String Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.837263 Composed by Garth M. Williams. Folk,Standards. Score and parts. 16 pages. Garth M. Williams (Socan) #3096753. Published by Garth M. Williams (Socan) (A0.837263). A Winter's Lament was written during our western Canada winter of 2015.  Although it tends to be a hospitable climate, it also tends, at times to be very grey and wet during the winter months.  With that in mind, I wrote this fiddle ballad which records, in  the opening, my thoughts about the bright, warm spring months to come.  The middle section tends to be somewhat melancholic about the greyness of our winter, but it, in turn, is followed by a recap of what we can look forward to when winter actually departs and spring sunshine returns.  This orchestral composition gives the violins, violas and celli and opportunity to express the melody.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1220588 Composed by Jerry Ross and Richard Adler. Arranged by John Fries. 20th Century,Broadway,Jazz,Latin,Musical/Show,Standards. Score. 2 pages. John Fries #816925. Published by John Fries (A0.1220588). Please contact me by email at jfries@ptd.net to make a special request or to find out all that I have to offer and to express your comments or concerns. Thanks, John.  Whatever Lola Wants is a popular song, sometimes rendered as Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets.  The music and words were written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross for the 1955 musical play Damn Yankees.  The song is sung to Joe Hardy by Lola, the Devil's assistant, a part originated by Gwen Verdon, who reprised the role in the film.  The saying was inspired by Lola Montez, an Irish-born Spanish dancer and mistress of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, who later became a San Francisco Gold Rush vamp.  Very interesting, to say the least!

Easy Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1110129 Composed by Alex Lewis. Classical,Contemporary. Score. 3 pages. Houston-Piano Studio #712463. Published by Houston-Piano Studio (A0.1110129). This next part is copy and pasted from my blog: My inspiration for The pianist's Wind Chimes came mainly from Philip Glass. The Philip Glass Etudes are kind of short, but I've been listening to them recently. They are somewhat profound even though they are brief and not that advanced. Of course a piece does not have to be long or hard to be profound. The Minimalist style is a great way for beginner and intermediate piano students to sound excellent at piano recitals. I usually don't think about the title of a piece first. The title came to me as I was working on it. Funnily enough, the title might be the worst part of this piece. I only used the name The Pianist's Wind Chimes because I thought it was a cool name (ha ha ha!). In the middle of The Pianist's Wind Chimes, there is a reference to Beethoven's Fur Elise. The famous first two measures of Fur Elise were part of my inspiration. The notes are sort of different. I didn't want to copy Fur Elise completely. But I did want to make the reference obvious enough. I do wander how many people will recognize the reference. I hope most of them will. Small Ensemble Cello,Piano,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.954534 Composed by Johnathan Couch, Op. 3. 20th Century,Children,Contemporary. Score and parts. 29 pages. Johnathan Couch #3448263. Published by Johnathan Couch (A0.954534). One of the most unique works of Johnathan Couch's Opus 3, Animal Sketches, Volume I combines musical depictions of four diverse organisms into one entertaining program piece for piano quintet.1.) Blue Whale -  Hear the yearning song of the earth's largest animal, portrayed beautifully by the cello, as the upper strings and piano provide a soft, leisurely, ocean-like background.2.) Penguins - Everyone loves penguins. This cute and cheerful movement captures the playful fun side of penguins which we all know and love. Beginning with a good-natured swing and transitioning into a marshal little march, audiences will go crazy for this happy little piece.                                                                                                                                      3.) Venus Fly Trap (and an Unfortunate Insect) - The title says it all! With Violin I representing the doomed insect, the rest of the instruments take on the role of Venus Fly Trap, creating a calm, peaceful atmosphere which lures the bug into the plants life-ending jaws. The final seconds of this movement are a climactic escalation of harmony and rhythm which depict the last fleeting moments of the insect's life as the Venus Fly Trap consumes it.4.) Spiders - Not just one spider: lots of them! The music of this movement (composed in a somewhat-classical style) is sure to leave the audience with the sensation of thousands of little spiders crawling all over! This is a great movement, using lots of chromatic themes and spider-sounding trills.

Easy Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.999485 Composed by Alex Lewis. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score. 3 pages. Alex Lewis #6261165. Published by Alex Lewis (A0.999485). The Pianist's Wind Chimes is a great original composition for piano students after their first year. It's in 5/8 time, which is not too common for students of this caliber to encounter. Except for a few measures in the middle of the piece, the meter never changes. This piece is also three pages long. That makes it somewhat longer than a typical beginner composition. Since it's a full three pages, The Pianist's Wind Chimes is great to perform at a student recital. You can listen to the YouTube video to find out how long it is. The video is a little over two minutes and thirty seconds long. I only decided on the name The Pianist's Wind Chimes because I thought it would be a cool name (ha ha!). .

A Clarinet,Bassoon,Double Bass,Flute,Oboe/English Horn,Percussion,Timpani,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1300657 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Ray Thompson. 20th Century,Chamber. 27 pages. RayThompsonMusic #890400. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1300657). Arranged double wind quintet/bass and optional percussion. Background info:Parade is a ballet choreographed by Leonide Massine, with music by Erik Satie and a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau. The ballet was composed in 1916–17 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet. The ballet was remarkable for several reasons. It was the first collaboration between Satie and Picasso, and also the first time either of them had worked on a ballet, thus making it the first time either collaborated with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes. The plot of Parade incorporated and was inspired by popular entertainments of the period, such as Parisian music-halls and American silent-films.Much of the settings used in Parade's plot occurred outside of the formal Parisian theater, depicting the streets of Paris. The plot reproduces various elements of everyday life such as the music hall and fairground. Before Parade, the use of popular entertainment materials was considered unsuitable for the elite world of the ballet. The plot of Parade composed by Cocteau includes the failed attempt of a troupe of performers to attract audience members to view their show. Some of Picasso's Cubist costumes were in solid cardboard, allowing the dancers only a minimum of movement. The score contained several noise-making instruments (typewriter, foghorn, an assortment of bottles, pistol, and so on), which had been added by Cocteau (somewhat to the dismay of Satie). It is supposedthat such additions by Cocteau showed his eagerness to create a succès de scandale, comparable to that of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps which had been premiered by the Ballets Russes some years before, and caused no less scandal.Although Parade was quite revolutionary, bringing common street entertainments to the elite, being scorned by audiences and being praised by critics, nonetheless many years later Stravinsky could still pride himself in never having been topped in the matter of succès de scandale. The ragtime contained in Parade would later be adapted for piano solo and attained considerable success as a separate piano piece. The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showThe premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche.Prestidigitateur chinois (Chinese Conjuror) is no 1 in the ballet, and includes some of the odd percussion : sirens in addition to normal orchestral perc. The piece can be performed without percussion....but the percussion gives it an extra something!!

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1104138 Composed by H.W. Petrie. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. 19th Century,Children,Comedy,Pop,Wedding. 28 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #707372. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1104138).       Howard W. Petrie was a composer of popular music active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. One of his most popular songs was “I Don’t Want to Play in Your Yard,†published early in his career, 1894. The song underwent a revival in the mid-1950s when Peggy Lee recorded it. It also figured prominently in the popular 1981 film Reds. Lyrics are credited to Philip Wingate, and his first verse sets up the story. Two little girls were next-door neighbors and best of friends. One day, however, a quarrel arose and “hot tears were shared.†One announced, “You can’t play in our yard.†The reply of the other forms the familiar chorus: I don't want to play in your yard, I don't like you any more, You'll be sorry when you see me sliding down our cellar door, You can't holler down our rain-barrel, you can't climb our apple tree, I don't want to play in your yard, if you won't be good to me.       The second verse tells of the reconciliation. The two girls miss each other. They kiss and make up and remain friends “all thro’ life.†But “in sweet dreams of childhood†we still remember the controversy of the yard.       This version features the group's Trumpets somewhat taking the roles of the two little girls. It retains the F major key in which it was written, changes tempo four times (in addition to a few rallentando/a tempo instructions) and includes two short, rather simple cadenzas, one for each Trumpet. It starts (rather incongruously!) with the eight 4/4 measures of “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary†then transitions to ¾ for the remainder of the piece.       Trumpets predominate with melody and lead. However Horn and Trombone do occasionally come to the fore to provide introductions, call-and-response figures and recapitulations. Both Trumpets play a few notes above their staff—G# and A—but for the most part, all instruments perform within their normal playing range. Performance time is about three and a half minutes to perform.       Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes, 34 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.).

Published by Josiah Yowell (A0.891224). This is a very unique and beautiful piano song from the film The Girl in the Spider's Web. There are recommended finger numbers and musical directions to help the performer as much as possible. The second page can be somewhat challenging due to the fast-paced left hand. I didn't add finger numbers for this section, so that it gives you room to write ones in that work best for you!As an arranger/transcriber, I strive to make my arrangements/sheets as high-quality and performer-friendly as possible. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027799 Composed by Heather Gilligan. Contemporary. Octavo. 6 pages. World Projects Corporation #2989151. Published by World Projects Corporation (A0.1027799). From the composer...The text for I'll See You in the Morning was taken from a children's book of the same name. The book, by Mike Jolley, evokes a calm, reassuring atmosphere with its warm illustrations of the moon and stars, snuggling animals, and sleeping children. I wanted to capture the same aura through the use of lush, comforting harmonies and a relaxed tempo. I also wanted to highlight the sense of deep love that a parent feels for a child, as this text does. The mother of a two-year-old myself, these feelings are somewhat self-referential.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774753 Composed by Peter Allen. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Contemporary. Octavo. 12 pages. Sandra Milliken #5302929. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774753). I Still Call Australia Home was written, first performed and recorded by Peter Allen in 1980. In that year the song peaked on the Australian Singles Chart at number 72. But whilst its initial impact was somewhat less than stellar, it has gone on to become one of those songs that is part of the national psyche and is well-known by most Australians. In I still Call Australia Home Peter Allen wrote of his longing, no matter where in the World he might travel, to always return home to Australia, where he could be near his family and friends once again. The song is now regarded as a heart-warming expression of  Australian patriotism and nostalgia for home. Its adoption by Qantas in the mid 1990s as the centrepiece of a long-running advertising campaign exposed a new generation of Australians to the song and greatly boosted its popularity. The Qantas campaign became one of the top Australian television campaigns of all time. It has linked together Australians living at home with those travelling or living overseas. Beginning with a number of well-known Australian musicians, the campaign went on to become associated with the Australian Girls Choir, the National Boys Choir and the Gondwana National Indigenous Children’s Choir. The song has featured in television programs, benefit concerts, sporting event ceremonies, and was included in the musical, The Boy From Oz, which starred Todd McKenney as Peter Allen in the Australian production and Hugh Jackman in the title role when the musical transferred to Broadway. This arrangement, with piano accompaniment, is available in SATB, SSA, SAB and 2-Part voicings.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1004946 Composed by Rob Birdwell. Contemporary,Film/TV,Pop,World. Score and parts. 57 pages. Birdwell Music LLC #4634031. Published by Birdwell Music LLC (A0.1004946). Full symphonic underscore for a poem dedicated to all Dogs in the world. It's a sentimental offering, but one intended to raise awareness of the need to support organizations that shelter and care for animals in order to find them homes where they can live long, happy and healthy lives. The musical underscore starts off dramatic but soon becomes more atmospheric to underscore the poem.  The poem is timed somewhat to the music, however, each reader will offer their own interpretation and cadence to fit within the overall fabric of the music. The score is particularly suited for professional orchestras especially since it calls for two harpists and a full compliment of strings, winds, and brass, and a variety of interesting percussion.  Everything about the score is intended to underscore the poem reader, so dynamics are generally soft and the score will work and sound great even with orchestras lacking some of the instrumentation.Portions of all proceeds from sales of this score will be donated to charities supporting the care of Dogs, Cats, and other animals and it is the composer's/poet's wish that live performances will make the most of the symphonic hall setting to encourage others to donate generously to organizations that promote animal well-being.
