna, in this case especially to Franz Schubert, become particularly apparent. In the third song, for example, he takes up the text of Wilhelm Müller's 'Lindenbaum'. But Kreisler's setting with its completely different music material virtually turns Schubert's famous song upside down.

Baritone Horn TC,Vocal Solo,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.533384 Composed by Gregory Sullivan Isaacs. Contemporary,Holiday,Love. 20 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #2803929. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533384). Whitman only published one book – Leaves of Grass – but it was always a work in progress. He added poems and revised others for each succeeding edition. Thus, the first edition (1819) was a small book with only 12 poems and the last, often refered to as the Deathbed Edition (1892), contained over 400. Some of these he wrote in “clusters†of related poems. Such is the case with the Calamus cluster. The title was chosen to alert the reader that these were poems about what he called “the love of comrades,†“manly love†or with the code word, “adhesiveness.†The concept of homosexuality, as we know it today, was very different in Whitman’s time, but violently socially taboo. Acorus calamus is a reed-like species of marsh grass. In Poetry and Prose, Whitman wrote that it s a … very large and aromatic grass, or root, spears three feet high—often called 'sweet flag'—grows all over the Northern and Middle States.†The phallic plant has always been a symbol of love and associated with the Greek myth of Kalamos, son of the river god who loved the youth Karpos. When Karpos died in a swimming accident, Kalamos transformed himself into a reed so he could always be near the spot where his beloved died, and the rustling of the reeds in the winds sounds like moans of mourning. The Calamus cluster, 39 poems in all, recount the story of a manly love found and lost from the perspective of some time later. They are bittersweet memories. I chose four poems for my own cluster. They represent the four stages of such a relationship: initial attraction, first coy interactions, full-blossomed love, and the bitterness of it’s ending. It is possible that these events actually happened or that they all occurred in the poets mind without ever revealing his thoughts to the intended. Some musical devices, such as the rustling of the leaves in the third song and the constant use of seconds as two people who are close but not yet together in the second one, are obvious. But, other than some indications of tempo, I hesitate to give out remarks about how to perform the songs, or even metronome markings, that might give the singer a preconceived notion. This situation has happened to everyone. So, I say to the singer: revive the memories of a similar event in your life: a particularly heartbreaking one is best. Bring the telling of that memory to the vivid present, and tell us that story as if it ending some time ago but the hurt remains strong, If, by some chance, the singer has not had this experience, he should wait to sing this cycle until he has. High Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.845948 Composed by Maria Thompson Corley. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. 20 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #6265255. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.845948). These four songs were commissioned by Louise Toppin. The texts are by and about the composer's late brother, Terry (1963-88). The first, For Terry, has whole tone harmonies. Poem has a gospel/funk feel with a short moment of reggae. L'orangerie is distinctly French in its inspiration. The poignant final song, The Visitor, quotes Mendelssohn's Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, which was the only piano piece Terry would play on request. He always stopped after the easy part. The text is based on a dream the composer had a few months after her brother's death.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1044415 By Rihanna. By Esther Dean, Mikkel Eriksen, Sandy Wilhelm, and Tor Erik Hermansen. Arranged by Nat Brookes. Hip-Hop,Pop,R & B. Score and parts. 47 pages. Nat Brookes #649140. Published by Nat Brookes (A0.1044415). S&M - Rihanna Arranged by Nat Brookes for String QuartetPop Pad This is a total bop! A great song, playfully arranged for string quartet. Great for ensembles with attitude. Originally in E♭m, I have thoughtfully written the parts so that it can easily be played up one semitone in Em. There’s a lovely section featuring some jeté bowing in the second violin later on which could easily be simplified for less experienced players. This catchy, uptempo, Hi-NRG dance-pop anthem featured in the highly successful first Pitch Perfect film, with Ester Dean (who wrote it) nailing that iconic intro. S&M peaked at number one in ten countries in addition to the United States while peaking within the top five in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Ireland. As one of Rihanna’s most memorable songs, it’s sure to be recognised by many. Important: Included: Score and set of parts in E♭m and Em. I try to keep parts to two pages long, but in this case it wasn’t possible. Each part is three pages long Rehearsal marks throughout. Parts in E♭m are pages 11-24 Parts in Em are pages 36-47 You can help me to continue arranging pop songs by reviewing my arrangements and liking Pop Pad on Facebook.
