Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1036020 Composed by Brian Bennett, Bruce Welch, Hank Brian Marvin, and John Henry Rostill. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Blues,Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 21 pages. Derek Hasted #641118. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1036020). THE RISE and FALL of FLINGEL BUNT - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar. Derek Hasted writes What a wonderful title - the story behind the title is explained succinctly on the Wikipedia website. This bluesy piece by The Shadows makes a really accessible guitar quartet for an intermediate ensemble, and a foot-tapping crowd-pleaser for a school recital or as an contrasting item in an adult concert. There are some x-headed notes - simply clap your hands together on the beat and I am sure the audience will join in - they used to when the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra played it - frequently failing to clap at the right time at all!Guitars 2 and 3 are the easiest lines - perfect for the less-experienced players in a mixed ability group. Guitar 4 has a fun and funky bass line. Guitar 1 goes quite high, but I have presented the notes at pitch and also in 8va notation so that your reading of the “on-the-body-notes†is clear and error-free. The soundfile on the publisher’s website is that of Hampshire Guitar Orchestra live in concert.I hope you enjoy performing this!

Timpani,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1175686 Composed by Georg Philipp Telemann. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Historic,Instructional,March. 157 pages. Regis Bookshar #775803. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1175686). Heroic Music - A Suite of Twelve Short Marches (Complete) - Georg Philipp Telemann - Trumpet Quintet, Timpani - Intermediate - Digital Download.Heroic Music (or Heldenmusik) is a suite of twelve short marches and processionals, written by Georg Philipp Telemann in 1728, and is associated with various attributes of Heroism such as Dignity, Bravery and Alertness. All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Bookshar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quintets. Some of them have also been aranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. They can be purchased individually, or, if you prefer, as a complete set of all twelve at a huge saving.Any of these selections would be a wonderful addition to any music library, but this complete set of all twelve would be fabulous. They are perfectly suited to recitals and public performances, can stand alone as short interludes and are generally well received by audiences. They are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these arrangements. These selections are some of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. In the past, these compositions have often been performed by a soloist playing on a Piccolo Trumpet, but these new arrangements are Bb Trumpet friendly as one player stated after playing through them, making them much easier for most high school students. This selection, Heroic Music - A Suite of Twelve Marches (Complete), is arranged for a Trumpet Quintet and for some selections, a Timpani. There is a version for a Trumpet Quintet, without the Timpani, if you prefer. The twelve movements are as follows: No.   1. La Majeste (associated with Dignity); No.   2. La Grace (associated with Grace); No.   3. La Vaillance (associated with Bravery); No.   4. La Tranquillite (associated with Composure); No.   5. L'Armement (associated with Rearmament); No.   6. L'Amour (associated with Love); No.   7. La Vigilance (associated with Alertness); No.   8. La Gaillardise (associated with Abandon); No.   9. La Douceur (associated with Gentleness); No. 10. La Generosite (associated with Magnanimity); No. 11. L'Esperance (associated with Hope); and No. 12. La Rejouissance (associated with Joy). To hear what they sound like, search for the individual selections because I could not download the large mp3 file. Included are scores and a complete set of parts (157 pages). These selections are readily available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of these compositions. You may find something else that may suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I am certain that these wonderful arrangements of Georg Philipp Telemann's Heroic Music will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767031 Composed by Mike Lyons. 20th Century,Contemporary,Multicultural,Patriotic,World. Brass Band. 185 pages. Lyons Music Services #46377. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767031). This is an arrangement for Brass Band of my Flute Octet of the same name. It will need at least a 1st section band to handle the last movement. This might be a good piece to use in an entertainments contest. There is quite a bit for the percussion to do which took some doing as the original had none. The four movements represent my thoughts about Canada and its people. 1. March for the Frontiersmen: Canada has a lot of wilderness that has not been spoiled by man. This movement represents the rugged frontiersmen pushing through the Canadian forests. 2. The Great White Cold: I imagined the bitter freezing cold and icy beauty of Canadian winters (not that I have ever experienced such) and I used some slightly unusual techniques to create the impression of a cold wind blowing across the arctic scenery. 3. Campfire Songs: I had this vision of the great outdoors with Canadian families going camping in the mountainous regions sitting round their campfire at night and singing songs. I had no idea at the time whether Canadians were campfire songsters or what kinds of songs they might choose, so I selected a number of ’folk’ songs from the Great Canadian Tune Book and incorporated them into this movement. 4. The New Found Land: This movement moves to Canada’s eastern seaboard and I imagined new emigrants to the country arriving at a busy harbour and seeing all the hustle and bustle of a lively community and sea port. With some difficulty the debarkees find their land legs but then become absorbed in the lively new world to which they have moved.

Cello,English Horn,Oboe,Piano Accompaniment - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1020744 Composed by Brian Strohmetz. Contemporary. 22 pages. Brian Strohmetz #5299807. Published by Brian Strohmetz (A0.1020744). Time: 4min Instrumentation: Solo Oboe/English Horn, Solo Cello, Piano Accompaniment Program Notes: The definition of Bokeh according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary;  the blurred quality or effect seen in the out-of-focus portion of a photograph taken with a narrow depth of field. It wasn’t until I set out to write this piece that I did research on one of my favorite photographic techniques. I always called bokeh those cool looking out of focus lights. Once I learned the techniques name, my fascination with it grew. In my research, I found that the photographs I was drawn to the most were those of out of focus city lights, and out of focus Christmas lights. One had a frantic beauty, the other a more calming comforting beauty. All beautiful in their own unique way. I wanted to capture in music what the photographer captured in film. To capture a certain kinetic electric energy. To capture a certain kind of momentary beauty. To see through music the photographers eye. Published by Abundant Silence (A0.1510561). Cat Mewsikby Michael Close For Solo Piano, Early Advanced, 18 Pages I have four cats at home, which qualifies me as a borderline crazy cat man. If I neglect to close the piano lid, I’ll sometimes hear them walk across the piano keys in the middle of the night, waking up the house with dissonant clusters of notes going high to low, or low to high- this was the initial inspiration for these three pieces for piano about cats.Birds at the Window - We have hung our birdfeeder outside our window. The windowsill is a favorite spot for the kitties to relax and stretch in the sun. When the birds come to feed, the cats bristle with excitement as they chatter and swat at the window. The birds seem to know they are safe and fly around freely.Kitty’s Dream - Housecats spend most of their life sleeping or dozing. I’ve read that cats do dream. I wonder what they dream of.The Laser Pointer - The kitties seem to know that we are teasing them with the laser pointer, but they can’t fight the instinct to chase it. They feign disinterest, hoping to catch the dot off guard. In a flash they leap for the dot, skidding wildly. Of course, they never catch it. I almost feel bad for laughing. Eventually, they will become frustrated and disgusted with this game and slink away.-Michael Close.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.915693 Composed by Richard Joseph Barber. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 13 pages. Barber Music Company #3868985. Published by Barber Music Company (A0.915693). Voicing: SAB w/ piano. Range: Sop., C4 to A5; Alt., C4 to E-flat 5; Baritone., C3 to E-flat 4. Duration: 2:40. Use: Christmas services. Great for choirs low on male voices. Performance: I wrote this piece as the finale to The Father Sent the Son, a cantata I wrote for one of my church choirs. The last theme in this piece is a reprise of the title music. I was thinking of the shepherds running to tell their neighbors what they had seen that wonderful night in Bethlehem. Avoid singing with a heavy tone. There should be buoyancy in the tone and in the diction. The tempo is fast a mm140, but it works if you pianist can handle it. I have done it at mm132 on more than occasion for a piano player's sake. It still worked okay, but if you can manage 140,do it. By the way, every choir that I have done this piece with has enjoyed it thoroughly. It is fun to sing and to hear. Please send your comments, and questions. I will be happy to hear from you! String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1074907 Composed by Joshua A. Idio. 20th Century,Classical,Contest,Festival,Multicultural,Standards,World. Score and parts. 55 pages. Joshua A Idio #679162. Published by Joshua A Idio (A0.1074907). Composed by Joshua A. Idio. Chamber Music. String Quartet. This is a two-movement piece comprising of a prelude and an allegro. The entire piece is meant to convey a simple story of witnessing the change of different lifestyles, from the peaceful and simple rural life to the electrifying grandeur of urban city life. The prelude, signifying the rural atmosphere, begins with unsettling chords that feel seasonal and constantly moving. The different string melodies are as lovingly soothing as playing in the grassy fields and mountains. They are fun, pleasant, and whimsical, and they express the rather playful and tranquil setting of rural living. The beginning chords may feel unusually active, but it also adds to the color of this calming tranquility. Life couldn't be any better. In contrast to the fun and joyful theme of the prelude, the allegro embodies the absolute hustle and bustle of the big city. Explosive harmonies progress through the movement. Melodies from the prelude now intertwine with this new faster theme, playing more lively and vigorous. The mood has changed. Everything seems fast-paced and maybe overloading. But, maybe that's not a bad thing. A bit into the movement, as the hustle and bustle finally slow down, the essence of the prelude returns to calm the music. Homesickness mixed with overwhelming emotions is just as powerful of an expression as joy or anger. Filled with confidence and resolve, the music quickens back into its fast theme. The nature of intense focus, inspired by the urban surroundings, mixes with the joy and fun of the old ways. Everything now seems not just more familiar and comforting, but lively as well. As the music reaches its end, those unsettling chords from the prelude return to once again remind us that the rural lifestyle will always be a part of us. Maybe this city life won't be such a bad thing. We experience the best life when it comes with change. While I never lived in a rural community myself, I can empathize with the experience of people who have from their own stories and emotions. And when they move into the overwhelming cityscape, they sometimes either break down or build up. In the end, though, I can never really understand what it is like until I move into a rural community. But I know nothing will ever change how they grew up there, as the experiences always seem to follow them into the next chapter of their adventures. And it is because of that kind of beautiful resolve, did I nickname this Prelude and Allegro Urbanalia. When life meets change it opens up a whole new story.

Alto Voice,Bass Voice,Cello,Piano Accompaniment,Soprano voice,Tenor Voice,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1318802 Composed by Connie Boss. Arranged by Connie Boss. Christmas,Holiday. 122 pages. Connie Boss #907356. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1318802). Everyone knows how special the star was for the birth of Jesus. The star guided many along the way to find the manger that Mary, Joseph and the newborn baby, Jesus were at. This cantata reflects the importance of the star during that time. Most of the songs have lyrics about the star.  The cantata starts off with Mary finding out from the angel that God chose her to bear his son - Ave Maria was redone for this advent moment. It keeps to the melody and Ave Maria words are still part of the lyrics. Some of the lyrics have the English translation in the song, while other lyrics are new for this Christmas song. The next song O Little Town of Bethlehem is where Mary and Joseph have to travel to pay their taxes and where     Jesus is born. This is where the star shines down for all to see.  This is the traditional song, but I have added extra lyrics at the end of each original verse. Next, the shepherds seeing the star decide to travel to Bethlehem. Pachelbel Canon is so iconic, but I have added lyrics from While Shepherds watched their flocks by night, Away in a Manger, What Child is This and The First Noel. The choir parts bring rich harmonies to the piece. The Angels said leave your sheep and leave your lambs. Rise up Shepherd and Follow. Now we are at the manger. I composed the song - A Little Baby. He was born to save us all. . Still, Still, Still “Tis the Night of Our Savior’s Birth has added lyrics to each verse that ties in with the original lyrics. The title of this cantata is They Saw A Star - this is from the song I composed with the same title. It not only brings in the shepherds, but also the Three Wisemen. To close out this cantata, I have used the lyrics from We Three Kings and the melody of Scarborough Fair. This arrangement has an ST duet with SATB choir parts with ahhs that sound very mysterious. It also does include parts for strings if you are lucky enough to have violins and a cello. The strings parts are the same as the choir parts, so it is perfectly fine to do this with just a choir.  I hope you enjoy singing and listening to this cantata—Connie Boss.

Green Green Grass is a song by British singer-songwriter George Ezra. It was released on 22 April 2022, as the second single from Ezra's third studio album Gold Rush Kid. The song reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Ezra's seventh top ten song there and was nominated for the Brit Award for Song Of The Year at the 2023 Brit Awards. The song was inspired by a 2018 Christmas holiday trip to St. Lucia by Ezra and his friends.[2] About the lyrical background of the song, Ezra explained, there was a street party going on, with three different sound systems, people cooking in the street. I asked a woman what was going on and she told me it was a funeral – for three people. They were celebrating three lives! I thought: that is not how we do this at home. And it's really beautiful.

Instrumental Duet,Pedal Harp,Steel Pan - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1434595 Composed by Cameron Duncan. 21st Century,Chamber,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious. 30 pages. Cameron Duncan #1014719. Published by Cameron Duncan (A0.1434595). Provision is a duet for pedal harp and tenor steel drum. The piece is inspired by God's provision for my wife and I, always taking care of us in times of need. The steel pan is representative of us. Searching, filled with doubt and anxiety about the future, and jumping to conclusions. The harp is representative of God's provision. The pan learns to listen, emulate, and look more like the harp's material more and more over time, ultimately finding peace and assurance. The difficult situations never leave, but neither does hope. God has provided for our physical, financial, and emotional needs, to be sure, but he also provided His Son as Savior and Counselor to us in every moment of every day. This is provision beyond words, beyond comprehension, and well beyond what this piece can say. I truly hope you enjoy this piece and give glory back to God for his provision.

Small Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596601 Composed by Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional. Score and parts. 7 pages. Juan Maria Solare #6057663. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596601). Los ñoquis del veintinueve   – The Gnocchi of the Twenty-Ninth –   by Juan María Solare Audio: https://soundcloud.com/mihovilcevic/juan-maria-solare-los-noquis/s-bOICUjXTDyS Comments   The order of these 29 numbers is rigorously random, as is the election of the six sizes of the fonts (12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 picas).   In order to determinate both dimensions I used the program I-Ching by Andrew Culver (assistant to John Cage in the '80 and '90), a program that is distributed as shareware in internet (thanks).   The colour version follows the following criterion:   - (a) prime numbers (see green) - (b) multiples of 3 (red) - (c) all other numbers (blue)     ...if it ends up being good music then what matter the procedure involved? (David Cope, New Music Composition, p. 117)     About the expression los ñoquis del 29:   The Italian word gnocchi (gnocchi is plural of gnocco, which meaning is lump) is used in Spanish often as ñoqui or ñoquis.   In the Río de la Plata (Argentina and Uruguay) are traditionally eaten on the 29th of each month, the day before payday, when people has less money. This tradition is called los ñoquis del 29 - the gnocchi of the twenty-ninth.   There are naturally other versions. The most picturesque comes from a legend of the VIIIth century (or even IIIrd century). A young physician called Pantaleon (Panteleimon) lived in Nicosia (Cyprus), who after converting to Christianity, journeyed through the North of Italy. There he practiced miraculous healings due to which he was canonized. In a certain occasion, he asked some Venetian villagers for bread, and they invited him to share their poor table. Grateful, he announced them a year of excellent fishing and harvest. The prophecy was fulfilled. Saint Pantaleon was consecrated –along with Saint Mark– patron of Venice. That episode occurred on a 29th, for this reason that day is recalled with a simple food represented by gnocchi. The accompanying ritual of putting money below the dish represents the yearning of new gift.   Outside the culinary realm, certain Argentine and Uruguayan functionaries are dismissively called ñoquis, because they only go to work at the end of the month, to justify their salary or simply to cash in for a not fulfilled work. This meaning was spread since the 1970's.   Premiere: Luis Mihovilcevic, Saturday 25 October 2008, Centro Cultural Islas Malvinas, La Plata (Argentina). * JMS * DonSolare@gmail.com *https://soundcloud.com/mihovilcevic/juan-maria-solare-los-noquis/s-bOICUjXTDyS

Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBS163-S). 9 x 12 in inches.March of the Shadows is a Grade 1 1/2 work for second-year elementary band. As a veteran elementary band director,I am keenly aware of what students are able to accomplish at this level. March of the Shadows is a fun, slightlychallenging, and completely achievable work. It is a work that would be useful at the beginning of the school yearwhen it feels too summery to begin holiday music. March of the Shadows would be perfect for a Halloween orAutumn Concert.March of the Shadows begins with a whistle! It calls the show by announcing each new section of the piece. (Astudy of form.) It even reacts to a momentary modulation. The whistle part has all sorts of fun staging potential, including having it played by the director! The initial whistle is followed by a percussion introduction which sets thebeat. Seven percussion parts, three of them optional, have been included so that everyone in a large percussionsection will be kept engaged and out of trouble! The body of the work includes two alternating themes, one dark andshadowy in minor, the other bright, heroic and slightly syncopated in major. Every part gets the melody at somepoint, even the low brass and woodwinds! Ranges are all standard for early second-year band players, i.e. clarinetsdo not go over the break, trumpets do not go higher than middle line B, the snare drum part is sprinkled with basicrudiments such as flams and paradiddles. Even the horn gets a crack at the tune! Every part is fun, interesting andeducational.
