Alto Voice,Bass Voice,Cello,Piano Accompaniment,Soprano voice,Tenor Voice,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1318802 Composed by Connie Boss. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christmas,Holiday. 122 pages. Connie Boss #907356. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1318802). Everyone knows how special the star was for the birth of Jesus. The star guided many along the way to find the manger that Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby, Jesus were at. This cantata reflects the importance of the star during that time. Most of the songs have lyrics about the star.  The cantata starts off with Mary finding out from the angel that God chose her to bear his son - Ave Maria was redone for this advent moment. It keeps to the melody and Ave Maria words are still part of the lyrics. Some of the lyrics have the English translation in the song, while other lyrics are new for this Christmas song. The next song O Little Town of Bethlehem is where Mary and Joseph have to travel to pay their taxes and where     Jesus is born. This is where the star shines down for all to see.  This is the traditional song, but I have added extra lyrics at the end of each original verse. Next, the shepherds seeing the star decide to travel to Bethlehem. Pachelbel Canon is so iconic, but I have added lyrics from While Shepherds watched their flocks by night, Away in a Manger, What Child is This and The First Noel. The choir parts bring rich harmonies to the piece. The Angels said leave your sheep and leave your lambs. Rise up Shepherd and Follow. Now we are at the manger. I composed the song - A Little Baby. He was born to save us all. . Still, Still, Still “Tis the Night of Our Savior’s Birth has added lyrics to each verse that ties in with the original lyrics. The title of this cantata is They Saw A Star - this is from the song I composed with the same title. It not only brings in the shepherds, but also the Three Wisemen. To close out this cantata, I have used the lyrics from We Three Kings and the melody of Scarborough Fair. This arrangement has an ST duet with SATB choir parts with ahhs that sound very mysterious. It also does include parts for strings if you are lucky enough to have violins and a cello. The strings parts are the same as the choir parts, so it is perfectly fine to do this with just a choir.  I hope you enjoy singing and listening to this cantata—Connie Boss.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1074907 Composed by Joshua A. Idio. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and parts. 55 pages. Joshua A Idio #679162. Published by Joshua A Idio (A0.1074907). Composed by Joshua A. Idio. Chamber Music. String Quartet. This is a two-movement piece comprising of a prelude and an allegro. The entire piece is meant to convey a simple story of witnessing the change of different lifestyles, from the peaceful and simple rural life to the electrifying grandeur of urban city life. The prelude, signifying the rural atmosphere, begins with unsettling chords that feel seasonal and constantly moving. The different string melodies are as lovingly soothing as playing in the grassy fields and mountains. They are fun, pleasant, and whimsical, and they express the rather playful and tranquil setting of rural living. The beginning chords may feel unusually active, but it also adds to the color of this calming tranquility. Life couldn't be any better. In contrast to the fun and joyful theme of the prelude, the allegro embodies the absolute hustle and bustle of the big city. Explosive harmonies progress through the movement. Melodies from the prelude now intertwine with this new faster theme, playing more lively and vigorous. The mood has changed. Everything seems fast-paced and maybe overloading. But, maybe that's not a bad thing. A bit into the movement, as the hustle and bustle finally slow down, the essence of the prelude returns to calm the music. Homesickness mixed with overwhelming emotions is just as powerful of an expression as joy or anger. Filled with confidence and resolve, the music quickens back into its fast theme. The nature of intense focus, inspired by the urban surroundings, mixes with the joy and fun of the old ways. Everything now seems not just more familiar and comforting, but lively as well. As the music reaches its end, those unsettling chords from the prelude return to once again remind us that the rural lifestyle will always be a part of us. Maybe this city life won't be such a bad thing. We experience the best life when it comes with change. While I never lived in a rural community myself, I can empathize with the experience of people who have from their own stories and emotions. And when they move into the overwhelming cityscape, they sometimes either break down or build up. In the end, though, I can never really understand what it is like until I move into a rural community. But I know nothing will ever change how they grew up there, as the experiences always seem to follow them into the next chapter of their adventures. And it is because of that kind of beautiful resolve, did I nickname this Prelude and Allegro Urbanalia. When life meets change it opens up a whole new story.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1510561 Composed by Michael Close. 21st Century,Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Score. 20 pages. Abundant Silence #1085760. Published by Abundant Silence (A0.1510561). Cat Mewsikby Michael Close For Solo Piano, Early Advanced, 18 Pages I have four cats at home, which qualifies me as a borderline crazy cat man. If I neglect to close the piano lid, I’ll sometimes hear them walk across the piano keys in the middle of the night, waking up the house with dissonant clusters of notes going high to low, or low to high- this was the initial inspiration for these three pieces for piano about cats.Birds at the Window - We have hung our birdfeeder outside our window. The windowsill is a favorite spot for the kitties to relax and stretch in the sun. When the birds come to feed, the cats bristle with excitement as they chatter and swat at the window. The birds seem to know they are safe and fly around freely.Kitty’s Dream - Housecats spend most of their life sleeping or dozing. I’ve read that cats do dream. I wonder what they dream of.The Laser Pointer - The kitties seem to know that we are teasing them with the laser pointer, but they can’t fight the instinct to chase it. They feign disinterest, hoping to catch the dot off guard. In a flash they leap for the dot, skidding wildly. Of course, they never catch it. I almost feel bad for laughing. Eventually, they will become frustrated and disgusted with this game and slink away.-Michael Close.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.915693 Composed by Richard Joseph Barber. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 13 pages. Barber Music Company #3868985. Published by Barber Music Company (A0.915693). Voicing: SAB w/ piano. Range: Sop., C4 to A5; Alt., C4 to E-flat 5; Baritone., C3 to E-flat 4. Duration: 2:40. Use: Christmas services. Great for choirs low on male voices. Performance: I wrote this piece as the finale to The Father Sent the Son, a cantata I wrote for one of my church choirs. The last theme in this piece is a reprise of the title music. I was thinking of the shepherds running to tell their neighbors what they had seen that wonderful night in Bethlehem. Avoid singing with a heavy tone. There should be buoyancy in the tone and in the diction. The tempo is fast a mm140, but it works if you pianist can handle it. I have done it at mm132 on more than occasion for a piano player's sake. It still worked okay, but if you can manage 140,do it. By the way, every choir that I have done this piece with has enjoyed it thoroughly. It is fun to sing and to hear. Please send your comments, and questions. I will be happy to hear from you! Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.505159 Composed by Kurt Schulenburg. Blues,Jazz. Score and parts. 48 pages. Kurt Schulenburg #6565335. Published by Kurt Schulenburg (A0.505159). This is a slow start in the morning sort of blues, meant to be played like the coffee hasn't quite kicked in. It's a simple blues in Concert F (despite the key signature where I've added that flatted seventh!) and is a great vehicle for developing young soloists - or pushing those with more experience to new highs! The mp3 is just a MuseScore3 export, nothing fancy, but it gives you an idea of what to expect. I've not included any solos, making this a good mp3 to give to your soloists to play along with. It's not too tough, should be playable by many advanced grade school and all high school bands - and it's scored to sound good even with pro groups.

Green Green Grass is a song by British singer-songwriter George Ezra. It was released on 22 April 2022, as the second single from Ezra's third studio album Gold Rush Kid. The song reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Ezra's seventh top ten song there and was nominated for the Brit Award for Song Of The Year at the 2023 Brit Awards. The song was inspired by a 2018 Christmas holiday trip to St. Lucia by Ezra and his friends.[2] About the lyrical background of the song, Ezra explained, there was a street party going on, with three different sound systems, people cooking in the street. I asked a woman what was going on and she told me it was a funeral – for three people. They were celebrating three lives! I thought: that is not how we do this at home. And it's really beautiful.

Instrumental Duet,Pedal Harp,Steel Pan - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1434595 Composed by Cameron Duncan. 21st Century,Chamber,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious. 30 pages. Cameron Duncan #1014719. Published by Cameron Duncan (A0.1434595). Provision is a duet for pedal harp and tenor steel drum. The piece is inspired by God's provision for my wife and I, always taking care of us in times of need. The steel pan is representative of us. Searching, filled with doubt and anxiety about the future, and jumping to conclusions. The harp is representative of God's provision. The pan learns to listen, emulate, and look more like the harp's material more and more over time, ultimately finding peace and assurance. The difficult situations never leave, but neither does hope. God has provided for our physical, financial, and emotional needs, to be sure, but he also provided His Son as Savior and Counselor to us in every moment of every day. This is provision beyond words, beyond comprehension, and well beyond what this piece can say. I truly hope you enjoy this piece and give glory back to God for his provision.

When you don't know what piece to give for 2 friends who want to play together, who's taste is more directed for pop music....why not some good oldies?Being a classical pianist, it's difficult to find good material for students who prefer to play pop music. So I decided to go for the amazing 70's and arrange some songs myself. They came out so good, that I needed to share them with the world!

String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533560 Composed by Frederick Frahm. Contemporary,Folk,Holiday,Patriotic. Score and parts. 26 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3020007. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533560). This is the score of this work. The string parts are available on rental from the publisher. Composer's note:On 31 October 1517, Dr. Martin Luther, according to church custom, posted a document presenting 95 theses intended for scholarly debateon the door of the Castle Church of Wittenberg. As a teacher, theologian, and a pastor he found much to be concerned with in the conduct of hismother, the Church. His intent was to begin a conversation over honestgrievances and to persuade those who would lead to take a path moreconsistent with the teachings they espoused.Spaces of Night takes its impetus from this desire to speak truth to power. It's music, with no small sympathy towards the tonal language and dialectof the classic American liturgical tradition, is at times parody and at othertimes anti-parody. It's libretto, while created 100 years ago by a celebratedAmerican author, speaks in our present age to an empire that has lost its way.Its voice is not one of despair and rage, but hope for and commitment to the future of the gathered community. If I should cast off this tattered coat,And go free into the mighty sky;If I should find nothing thereBut a vast blue,Echoless, ignorant —What then?

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1305353 Composed by John W. Fisher. Christian,Contemporary,Instructional,Praise & Worship,Religious. Score. 5 pages. John Fisher #894794. Published by John Fisher (A0.1305353). This sermon song is based on a sermon delivered by Rev. Roger Peterson at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers Florida on August 13, 2023 based on the text of Psalm 19: 1-14.. It actually has the lyric of Psalm 19;14 directly embeded in it.  Rev. Peterson projected real images of a telescope and a microscope on the front of the church. They are referenced in the song.  The tune has an interesting history.  When I was a middle school teacher back in the '80's, our assitant pricipal told the first assembly there were just a few rules to follow to not be in trouble.  He said, If you're where you'r supposed to be; and it's when you're supposed to be there; and you're doing what you're supposed to do; you're OK, tha's all you need to know.    I set that to music and our middle school chorus sang it in the spring concert.   ( This can really be a guide for all parents and teachers ! )  It became the tune for this 2023 sermon song.

Twitter, founded in March of 2006, is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to post short messages of no more that 140 characters. Because it works as an application on cell phones people can share information immediately.  In its short time, Twitter has become embedded in our increasingly networked society. The composition Twitter takes five famous tweets-some serious, others funny, and some historic and presents a musical interpretation.  In keeping with the idea that a tweet is a short message, each movement of Twitter is approximately 140 seconds long. 1.  There’s a plane in the Hudson.  I’m on the ferry going to pick up the people.  Crazy.  Janis Krums, 12:36 p.m. Jan15, 2009Janis Krums posted this text and the first photo of US Airways flight 1549 moments after the plane made an emergency landing in the Hudson River after hitting a flock of birds.  His quick action helped to notify rescue workers and the media.  2.  Today I interviewed a squirrel in my backyard and then threw to commercial.  Somebody help me.Conan O’Brien, 3:54 p.m. Feb. 24, 2009 Shortly after being dismissed from the Tonight Show and finding himself in-between jobs, Conan O’Brien joined Twitter.  As with many celebrities, a Twitter account can allow fans to stay in touch and feel connected.  What was amazing in this case was that in just two hours after this first tweet he had over 125,000 followers-the largest number ever in such a short time.  His number has since grown to nearly 3 million. 3.  ArrestedJames Buck, 9:30 a.m. April  10 A graduate student from the University of California-Berkeley, James Buck was covering an anti-government protest in Egypt.  Buck was caught up in a demonstration, and while being taken to jail had time to post a one-word tweet-arrested.  Within seconds colleagues in the United States got word of his arrest and notified the university, the US Embassy, and a number of press organizations on his behalf, leading to his freedom. 4.  We just made history.  All of this happened because you gave your time, talent and passion.  All of this happened because of you.  Thanks. Barack Obama, 11:34 a.m. Nov. 5, 2008 The Obama 2008 campaign was historic on a number of counts, and the use of technology and social media was one of them.  This tweet was sent to over 2.6 million followers just after the election. 5.  Are you ready to celebrate? MarsPhoenix, 5:14 PM Jun 19th, 2008  NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has made an innovative use of twitter by sending messages from the Mars Phoenix lander’s point of view.   The message above is undoubtedly the most exciting news ever to be tweeted on behalf of an extraterrestrial robot.

Duration 12 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q41782. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q41782). The title, No other people., is taken from Raymond Roussel's New Impressions of Africa, a fifty-nine page poem which took him fifteen years to write - a length of time mainly caused by his tortuous compositional methods. In Roussel, sentences are broken down in maze-like ways, often producing others which relate to the sound of the original.I'm not aware of any direct, illustrative connection between the music of No other people. and Roussel's book. But I was very struck by the everydayness of Zo's drawings. There is something poignant in his not knowing what he was illustrating. Like the drawings of a blind person. Their banality takes on a mysteriousness by being placed by Roussel in his book, seeming to illustrate bizarre events unknown to Zo.They are impersonal, the people in them unaware that they lead another life in a poem of which they know nothing.Something of this is in the music.Gerald Barry, 2009.
