Nadia's Theme was originally used as incidental music for the 1971 film Bless the Beasts and the Children but has come to be better known as the theme music for the TV soap opera The Young and the Restlass. The song was also associated with Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci during the 1976 Summer Olympics. It's a beautifully melancholic melody with a simplistic sincerity that can stir deep emotions. It is well-suited for strings, and in this String Quartet arrangement, each of the 4 instruments gets a chance to voice the melody.

♫ The storyline behind the music is the interaction between Mary and Martha, 2 sisters with different personalities and goals.
♫ Martha’s theme is set in the Dorian Mode. The 5/4 meter is hectic and efficient. Mary’s theme is set in the Mixolydian Mode in 3/4 alternating with 4/4 time (effectively 7/4. This theme is calm and deep in thought.
