Oboe Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1273278 By Billie Eilish. By Billie Eilish O'Connell and Finneas O'Connell. Arranged by Milanov. Film/TV,Singer/Songwriter. Individual part. 3 pages. Milanov #865428. Published by Milanov (A0.1273278). What Was I Made For? From Barbie by Billie Eilish for oboe. Easy intermediate. Chords. What Was I Made For from Barbie by Billie Eilish is a melancholic ballad about feeling lost and uncertain about one's identity. The lyrics explore themes of existentialism, anxiety, and depression. The song's production is sparse and atmospheric, with Eilish's vocals taking center stage. The overall effect is a haunting and introspective track that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt lost or alone. The song ends with a sense of resignation, as Eilish sings, I guess I'll just keep on floating. However, the song's message is ultimately one of hope, as it suggests that even in the midst of uncertainty, there is still beauty to be found.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.985649 Composed by Brian Holloway. Contemporary. Octavo. 10 pages. Brian Joseph Holloway #6258579. Published by Brian Joseph Holloway (A0.985649). A mornings quill speaks of transition into new unexplored opportunities that we can only have afforded through trial of experience.  This trial of experience usually goes against our expectations of what we thought would be our ideal.  Even when we achieve our ideal we find that there is trial involved.  Nature is used to reflect the purity of reality without blurring the pure intent of the piece with the frailty of humanity.  Morning represents the newness of transition.  The quill represents the creativity of the transition and exciting new possibilities.  Sometimes we see this morning  with eyes of too much expectation, without full understanding, there is always a secret that this portrait of creation holds.  Our expectations often make the portrait dull because we don’t anticipate or appreciate what makes life beautiful.  But we have a choice to see the picture for what it is and it is still beautiful amidst the imperfect brush strokes of a mornings quill.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942691 By Louis Armstrong With Kenny G. By Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. Arranged by Adam White. Jazz. Score and parts. 9 pages. Adam Michael White #6525825. Published by Adam Michael White (A0.942691). Here is my updated arrangement of Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World for string quartet. After having the privilege of getting a string quartet to play the previous version for me, I came to realize that I did not like it and removed it from this website until I could write a better arrangement. Of the changes that I made, I split up the melody amongst the whole quartet instead of just giving it to the cello, and I changed various voicings, registers, and accompanying rhythms to make it more involved and enjoyable for the performers. However, I would still rate this arrangement for intermediate performers at the very least since there are passages in most of the parts that have the performers playing in the third position. The format of the download is one pdf consisting of the score and parts. I hope you enjoy this arrangement, and happy playing!

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.1030824 Composed by Neal Endicott. Contemporary. Score and parts. 35 pages. Neal Endicott Music #1249. Published by Neal Endicott Music (A0.1030824). This piece was originally titled Istn’t it Enough, drawing inspiration from the famous passage from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I changed the wording slightly to be more encompassing of different modes of perception (thought is a broader concept than sight and the word think created better melodic material than the word see, using the method described below) I provided an alternate title to more clearly convey the meaning behind the piece. That is; that the only church that I will ever need is the one I find in musical expression and in the beauty of the natural world. Though Adams’ meaning was meant to convey the primary reasoning for his atheism-a reason that I use as well-I also see it as an admonishment of our need for constant stimulation. Adams felt-and I feel-that people need to take the time to slow down and enjoy life: we need to enjoy the beauty of the garden (both literally and metaphorically). That, quite simply, is what this piece is (or at least what it is to me). Among the compositional techniques that I used in this piece is one that I have been using quite a lot. I call it crypto-serialism. The basic concept is that I will take a piece of text (the Douglas Adams quote, in this case) and convert each letter to a number between 0 and 11 and then convert those numbers to musical pitches, where 0 = C, 1 = C#, etc. The technique offers me a way to draw actual musical ideas from the text itself, which I see as a means of creating a deeper connection to the text. The piece is dedicated to the Four Horsemen of the Non-Apocolypse: Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, and Daniel Dennett.

Oboe Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018926 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 4 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6072953. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018926). Fugue: Wear Pearls and Smile is, on the outset, a fast, rambunctious adventure for many voices playing at the same time. It was conceived as a pairing for the equally vivacious second symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven–his 250th birthday is this year–but can stand on its own as one of my hardest, most challenging works to cook up.This piece is dedicated to those forced to appear positive when internally they’re falling apart. The title is inspired by a quote that’s been with me for a while, Why is it that men can be bastards and women must wear pearls and smile? by Lynn Hecht Schafren, the celebrated American jurist famous for campaigning for gender equity in courts. I’m taking the quote out of its initial context, but the power of that quote, for me, exemplifies how hard it is to maintain a sense of emotional decorum and dignity when you’re authentically a hot mess. And what’s more of a musical hot mess than a fugue? There are two realities to this piece. I’ll quote Dmitri Shostakovich, from his autobiography: The rejoicing is forced, created under threat, […] It’s as if someone were beating you with a stick and saying, ‘Your business is rejoicing, your business is rejoicing,’ and you rise, shaky, and go marching off, muttering ‘Our business is rejoicing, our business is rejoicing.’ On the one hand, it is insincere happiness, cloying perhaps. But the other truth, I’ll quote Oscar Hammerstein II, from The King and I: While shivering in my shoes / I strike a careless pose / And whistle a happy tune / And no one ever knows, / I'm afraid. I forced myself, against all impulses of my current being, to forge happiness. This piece, with its origin being a mental puzzle (fugues are puzzles), it became a construct where I could lift myself up and regain a sense of purpose. Therefore, it is invented–out of a literal need to survive–pure, genuine happiness.Future Performances: If you are interested in performing this work, please e-mail me.ABOUT THE COMPOSER: Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator.
