Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138458 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Christmas,Classical,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 14 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #738794. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1138458). This arrangement adapted for tenor saxophone quartet was designed to make its listeners weep with emotion, because the adaptation preserves the original essence of the work, keeping its integrity faithful to what Beethoven wanted to transmit, with only a slight change in tone and addition of harmonic resources in the structure of the arrangement. Even though it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion, being intended for beginner students who want to immerse themselves in the universe of romantic music, and nothing better than starting with the transitional composer of this period, which also does not prevent professional teachers from using it for recitals, academic presentations or didactic material in their classes as an ensemble practice. Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C minor sharp, Op. 27, No. 2, is one of his most popular compositions and was an audience favorite even in his day. Written when Beethoven was 31, the Moonlight Sonata (Mondscheinsonate in German) was composed after he finished some commissioned works, but there is no evidence that he was hired to write this work. It did not receive its nickname until 1832, five years after Beethoven's death. It was the critic Ludwig Rellstab who compared the music to a moonlighting on Lake Lucerne. This comparison was adopted as a nickname for the work. Called Quasi una fantasia by the author - like its companion Op. 27, No. 1 - the piece was completed in 1801 and dedicated the following year to one of the composer's pupils. Beethoven chose to open the sonata with a slow, hypnotic arpeggio movement, the best known of the entire work. The dotted rhythm of its minimal melody evokes the tradition of 'Trauermusik' (funeral music).

Digital Download SKU: A0.1071347 By Jubal's Lyre Music. By Hans Leo Hassler. Arranged by Martin Dicke. 21st Century,Christian,Lent,Religious,Sacred. Full Performance. Duration 501. Jubal's Lyre Music Publishers #6826357. Published by Jubal's Lyre Music Publishers (A0.1071347). This is the downloadable audio file of the Partita on O Sacred Head, Now Wounded for String Quartet by Martin Dicke. A full score and set of parts are also available (S0.1195113). Based on the tune HERZLICH TUT MICH VERLANGEN by Renaissance composer Hans Leo Hassler (1564-1612), this partita consists of six movements. Chorale settings frame inner movements that employ doleful ostinatos, a quasi-canon, and a bicinium that turns into a trio at the cadences. With anguished and unconventional harmonies, the work begins fortissimo on a second inversion of an F major seventh chord and ends pianissimo eight minutes later on an A major chord. Originally composed for organ, this partita works well for strings and is particularly suited for Lent, Holy Week, or communion services. A compatible edition is available for Woodwind Quintet. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497036 Composed by Alan Menken. Arranged by Eric R. 20th Century,Broadway,Contemporary,Film/TV,Musical/Show. Score. 10 pages. Overture & Storybook Musical Arrangements #1073453. Published by Overture & Storybook Musical Arrangements (A0.1497036). 'The Storm' is an action-adventure score cue from The Little Mermaid (1989), in which Prince Eric's ship is caught in a storm at sea, and ends with Ariel rescuing Eric. This is the first action cue of it's kind from Alan Menken's extensive repertoire of Disney animated film scores. 'The Storm' makes extensive use of the Prince Eric leitmotif, which is featured throughout the film in both major and minor keys. It opens with the melody from the 'Jig', and makes reference to 'Part of Your World' near the end of the cue. The melody from 'The Storm' also makes its reprise in the climax of the film. The Little Mermaid (1989) score garnered Alan Menken his first 2 Academy Awards (best original score and best original song), with many more Oscar winnings to follow. This arrangement for solo piano is a reduction of the full orchestra, and is suited for Intermediate+ pianists. Chords are marked throughout. It has fewer time signature changes than the recorded version - making it more natural to play as a solo on the piano.

Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1140800 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 12 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #741056. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1140800). This arrangement adapted for tenor sax quartet was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change in key, so that it is comfortable for all instruments in the formation, thus maintaining the essence of the striking melody, as well as using it for ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (To Joy), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as the instruments in a symphony, thus creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form that was to be adopted by Romantic composers. This is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy..

Chief Sitting In The Rain (cello – vln, vla, cel) MO114CCello Part (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor2 pages - 2:00 minutes in length Chief Sitting In The Rain adapted for violin, viola and cello is a traditional fiddle tune that Mark O'Connor and Edgar Meyer arranged for their album with Yo-Yo Ma entitled Appalachia Waltz. O'Connor learned this tune from fiddling legend Benny Thomasson at an early age. Thomasson developed the parts of the tune as incorporated here. O'Connor and Meyer then completed the arrangement with understated counterpoint lines. The result is an old-time fiddle tune with a classical charm. Chief Sitting In The Rain, also known as Chief Sitting Bull has the distinction of being the first piece the trio played in public. Immediately following their first rehearsal, Ma and Meyer stopped by O'Connor's class of students at Vanderbilt University and ended up playing the new music. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1995 Public Domain Arranged by Mark O’Connor and Edgar MeyerOriginally released on Appalachia Waltz featuring Mark O’Connor, Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer, Sony ClassicalChief Sitting In The Rain can be heard on Mark O'Connor's Crossing Bridges OMAC Recordshttps://omacrecords.com/omac-7-crossing-bridges Catalogue Number MO114CCopyright © 1995 by Mark O’Connor Music InternationalFor more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:www.oconnormethod.com
