French Horn Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018911 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 1 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6064775. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018911). Programme Notes: It is said that the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn. – Thomas Fuller Mornings are powerful and evocative moments. The chorus of birds, one species after another, unite in a wild and genuine polyphony while the dew and mist evaporate upon the rising of the sun, encouraging goosebumps and shivers from an open window, tempered or exhilarated by a cup of coffee. Have you ever actively witnessed the sun’s sultry and intense ascension from the cradle of the horizon? That is what this piece, Aubade, or Dawn Song, is about. An aubade is the twin of a night-time serenade; an aubade is a love song originating amongst the medieval Provençal troubadours, depicting the morning departure between two lovers. An aubade is a song in honor of the slow cosmic percolation of a late summer morning. On a personal level, the composer is reminded of his own experiences camping in Northern Canada as a young man–a simpler and less demanding time. This piece formally begins the series I composed during the Covid-19 quarantine conditions of 2020, to serve as potential contemporary preludes for each of Ludwig van Beethoven’s nine symphonies–his two hundred and fiftieth anniversary was this year!–though they can all stand on their own on any program. The connection, in this case, is with his first symphony; I envisioned, once my piece concludes, his beautiful drawn-out chords presenting themselves–the dawn of his special genius.About the Composer: Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Since developing a fiercely independent creative voice upon the completion of his studies at Western (2010) and McGill Universities (2013), he continues to find inspiration from the intersection of mythology, art, and nature upon the contemporary human experience. In 2019, he released his premiere album of original music, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings, with support from the Ontario Arts Council. He is a member of SOCAN and the League of Canadian Composers.

Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1176377). I'll Have to Say I Love You in a Song is the title of a posthumously released single by the American singer-songwriter Jim Croce. The song was written by Croce and was originally released on his album I Got a Name. It entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at position No. 73 in March 1974. It peaked at No. 9 in April 1974, becoming his fifth and final Top 10 hit. In addition, the song went to No. 1 on the Billboard adult contemporary chart and reached No. 68 on the Billboard country music chart, Croce's only song to chart there. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. For interest and to keep the rhythm moving, we added some pretty cool left-hand fills. We hope you like what we've done with the song!

My goal is to create something that sounds beautiful as a standalone piece of music and, most importantly, that it also makes pianistic sense. Each of my arrangements is made for a specific student, so the results will vary in terms of playing level. Most decisions are based on their current skills and abilities, or where I would like for them to be when they complete the piece. This arrangement was made for a mid-beginner student working in Level 1/2 of Alfred's Masterwork Classics, Primary II Class. Great exercise for counting tied eighth notes. But the truth is, when a student knows the song, sometimes the counting goes straight out the window! My student ended up learning this in about two weeks. We were both surprised! Pedal and fingering suggestions are included.

Instrumental Solo,Tin Whistle - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1174175 Composed by Charles C. Converse. Arranged by Cindy Blevins. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious. Individual part. 8 pages. Cindy Blevins #774340. Published by Cindy Blevins (A0.1174175). Note: You can see an excerpt of both the solo without fingerings and the solo with fingerings. The blank pages you may see in the samples are there on purpose to avoid showing more than the music sample. This arrangement is for solo (unaccompanied) Tin Whistle. You receive the tin whistle part without fingering diagrams, the same part but WITH fingering diagrams and a comprehensive fingering chart for your tin whistle. So if you enjoy playing the notes on the staff, there is a part for you! And if you need the diagrams for learning, or for using every time, there's a part for you! Tin whistle isn't just for Irish music, it is extremely versatile and fun to play! Please note, my Tin Whistle is a high D. I write for D whistle because it is a very common key that many people have. The fingering chart I put together shows the D scale, with chromatic fingerings you may need some day! But if you're playing a different key of whistle, you can also play this piece. It is unaccompanied, and all keys of tin whistle are fingered the same. So follow the part with diagrams if you need to.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.977365 Composed by Frank Loesser. Arranged by Des McNutty. Contemporary. Score and parts. 61 pages. Des Press #6888385. Published by Des Press (A0.977365). If I Were a Bell is a song from the 1950 musical Guys and Dolls, based on Damon Runyan stories from Broadway in the prohibition era. Sky, the thirsty gambler, takes straight-laced Salvationist Sarah to Havana for a bet. They drink a local milkshake with sugar and a little native flavouringSarah: What's the name of the flavouring?Sky: Bacardi.Sarah: Doesn't Bacardi have alcohol in it?Sky: Oh, only enough to act as a preservative.Sarah: You know, this would be a wonderful way to get children to drink milk! After a couple of those, she bursts into song. Doris Day had a Top-20 hit with If I Were a Bell in 1950 and many singers have covered it since. Its place as a Jazz Standard was cemented in 1956 on the album Relaxin' with The Miles Davis Quintet. This original arrangement for big band features a solo flute - if not a flute solo - and, at 128 BPM, is slightly slower than usual. It was written in the mid-1990s for the Morley College Jazz Orchestra in London (then directed by Gordon BAP! Rose and Pete Pearl and Dean Moore). The style is in the direction of the understated West-Coast sound (Count Basie/Bill Russo/Bill Holman), with tipsy soli sections and a shout-chorus. The part for second alto OR first tenor is the same, meaning the flautist can be either an alto or tenor player. Well, if I were a salad I know I'd be splashing my dressing.Hic!
