Harpsichord,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488837 Composed by Joseph Martin Kraus. Arranged by Bertil van Boer. Classical. 27 pages. Artaria Editions #1065691. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1488837). Artaria Editions AE432Joseph Martin Kraus was one of the most gifted and unusual composers of the 18th century, whose talent for thematic development, colourful orchestration and theatrical flair caused Haydn to proclaim him one of only two 'geniuses' he knew (Mozart being the other one). Although Kraus's focus as a composer was mainly upon works written for the stage, he had occasion and opportunity to write a variety of works for chamber setting, including four sonatas for violin and fortepiano, and this work in D minor, was written in 1777 expressly for violin and clavicembalo, representing a different sort of piece than the more common duo sonata. It is not known for whom the work was written, but the extensive virtuosity makes it likely that it was intended either for Kraus himself or his brother Franz (1760-1790), an exceptional talent on the violin. The two-movement format is similar to Kraus's early string quartets (VB 178; Artaria Editions AE418), though in this case, the extensive sonata form first movement is followed by a through-composed one consisting of a slow pastorale (replete with bass drone in the violin) and an exotic faster section that includes material from the first movement. What makes this work interesting is the use of scordatura; the G string is to be tuned down to F, which makes it more useful from a harmonic standpoint in that the note can be used in the tonic, relative major, and all dominant-subdominant keys. The Basso part is completely figured—for this edition it has been realized by the editor - but given that Kraus specifically mentions only the keyboard instrument (clavicembalo), it is unlikely that it was performed as a continuo, i.e. with additional violoncello/contrabass, but rather was intended for harpsichord alone.Allan Badley.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1489003 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Will Corbin. Pop. 19 pages. Will Corbin #1065852. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1489003). This is perhaps the best known -- or at least most covered -- of the Beatles' songs. It appeared in their 1965 album Help! It has since been covered more than 2,000 times; it holds the Guinness record for history's most recorded song. It topped charts around the world when it hit the record stores. Here's a snippet from Wikipedia to give you an idea of how revered it is: 'Yesterday' was voted the best song of the 20th century in a 1999 BBC Radio 2 poll of music experts and listeners and was also voted the No. 1 pop song of all time by MTV and Rolling Stone magazine the following year. In 1997, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Broadcast Music Incorporated asserts that it was performed over seven million times in the 20th century. With that in mind, this arrangement reflects a reasonably straight original treatment, with tango, swing and waltz snippets thrown in to show just what kind of damage a gazillion covers can do.If you need other instrumentation, I'm happy to help. Published by Han-Ki Kim (A0.511812). Symphony No.1 “KangKangSullae†Symphony No. 1 has the name “KangKangSullaeâ€, and the composer is like any other korean composer. “What does it mean to be Korean?†With the question, he is trying to compose such works. A Korean work means a work that contains Korean emotions and spirit, and the melody of “KangKangSullae†has been handed down through a long history to this day, so it can be said that it is a keepsake containing the soul of Korea. With this in mind, the theme of “KangKangSullae†was cited in the 4th movement, and it was named as a representative name for the Symphony as an element that forms the basic character of this movement. For reference, the origin of “KangKangSullae†is from women's circular dance. It was because they valued the relationship between each other. They held hands, sang and danced, and it was a representative event to commemorate the full moon and the harvest. The first movement is in 6/8 time, and two contrasting themes, masculine and feminine, appear in normal sonata form. The second movement crosses the natural harmonics of the violin and the normal playing method in 4/4 time, expressing oriental excellence and emotion. The third movement is composed in a short ABA form with a humorous lightness and weight in 3/8 time. The fourth movement quoted the theme of “Ganggangsullae†in 8/12 time, and was composed in the form of variations that change with various personalities, sometimes majestic, sometimes sobbing, calmly, etc.Attached Music file is only 1st. movement, it's just for a reference.

The tune is believed to have originated in the early 18th century and was likely composed by a Scottish fiddler. It was first published in the late 18th century in the Scots Musical Museum, a collection of Scottish songs and tunes compiled by James Johnson. The title Miss Stewart of Garth refers to a woman named Anne Stewart, who was the daughter of John Stewart, the laird of Garth. The Garth estate was located in Perthshire, Scotland, and was known for its picturesque beauty and its association with the Jacobite cause.During the 18th century, the Jacobites were a political movement in Scotland that sought to restore the Stuart dynasty to the throne of Great Britain. Many Highlanders supported the Jacobite cause, and the Garth estate was known to be sympathetic to their efforts. It's possible that Miss Stewart of Garth was composed as a tribute to Anne Stewart or as a way of expressing support for the Jacobite cause. The tune has a melancholy and wistful quality that has made it a favorite among Scottish musicians and dancers for centuries.Over the years, Miss Stewart of Garth has been played in many different contexts, from traditional Highland gatherings to modern concerts and recordings. Its enduring popularity is a testament to the beauty and power of Scottish music, and it remains a beloved part of Scotland's cultural heritage to this day.

Brass Quintet Trombone,Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1249437 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Christian,Easter,Historic. 31 pages. Regis Bookshar #841731. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1249437). Three selections based on Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bonds) (from Cantata No.   4, BMV   4) - Johann Sebastian Bach - Brass Quintet (2 Trps, 3 Trbs) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, Christ lag in Todesbanden (also spelled Todes banden) (Christ lay in death's bonds) is a cantata for Easter written by Johann Sebastian Banch and is his earliest surviving Church Cantata. It was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which bothe the text and music are based on a hymn. In this instance, the source was Martin Luther's hymn of the same name which became a main Easter hymn in German Lutheranism.Regis Bookshar has transcribed and arranged three selections based on this hymn tune, two from Bach's Cantata No.   4, BMV   4, and also his Chorale Prelude, BMV 625. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement is more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No.   4, a straightforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. For the final selection, Regis has placed the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged, which Bach had placed in the middle of his Cantata No.   4.This arrangement is for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets and 3 Trombones. Included are a score and a complete set of part (31 pages).I hope you will enjoy playing these selections and please search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. There are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. I think you will be pleased by what you may find.

Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813474 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 30 pages. Regis Bookshar #6264891. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813474). Canon in D (Pachelbel) (D) (Trumpet Quintet) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon in D, is perhaps the most famous canon ever written and has been one of my favorite compositions to arrange. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon in D, was originally written in the key of D Major and was scored for three violins arranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo which repeats the same harmonic progression throughout the entire piece. The common musical term for this is ostinato or ground bass. Regis Bookshar has now arranged this music for a Trumpet Quintet. Three Trumpets play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the other two Trumpets. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students but could also be performed by professional performers. It is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library that are becoming available for the first time. It is perfect for concerts and church services, especially for Weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (30 pages). This version is written in the key of D Major, but, if you prefer, another version, written in the key of Bb Major, to make it a little easier for some younger performers, is also available. Other versions of Pachelbel's Canon in D have also been arranged by Regis Bookshar and are available for a wide variety of instrumental Quintets and Octets, in both the keys of D Major and Bb Major. I think that String players would probably prefer to play the versions in the key of D Major while the Brass and Woodwind musicians might prefer to play the Bb Major versions. I hope you take the time to compare the different versions to find the right version for you. To help you decide which version, or versions, you may want to choose, I have included several musical samples for you to listen to and to hear what these arrangements may sound like and so that you may compare the various arrangements. Also, just to let you know, the Octets written in the key of Bb Major have full-length recordings while the Octets in D Major and all Quintets have only the first 25 measures, or so, available to hear. Please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar which are also available. There are quite a few other arrangements in a variety of styles and I'm certain you will find something else which might interest you as well. Please keep checking because I plan to continue to add new arrangements as often as I can. I'm certain that this exciting arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon in D will be a challenge to some performers but will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.CBW227-S). 9 x 12 inches.Stronger……..Every Day is actually the motto of the rehabilitation center I attend twice a week for physical therapy. Their philosophy is simple: it's not the amount of progress you make each day, it's the total sum of all the small steps taken. Setting goals and perseverance is what is important. The idea is actually universal: Take things one day at a time, stay consistent and you will meet your goals. It applies perfectly to playing a musical instrument. You practice each day, repeat exercises until they are mastered, and then move forward. This piece is built upon a repeated eight-bar motif. In between these motifs are symphonic excursions, but always returning to the original motif. This represents the concept of practicing through repetition. The excursions are the new goals. Multiple syncopation and dynamics keep the music interesting for both the player and listener.

The common musical term for this is ostinato or ground bass. Regis Bookshar has now arranged this music for a Trumpet Octet. Three Trumpets play the melody in canon while the ostinato accompaniment is played by the other five instruments. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (36 pages). This version is written in the key of D Major, as is the original version, but, if you prefer, another version, written in the key of Bb Major, to make it a little easier for some younger performers, is also available.
