Large Ensemble Clarinet,Flute,Harp,Piano Accompaniment,Vibraphone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1022804 Composed by Yoonjee Kim. Contemporary,World. Score and parts. 17 pages. Yoonjee Kim #3417613. Published by Yoonjee Kim (A0.1022804). Hyang refers the incense that is particularly used in the house of mourning in Korean culture. When one goes to offer one’s condolences to the family in mourning, the first thing you can sense (smell) is the incense, ‘Hyang’. Personally, this reminisces my grandfather’s death when I was young. The sunk atmosphere, gloomy faces, soft whispers, occasional agitations, sobs, angry cries, and a complete silence...: these are the images that occupied the six year-old girl’s mind who did not understand the meaning and grief of the death at that time. Focusing on the sound color, the piece expresses the images that I captured from the mourning house through the various timbre create by different gestures with different instruments. Consequently, three senses are conceptually represented in this music: aural(sound), visual(color), and olfactory(incense).

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1000661 Composed by Nicholas Yandell. Contemporary,Jazz. Score. 6 pages. Nicholas Yandell Music #5953909. Published by Nicholas Yandell Music (A0.1000661). Premiered June 16, 2018 at the Cascadia Composers In Good Hands student piano concert in Portland, OR.Composed in 2006 (revised 2018).Level: Intermediate level; very popular with high school students; been played at Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) competitions by a high school student, as well as used as part of a junior piano recital at college. Composition notes: This is a carefree, early jazz-influenced composition, with flexible tempos and dynamics. Great for students who are interested in studying jazz harmony, since it's based on common jazz chord progressions, also for fans George Gershwin's Three Preludes. Bleecker Street gained its name in part from where I was when I came up with the ostinato bass part that begins and is played throughout the composition. This title also reflects my impression of the bustling atmosphere one enters when walking on this street in Greenwich Village in New York City.Performing Rights Organization: ASCAPComposer's website: https://www.nicholasyandell.com

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1305353 Composed by John W. Fisher. Christian,Contemporary,Instructional,Praise & Worship,Religious. Score. 5 pages. John Fisher #894794. Published by John Fisher (A0.1305353). This sermon song is based on a sermon delivered by Rev. Roger Peterson at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers Florida on August 13, 2023 based on the text of Psalm 19: 1-14.. It actually has the lyric of Psalm 19;14 directly embeded in it.  Rev. Peterson projected real images of a telescope and a microscope on the front of the church. They are referenced in the song.  The tune has an interesting history.  When I was a middle school teacher back in the '80's, our assitant pricipal told the first assembly there were just a few rules to follow to not be in trouble.  He said, If you're where you'r supposed to be; and it's when you're supposed to be there; and you're doing what you're supposed to do; you're OK, tha's all you need to know.    I set that to music and our middle school chorus sang it in the spring concert.   ( This can really be a guide for all parents and teachers ! )  It became the tune for this 2023 sermon song.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.597574 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Flavio Regis Cunha. Contemporary. Octavo. 10 pages. Flavio Regis Cunha #6562161. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.597574). This is a BlackBird arrangement for SATB choir with piano accompaniment.  If you're a fan of the English band, we're sure you and your choir will like it.I had been doing poetry readings. I had been doing some in the last year or so because I've got a poetry book out called Blackbird Singing, and when I would read Blackbird, I would always try and think of some explanation to tell the people, 'cause there's not a lot you can do except just read the poem, you know, you read 10 poems that takes about 10 minutes, almost. It's like, you've got to, just, do a bit more than that. So, I was doing explanations, and I actually just remembered why I'd written Blackbird, you know, that I'd been, I was in Scotland playing on my guitar, and I remembered this whole idea of you were only waiting for this moment to arise was about, you know, the black people's struggle in the southern states, and I was using the symbolism of a blackbird. It's not really about a blackbird whose wings are broken, you know, it's a bit more symbolic. - Paul McCartney, Interview with KCRW's Chris Douridas, May 25, 2002 episode of New Ground (17:50 - 19:00)

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.973026 Composed by Francis Kayali. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score. 26 pages. Francis Kayali #5718759. Published by Francis Kayali (A0.973026). Composed between January and March 2003, the Suite for Piano was written for a recital by pianist Qi Liu (1976-2017), at Stony Brook University, in March of 2003.The opening of the first movement evokes bells, not unlike those in Rachmaninoff’s Russian Easter (the finale of his First Suite for Two Pianos). This is contrasted with a short and murky rising gesture. The middle section incorporates pianistic patterns (some reminiscent of Debussy), a yearning Iberian melody, and a barely-recognizable snippet of Chopin used for a climax. The murky gesture eventually returns, introducing a triumphant statement of the opening bells.Early on, I had decided the piece should include references to the other pieces on the recital’s program: Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 18 (op. 31, No. 3) and Brahms’s F minor Sonata (op. 5). As soon as I had word from Qi that she was going to play the Beethoven, I immediately wanted to hear it. I wasn’t familiar with the piece, and since I didn’t have a score or a recording of it at home, I decided to download it in MIDI format from the internet. Unbeknownst to me, the computer’s rendition transformed the lively second movement scherzo into a slow-moving hymn which reminded me of the Ode to Joy. I was quite surprised the next morning when I went to the music library and listened to a recording played by a human. Nonetheless, I was drawn to the melody, and I found the slow effect interesting, so I decided to base my middle movement (the slow movement) around the theme of Beethoven’s scherzo, making it the hidden theme for a short set of variations. The end of the movement also contains less direct references to the music of Brahms (very short allusions to the Sonata and to the Variations on a Theme by Haydn). The last movement explores fast and light fingerwork, in a sort of toccata or capriccio, providing a flashy ending to the piece. As in the first movement, the form is A-B-A. Before the return of the first section, a little dance evokes the opening of the piece. (The murky gesture from the first movement also finds its way into this last movement). Each of the three movements experiments at one point with using the sustain pedal in order to create a wash of sound. This effect is used most prominently in the second movement.Movement I: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-NKcs076UIMovement II: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSxkOcdlpiYMovement III: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CntmWYdOA9Y

Thomas Oboe Lee #50815. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869304). Program notes. I met Lila Brown a year ago when she and members of the Boston Conservatory faculty performed my Octet in D, opus 144 (2012) at Seully Hall. Lila told me she had a summer festival in Salem, NY, and wondered if I would like to write a piece for her. I said sure. Just as in Hollywood, you never say no. At first Lila asked me if I would like to write a companion piece for Anton Webern’s Saxophone Quartet. I said sure!!! One thing led another and somehow I ended up agreeing to write a piano quintet for her. In the meanwhile Lila contacted Delores Stevens, artistic director of the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber Music Festival, and asked her if she would also premiere the work at her festival. Delores did a little research on me and my music online and she said yes. So, here we are. Siamo d’accordo. I wrote my first piano quintet in 1988 for the Apple Hill Chamber Players. That was not the usual quintet of a piano and string quartet. The Schubert Trout quintet was my model: piano, violin, viola, cello and double bass. I titled that work, Piano Quintet … apple strudel (1988). At that time I was a huge fan of the Entenmann’s Apple Strudel. I imagined the piano being encased/surrounded by the four string instruments. My first real piano quintet was written for the Formosa Quartet and pianist Tammy Lum. They premiered the work at Nyack College during the spring of 1988. My current piano quintet (no. 2) is titled Pq2 … (2014). It is a work in five movements. I. Moderato … Trio II. Adagio … III. Tsiaj 1 … Allegro IV. Tsiaj 2 … Prestissimo! V. Adagio What’s tsiaj? Score. 20 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #3070435. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818201). Be With Me Today - original song by Stephen R Dalrymple (Worship Team Edition) CCLI Song # 7142179 music © 2005 (copyright registered in 'Sacred Songs 2000-2005’ collection) recording ℗ 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple presentation © 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple sequenced by the composer based on Colossians 1:26-27 and Galatians 5:23-23 ♫ I was driving to school to begin a new job teaching in a public school in a new town. I was praying to be aware of God’s presence as I began my day. As I meditated on God’s presence, the words of this song began to come to mind. I pulled to the side of the road, found an old envelop, drew a staff and began writing. ♫ We are told the heavens cannot contain God; God is spirit; and there is nowhere we can go to escape His presence. Thus, every inhabitant on earth is continually within God’s physical presence. On the other hand, we are urged to ‘come into His presence.’ Also, Christ’s presence is continuously available to us through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Experiencing the presence of God is an act of the will, an act of faith. Remembering and experiencing His presence is life changing for everyday life. We are in His presence at work and school, at the market and while we are driving, in sorrow and in pleasure, in danger and in peace. ♫ I think of God’s presence when I lap swim. I cannot float in the air, but I can float in water. Just as the water of the swimming pool surrounds me and holds me afloat, so God’s presence is constantly surrounding and supporting me every moment of every day. ♫ This .pdf file includes 1) labeled copies for up to 7 printed copies of the lead sheet for worship team use, 2) vocal line with piano accompaniment, 3) lead sheet for 10 inch tablet, and vocal line with piano for 10 inch tablet. O, can I watch with God’s peace, knowing so clearly His care will increase?Like faithful Mary who nurtured her Son,can I so trust with my own little one? When I know God’s care, I’ll remember Christ’s love so rare.My little son, with these scars he will keep, shows a humility I seek.O, as I struggle to be just like him,I can feel God’s peace from within. To suffer, my son . . . Choral Choir,Choral (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1389486 By Leonard Cohen. By Leonard Cohen. Arranged by Justin Matthew Starr. Contemporary,Pop,Rock,Standards. 16 pages. J M Starr Music #973074. Published by J M Starr Music (A0.1389486). “Hallelujah†was originally released by Canadian singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen in 1984 on his album Various Positions. This composition, however, is one of the few in history that may be more well-known due to covers of the song than the original version. In 1991, John Cale did a cover of the song that removed the synthesizers, gospel choir, full band, and low, borderline-talking bass voice from Cohen’s original; and replaced it all with a bare-bones piano and tenor voice. It is not difficult to argue that this arrangement of the composition became the definitive version that all future covers would be based on: from Jeff Buckley’s stripped-down guitar and voice 1994 version, to Rufus Wainright’s piano and voice 2001 cover for the soundtrack to the motion picture Shrek, to k.d. lang, the a cappella group Pentatonix, and many, many more. When I first arranged this song in 2010 for my 8th grade SAB choir, I did not know the John Cale version existed; rather, I started by transcribing the Rufus Wainright recording and then made it my own from there. My arrangement is melodically akin to the Wainright, but I added harmonies in various places throughout. Lyric selection was also a choice I had to me, as each version of the song contains a different number of verses. Cohen’s 1984 original had four, and then in 1988 he sang a live version with seven (supposedly he drafted over 80 different verses!). I decided to go with five. This allowed me to structure the song in a way that got feature and give the melody to: a Soloist(s) (verse 1), the Baritones (verse 2), the Altos (verse 3), the Sopranos (verse 4) and then the entire choir (verse 5). Over the years that I have performed this with my students, I couldn’t help myself from rocking out with little bluesy fills and licks in the final choruses, so I decided to write it in. I hope you, your students, and accompanist have fun with that!

Piano,Voice Duet Piano,Soprano voice,Tenor Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088422 Composed by Antonio Gervasoni. Classical,Contemporary. 50 pages. Antonio Gervasoni #692687. Published by Antonio Gervasoni (A0.1088422). Mini-opera for soprano, tenor and piano. I've wanted to write a piece based on Twain's Diaries of Adam and Eve ever since I read it. I always thought that the story had great potential to write a little opera buffa, and when I came across it by chance while tidying up a bookshelf, the idea came back to me and this time I finally decided to make it a reality. I have used only a few sentences from Twain's book and arranged them in such a way as to produce a workable libretto. For the most part, I've kept everything intact, except for a few words that I've taken the liberty of contract (for example, it's instead of it is; that's instead of that is). Also, in Eve's last entry, I changed every wife to everyone, as I want her words to refer to all human beings and not just women.
