Flute Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.546452 By Frank Sinatra. By Fred Ebb and John Kander. Arranged by Leo Silva. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Multicultural,Musical/Show,Traditional,World. Individual part. 2 pages. MP Sheet Music #156472. Published by MP Sheet Music (A0.546452). Theme from New York, New York (or New York, New York) is the theme song for the Martin Scorsese film New York, New York (1977), composed by John Kander, with lyrics by Fred Ebb. It remains one of the best-known songs about New York City. In 2004, it finished 31st in the AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs poll of top American film songs. In 1979, Theme from New York, New York was recorded by Frank Sinatra for his album Trilogy: Past Present Future (1980), and has become closely associated with it as one of his signature songs. Don Costa received a Grammy nomination for energetic orchestration. Sinatra occasionally performed the song live with Minnelli as a duet. Sinatra recorded for the second time for his 1993 album Duets, with Tony Bennett. Sinatra's recording peaked at #32 in June 1980, becoming his final Top 40 hit. It was also an Adult Contemporary hit, reaching #10 in the US[2] and #2 in Canada. [3] The song made a small showing in the UK (#59); however, it reappeared several years later and reached No. 4 in 1986. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male and Sinatra made two more studio recordings of the song in 1981 (for their NBC TV special The Man and His Music) and 1993 (for Capitol Records). From the latter, an electronic duet with Tony Bennett was produced for Sinatra's Duets album.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.948762 By Howard Goodall. By Howard Goodall. Arranged by Warren J. Wernick. Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. Warren J Wernick #5713803. Published by Warren J Wernick (A0.948762). Blackadder is a series of four BBC One pseudohistorical British sitcoms, plus several one-off installments, which originally aired from 1983–1989. All television episodes starred Rowan Atkinson as the antihero Edmund Blackadder and Tony Robinson as Blackadder's dogsbody, Baldrick. Each series was set in a different historical period, with the two protagonists accompanied by different characters, though several reappear in one series or another, e.g., Melchett (Stephen Fry) and Lord Flashheart (Rik Mayall). The theme song is composed by Howard Goodall, an English composer of musicals, choral music and music for television. He also presents music-based programs for television and radio, for which he has won many awards. In May 2008, he was named as a presenter and Composer-in-Residence with the UK radio channel Classic FM. In May 2009, he was named Composer of the Year at the Classic BRIT Awards. Goodall said of the Theme, They asked me if I would have a go at the tune. With all of these things, although I do come up with my own ideas, you don't really come up with a good one unless you talk it through with them and the vision they've got. It was quite obvious, the historical approach they were going for. What's interesting is that the first series, the medieval one with 'Richard the Fourth', was much more filmic and much more historical. That's why we ended up with that tune. Whereas had the first series been the Elizabethan one, the theme would have been slightly gentler, less heroic. .

Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1403993 Composed by Ben Lewis Reynolds, Edward Sheldrake, Joseph Martin Auckland, Mark Christopher Brown, and William George Collier. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Comedy,Film/TV. 8 pages. Derek Hasted #987170. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1403993). The TASKMASTER THEME - 3 GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical Guitar primarily - also suits Acoustic Guitar or Electric GuitarDerek Hasted writes Alex Horne and The Horne Section is an ensemble thatâ??s particularly hard to describe - consummate musicians and wicked comedy. So far they havenâ??t quite achieved the fame that their talent, skill and originality deserve.Alex Horne is also known as the creator of â??Taskmasterâ?, a TV program that laughs at comedians, rather than with them, as they tackle tasks that require lateral thinking and a razor sharp mind. The Taskmaster Theme is tricky only because of its speed. Itâ??s also annoyingly short, but for UK audiences, at least, itâ??s an instant crowd-pleaser. Then again, taken a little more slowly it's accessible to intermediate players and lasts a little longer too! The tone of the guitar is actually, well-suited to a more modest speed.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1275338 By Dire Straits. By Mark Knopfler. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV,Pop. 17 pages. Derek Hasted #867221. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1275338). LOCAL HERO - WILD THEME - Student/Teacher GUITAR DUETPrimarily for Classical Guitar but also suitable for acoustic or electric guitars.Derek Hasted writes Rightly described as an astonishingly beautiful piece, this music from the film Local Hero actually features twice on the soundtrack album, in different keys with different solo instruments. My arrangement for classical guitar exploits the soft tones of the nylon strings and works well at a slightly more modest pace compared to the original. Iâ??ve taken the theme from the closing soundtrack version, where the melody is clear and powerful. Each player in the ensemble takes the lead part in turn, and my arrangement includes one or two little bits of Mark Knopflerâ??s quasi-improvised variations on the tune. This enjoyable concert item has a wonderfully captivating melody that the audience will be humming all the way home... My duet arrangement comes in 2 formats... This one (for student and teacher) comprises a melody line set in both score and score tab and a teacher's accompaniment set in score only. The student line is early intermediate and the teacher's part is advanced intermediate.A separate performance version (in which the workload is shared equally and thereâ??s a truly effortless switching of parts in the middle), set in score-only for two advanced intermediate players. To find the other version easily, visit my website (below) and look for my list of guitar duets.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Theme and Variations-Accompaniment Track, Dan CutchenTime: approximately 6:00And Can It Be That I Should Gain? is a Christian hymn written by Charles Wesley. And Can It Be was written in 1738 to celebrate Wesley's conversion, which he regarded as having taken place on May 21 of that year. This beautiful hymn has been popular and enduring. And Can It Be That I Should Gain is perhaps one of the most joyfully poignant hymns penned by Charles Wesley (1707-1788). On Whitsunday (Pentecost), May 21, 1738, three days before his brother John experienced his heart strangely warmed,’ Charles was convalescing in the home of John Bray, a poor mechanic, when he heard a voice saying, In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, arise, and believe, and thou shalt be healed of all thy infirmities. The voice was most likely Mr. Bray’s sister who felt commanded to say these words in a dream.Anglican hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith, notes that the following then happened:Charles got out of bed and opening his Bible read from the Psalms: He have put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God, followed by the first verse of Isaiah 40, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He wrote in his journal, I have found myself at peace with God, and rejoiced in the hope of love Christ (Dudley-Smith, 1987, 1).The statement from Mr. Bray’s sister sparked within Charles a conviction like he had never felt before. Moved and convicted in spirit, Charles wrestled with these words until he came to rest in his faith, knowing that it is by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).Soon after this conversion experience, he wrote two hymns in celebration of the amazing love he had come to know: And Can It Be that I Should Gain and Where Shall My Wondering Soul Begin? (United Methodist Hymnal, 342)There has been some debate as to which hymn was written first, but most current scholarship accepts the latter as the first hymn written by Charles after his conversion experience. No matter its place in the chronology of Wesley's output, And Can It Be has been and remains one of his most remarkable hymns, expressing like no other the rapturous joy of receiving salvation. And Can It Be That I Should Gain.
